And I made up for buying a Bosch rotary hammer - I gave away a never used 18v Dewalt xrp hammer drill and about 6 18v batteries that I last tested or charged in 2014 to someone at work... now if I can only figure out what to do with all the old Bosch 18v stuff that's sitting in my closet........

I'll.never use it again, but I dunno if I can bring myself to toss the 7.2v Dewalt Screwdriver I still have... That little thing drywalled most of my house and I gotta say that thing was great.

If I had half a brain and some motivation I woulda started a contracting company years ago. I have enough **** laying around to tool up a small company with ease. It's not normal to have a cement mixer in your basement.

Friend was just saying other day how good his little Dewalt 7.2 was, he is in a pickle cause his pre M4 little screw driver charger no longer works and think he lost the Dewalt. Needs something like that for a job soon. Said wish Milwaukee would come out with a M4 replacement ASAP on new USB platform, especially since Bosch just released one.

Dewalt made a BIG mistake in my mind by not just upgrading that 7.2 screwdriver. For its day, it was PERFECT.. They should have just made it Lithium, maybe some led lights.. instead they come out with that STUPID 8v gyroscopic mess... the 7.2 was nice and strong, built like a tank, small, light, articulating.. great GREAT tool.

Actually ya know what.. Imma buy a cheap aftermarket battery for it.. lol

New Milwaukee lights at Walmart, only $5.... lol.... Couldnt resist for $5, as my friend said at least they are the right color, penlights not bad. On the penlight theres a cheap mag on the clip and the clip swivels side to side, more thought into design than the M18 new rover haha.

Would anybody be interested in a 2767-20 with a boot? I used it once to rotate two tires. I also have the mid torque and can't possibly see why I will need both. I don't have the original box but still have the paperwork that came with it. I think I'd need $250 shipped but may be open to offers. PM me if interested.

110 lbs won’t break the hex shank on a socket adapter?
Well my M18 Impact Driver has like 150ft/lbs. I learned REAL quick to not use it with cheap bits. I've destroyed several bits by forgetting to put it down to power mode 2 or 1. Not like slightly dinged, it's straight up put a full spiral twist into a few of my bits and broken a dozen others clean off. That's why they have the different settings though.

It's nice to be able to put in a 3/8" drive to hex adapter if I only have my driver handy. I only use the shorter Milwaukee ones though, the actual hex shank is shorter so it's less likely to twist or break.

Is it not listed in that particular tool's parts breakdown PDF on their website?

Does it get as loud as the first gen? Got rid of the first gen because the M18 surge was the same size and so much quieter.

But I won't mind picking up the second gen if it's quieter or equivalent as the surge.

It might be a tad bit quieter than Gen 1 but it will never be as quiet as the surge as that is powered by hydraulics.

Agree, I have the original M12 Fuel impact and the new M18 Surge Hydraulic impact. Had really hoped the new M12 was going to be hydraulic powered smaller version of the Surge M18. Once you use the Surge its hard to pick up the older style and use it. Seems so out of date and crude.

I am hoping they build a smaller M12 Surge and a larger M18 high torque Surge and am keeping my gen one versions for now until they do.

Can someone explain how Milwaukee uses hydraulics in a small cordless tool. Is Hydraulics not a fluid base for moving rams and stuff ?
Thanks
scarrylarry

It's just an oil pulse. Search for that, probably w term Makita. They were early in this market. It's not really like a continuous hydraulic flow that moves rams

I played with it a bit today. Wore it all day, and I LOVE the belt clip. It slips on and off jeans very easily, but holds securely while it is in place.

I tweaked the torx screw that acts as the hinge, and it opens slightly easier... just easily enough that with a solid flick it will open.

I have to say. It won me over today. You are right though. Definitely not sharp. That's ok though. Gives me a reason to buy a nice sharpening stone. I've got a bunch of knives that can be done!

Used my Fastback knife today for trimming a rubber mat. It worked great! No more box cutter or carpet knifes for me.

It really is amazing how much better the surge is I haven’t come across a screw it wont drive and I think if I have a lag bolts it won’t drive that will be the excuse I need to buy a mid torque.

I thought the surge was weaker though? I've heard a few times that the surge is really only ideal for driving screws all day. I don't mind the noise for a little more power. I'm actually quite fond of impact noises.

The way the surge works is it applies a smaller amount of force, but for a longer duration of time. It's best suited for smaller and medium sized fasteners, not any thing large.

Define large I’ve driven 4” #10 construction screws very fast with mine. Like I said anything larger than that will probably have a hex head on it and then I will buy a mid torque to drive those.

Don't need it (2767-20) 1/2" second gen impact but $150 was too good to pass on. Local offerup deal.
