Hey kctyphoon,

Does your M18 heatgun "seem" like it puts out a small amount/volume of air?

I almost think mine is at 50% boost.

I watched Youtube videos/reviews of it, but the few that actually record at regular speed with sound, it is really hard to make out how hard it is blowing compared to my M18.

This is of course being compared to my corded Master Heat Gun, which seems like a damn jet after burner compared to the M18.

What size battery do you have on it? I did notice it puts out ALOT more heat and air when using a 5.0 battery vs a 2.0.

I have my M18 7 1/4 saw in the 11x11x10 bag that I think came with my hammerdrill. Fits fine. A little snug with a battery on it but I take it off and there's still room to stuff it in the bag.
Thank you. For $10-12 I'll try it even though it seems the Fuel saw was made w/ a bigger shoe. It's 12+" long.

You do realize the motors in the FUEL tools are not running on battery DC power. The tool has an inverter driving the brushless motor with AC power at higher than battery voltage. This is why many of the FUEL tools are much more powerful than their plug in counterparts.

I know how BLDC motors work. They require electronics to do the polarity switching ("inverters" to use your words) since they aren't self commutating like brushed universal motors. That does not mean that they don't run off of DC power...these things do use batteries after all...and with that logic neither do brushed universal motors. The MOSFETs do the commutating, and nothing more.

Unless you have proof that they ramp up the voltage, I call it hogwash. The Fuel motors are tool-specific and use high powered rare earth magnets - both of which can't be said about the cookie cutter hobby motors that are in many brushed tools across all of the brands and tools (including the regular M12 ratchets). That has way more to do with it.

Last but not least, there's only so much juice (aka Watts) you can draw from a 3 (compact) or 6 (XC) battery cells, "inverted" or not. The engineers know this, and design the motors within the constraints of whatever the intended battery platform is.

You do realize this, right?

What do you recommended for circ-saw only? I'm wondering if the triangular bags can actually be zipped shut all the way w/ saw. 17L x 11W x 11H seems to be the go to....Funny, the bigger bag is $7 cheaper.

Like he said its snug but it will fit (and close)though the base pushes out the bag on the end.

The larger bag you linked is quite expensive don't really quite know why Guess because it FUEL :headscrat

That's very similar to the bag that came with my 16 ga. angled finish nailer and that also works great. Has the FUEL logo too.

But I also use this one. There is plenty of room for the saw and some accessories including the battery

Thanks for the input DerekV & DFB. Yeah, the $28 bag for the 2730 is spendy & might not fit the 2731 too well. Even the big 26" triangular bag is cheaper. At $15, I think I'll go w/ the last linked bag 🖒. Later I might get a "long" bag for the sawzall but that's low priority.

I have a fully charged 4.0 on it. Just want to make sure I didn't get a dud... I don't think I did. But just want to make sure.

Maybe I should take my battery to Home Depot and open another heat gun and try it out. A little side by side comparison just to double-check

You can fit the Fuel Sawzall in the OG organizers by taking the shoe off. Tight, but not too tight by any means.

Yeah it does not push out much air at all..

Does anyone have any comparisons between the Milwaukee max bite wrenches and the professional truck brand wrenches like snap-on or Matco? I really need to upgrade from a terrible purchase craftsman full polish set I made as my first wrench set. I was thinking either the Milwaukee’s if they compared well otherwise I’d go cheaper but still quality channellock brand some of you might have seen.

Some things I’m looking to be compared are how fat the open ends are because I kind of have ptsd after those craftsman’s and also wether the heads flex and how they feel with their I-beam construction. Any feedback would be appreciated.

""IMAGES QUOTED OUT''' :)
Oh, excellent. Now I know what to do with the latest OG organizer I got regifted to me. Will you say which foam thickness?
Hmm, if there's a gap between battery and lid, we could attach a piece of foam to the lid for more security or just make sure to only carry horizontal.

I'm not sure if they make other models, but I have a set of channellock ratcheting wrenches I bought at a Sam's club a few years ago. They are identical to the Pittsburgh brand. Not sure I'd put Milwaukee wrenches up there with snap on, but I'd have to guess they would be better than Craftsman if your picky about wrenches. Milwaukee designed them for pro use in mind, but honestly the only way to know for sure is to try them yourself. They haven't been around too long, and pro mechanics seem pretty set in their brands so I don't think you'll find many people owning both to compare.. you can always buy them online at home Depot and give them a shot. If u don't like them, just bring them back.

The Channellock wrenches I've seen have the ASD teeth on the open end, that must be a new version than what you got

I used the 30mm thickness, which seemed to work pretty good all round. I didn't cut the battery part all the way through (just removed a few layers) and it's *perfect* in there. No flop!

No they make a new style combination wrench with the biting teeth like the high quality truck brands. They also have blue and red stripes for metric/standard. They aren’t that expensive though and I would buy them if the Milwaukee’s weren’t so enticing. But I just want to make sure they are the real deal because it’s hard to tell from reviews how thick the open ends are or if they flex with high torque.

I would expect it wouldnt be, thought at a minimum the tool had to be Fuel to utilize extra power from a 9.0. Wish there was a list of all tools which could do it and they stated for new tools. Another reason I might wait for Gen2 heat gun which will be Fueled.
Meh..can't really say so. Just tried it (had to charge the 9.0 first) Seat of the pants observation maybe a very slight difference in volume though nothing scientific to go on :dunno:

Any one have any idea when the new m12 2553 impact driver is coming out? I def am ordering one. I was going to buy the m12 fuel 1/4" impact wrench but it's pricey. With the 4 modes I think ill just go with the 2553. I'm absolutely floored by the power to size ratio. Watched a demonstration/review on YouTube of that and the new drill. Impressive.

Most sites had pre-orders till this week, I believe Milwaukee is shipping them out to suppliers this week. Waiting for Nick on FB to post a deal for the impact driver/hammer drill set. :rocker:

Finally used my M12 underhood for 5 hrs this week, it is nice still used other lights as well. Only issue not related to it specifically, the cars hood is reverse open and how I had it mounted I did hit my head on it a few times.

Did not use my Fuel ratchets, just old ones. Think their use will be mixed, Fuels are great for disassembly but rather use the old ones for putting back together especially when most bolts have low torque specs.

Does anyone know where to get (or have one for sale) the toolbox inlay power tool organizer tray? Spoke to Milwaukee direct and they do not offer this (said they get lots of calls on it). Seems like it would be easy enough to fab but that's not really in my skill set...

I don't think I have enough posts to insert a picture?

No sir... I'm talking about the metal insert tray organizer (thingy) that comes with the toolboxes in the dedicated power tool storage drawer (usually bottom right drawer iirc).

Holds 4-6ea 18v bare tools as well as their batteries independently.

2 weeks ago my buddy at the Motorcycle shop was having fits trying to grease his dump body plow truck before a big snowstorm and for some crazy reason 2 grease guns he had just weren't cutting it and we started talking about the cordless ones.

He said someone he knew told him that they sucked at least one this person got at the TSC store :dunno: Lincoln maybe? Don't really know what they do sell never much looked. Can hardly stand to go in there most times. I do get grease there though sometimes

So I took the M12 grease gun I use for my tractor/loader to the shop today to show him and we greased the dump. 2446-21 kit

He really liked the ease of it and I think he is sold on it. I mentioned the M18 version has more features but the longer hose was about all he was interested in though.

I have to find the best price. I think I paid $154 for a -21 kit (was a while ago definitely more than a year) but I think I can get him better than that now. Will need a kit though he has no Milwaukee cordless tools at all.

$154 bare tool on the FB page if you were still lookin
