Those step bits are awesome.. made in USA too I believe.
The larger, individually packaged step bit is like $39 or $49 alone.. what's the part number for that drill bit set on the left?
Looks like they repackaged them

So real question for you guys that own the string trimmer.. I have mine out of the box, nothing attached to it.. if I place a fully charged 9.0 in it, and hold trigger down - there is a noticeable vibration by the motor.. not "vibration" as in a well balanced electric motor is running inside a tool - it's more like something feels not balanced, and creates a noticeable vibration while running, and I can hear the plastic housing around the motor vibrating a little as well.. is this normal, or do you guys a have a "perfectly balanced" trimmer with no real noticeable vibrations in the handle/shaft while you're holding it??
Wondering if I should exchange it or not.. I should probably take the blower out of the box and check that too..
Edit.. I think it's actually the battery I hear vibrating... still a vibration though..
What bit/attachment is on there?
Mine is like that also. It seems something is off balance but when you have line on it runs smoother.

Why would Milwaukee not make caps for their inkzall markers that actually secure on the back of the marker? Seems idiotic to me to have a marker that doesn’t do that.
Hey kctyphoon
Is that a hex driver or an impact ? Hard for me to tell with that setup you have on the end
Thanks

Yup just looked, 2556, 2557, 2558-20 have 0 results
New 46 deep chest has no manuals either.

Ok. So maybe it's fine then.. yea it's definitely the battery vibrating that a hear, just didn't expect so much vibration. Maybe it's from the shaft inside the handle making things off balance when spinning?
I'm shocked there are no infringement issues of any kind with another company using and advertising the M18 battery on their product.
I'll snag a picture today of one of our pieces of specialty equipment that runs on M18 batteries, it happens more than you would suspect.I'm shocked there are no infringement issues of any kind with another company using and advertising the M18 battery on their product.

Great idea, responsible lithium ion user
Question: when you put new cells in, were you able to disconnect/replace the cells without keeping ~18v on the pack's circuit board? I ask because there's a YouTube video where the guy was afraid of completely cutting off voltage to the board since he suspected that it would lock out the pack and render it useless...so he did the cell swap power always feeding the board. Looked like a total PITA.
Found it:

I've been wanting to put some of the brown LG 3Ah cells in one of my 2.0 packs as an experiment but I don't have the patience to add all of those tiny wires like this YouTuber does!

loving this 2557 I got last week.
Are the Milwaukee's shaft drive? I thought the motor was down by the head?
So where's those new smaller M12 drill and driver? Weren't they supposed to be out in December? Apologies if it's been mentioned, I don't follow every page in this thread.
I'm jealous....
I've been waiting for there to be some kind of deal on these....
I was tempted to buy the drill/impact fuel kit and take the non fuel 3/8 ratchets as my free bare tool but I instead chose to wait for the new gen 2 drill and impact as the gen 1 are too big to use as a true compact set and I also would prefer the fuel version of the 3/8 ratchet
To anyone who has the ratchet in both fuel and non fuel... is there a noticeable difference in either power or weight/ergonomics of the ratchet?
See my post 11995 and resolution post 12076 below. Also look at 12001.
It seems like the blower may not like really cold temperatures
No, you don't need to apply 18V. You can if you want to keep the stored age and charge cycle. If you disconnect the 18V, the memory just resets. Also, after you recell it, you need to stick it on a milwaukee charger. It does some kind of communication to reset the microcontroller. I'm at 210 charge cycle on the new cells right now and still going strong. M18 lantern last about 8 hours on high. I am using 2200 mAH tenergy cells. Not the highest capacity, but it's cheap.
Alright guys, I'm in the market for a 3/8" Milwaukee Fuel impact, but I can't decide between the M12 and M18.
I already have the 1/2" High Torque M18 for the big and rusty stuff, I also have the 1st gen 3/8" ratchet and the new 1/4" Fuel ratchet. Plenty of M12 and M18 batteries, so that isn't a factor.
Which would you go with? M12 for its compact size, or M18 for a little extra oomph? I mainly wrench on my personal cars, among other misc. projects. I've had my eye on this impact set, so I need something to spin it.
I would say get yourself the 2754 3/8" Fuel compact impact (just as an FYI the main body of that tool is smaller than the current M12 3/8") but gives about double max torque so it may cover more applications in between grabbing that monster High Torque
The bigger difference at least to me anyways is that battery is more of a protrusion on the M18 than the slimly fitting just inside the handle design as on the M12 Fuel.
Since this IS the Milwaukee Addiction thread may I suggest a 2453 1/4" hex Fuel impact as another additional tool to your wrenching arsenal They are most often found for a lot less money than the 3/8 2454. Maybe as low as $75 new sometimes.![]()
I really that one for using longer extension bars (6" 0r 12) They are lighter and even sometimes cheaper you get a positive retention vs using a ring anvil
I already have the 2453 1/4" hex, so I'm good there. Contemplating a future purchase of the 2860 1/2" mid torque, so that makes me lean towards the M12 2454 because I will only be using it on smaller fasteners.

There are TONS of off brand tools that use dewalt batteries....
Off the top of my head there is the Grace handheld Airless spray paint gun that uses the 20v batteries and then MAC tools cordless line is all just dewalt battery based, they color them red but they are interchangeable with the normal dewalt batteries....I'm sure there are many other examples I'm forgetting...
I saw that at HD too but to me it didn't look like the sawzall kit did qualify for the free tool... just the 2 drill impact kits and the miter saw.... I'd be interested in knowing for sure tho....
Packout set available anywhere for the $199 still? I heard it was on national backorder.. lol
Lincoln maybe? Don't really know what they do sell never much looked. Can hardly stand to go in there most times. I do get grease there though sometimes 2 weeks ago my buddy at the Motorcycle shop was having fits trying to grease his dump body plow truck before a big snowstorm and for some crazy reason 2 grease guns he had just weren't cutting it and we started talking about the cordless ones.
He said someone he knew told him that they sucked at least one this person got at the TSC storeLincoln maybe? Don't really know what they do sell never much looked. Can hardly stand to go in there most times. I do get grease there though sometimes
So I took the M12 grease gun I use for my tractor/loader to the shop today to show him and we greased the dump. 2446-21 kit
He really liked the ease of it and I think he is sold on it. I mentioned the M18 version has more features but the longer hose was about all he was interested in though.
I have to find the best price. I think I paid $154 for a -21 kit (was a while ago definitely more than a year) but I think I can get him better than that now. Will need a kit though he has no Milwaukee cordless tools at all.
