^^^ Well buying a new tool is entirely up you

Do you need the 54? Probably not the 53 is rated at 100 ft lbs and the 54 @116ftlb

Of course there will be a slight torque loss using an 1/4 shank socket adapter will is also a general weak point can sometimes break from fatigue after a while.

That said I do like the 2454 its been quite amazing for me and I have put it to its limits too even with lug nuts.

Some of us here are expectantly waiting a Gen 2 version of the M12 3/8 Fuel impact wrench :bounce:

Nothing is official though

Just playing around with my original brushed 2462 M12 hex impact driver using sockets and an adapter on some small engine junk it removed everything head bolts, etc after enough raps and even stripped threads and broke smaller bolts just seeing how much hammering it could do. The Fuel is nicer with adjustable modes 2 is good and more would be better

If an impact wrench is that close to a driver, I wouldnt bother. Drivers are 100+ ft lb so I'd pick a wrench with 150+ ft lb or the mid torque if size/weight is close. I've got an old 450 ft lb 2663 & a few drivers. [emoji848][emoji1]

I own a 2453 M12 Fuel Impact Driver, and sometimes I use it with a socket adapter for small things. It works pretty well for the occasional use, but I'm wondering if a 2454 3/8 impact wrench would be better for my uses, mainly automotive stuff, ...

Sell your driver and get the wrench and a quick 1/4" hex adapter ! That is what I have and I love it ! The impact driver to square adapters loose a lot of the impact torque. Best decision I ever made.

I am still contemplating getting the M12 Fuel 2557 ratchet. The price on the old non-Fuel M12 2457 3/8" ratchet has dropped A LOT !

With the model numbers being sequential, I figured the driver and the wrench are basically the same internally, just one with an anvil and the other with a hex shank. I'm not too worried about breaking adapters with it, they're cheap enough and small enough that I'll probably lose them before I break them anyway. I was mostly lured by the buy an M12 kit, get a free bare tool, but it's cheaper to just buy the bare tool I want and a lifetime supply of socket adapters.

I would tend to agree with that assessment OP did say he has a High Torque so ya there is a lot of ground to cover in between. My vote would be for an M18 compact wrench with a minimum of 3 modes.

Personally think the mode 4 on the 27xx is useless. and one may be better off with One Key technology if they are so inclined to use it.

The 26xx tools are virtually gone now and any availability is severely limited I really like my 55B. Has the best torque modes :D better than 54's IMO

Slightly surprised in a way there is no One Key choice in M12

Time for another question on impact driver vs impact wrench: I own a 2453 M12 Fuel Impact Driver, and sometimes I use it with a socket adapter for small things. It works pretty well for the occasional use, but I'm wondering if a 2454 3/8 impact wrench would be better for my uses (mainly automotive stuff, and I have a 2767 high torque for bigger stuff. I'm going to be rebuilding an engine or two soon, so will just using a socket adapter be good enough? Are there other alternatives I should be looking at?

Entirely up to you.. at this point if your gonna get another impact, the mid torque might be the better option.. but if you like the m12 stuff, there's nothing wrong with buying the m12 impact either - although you should probably wait for a gen2 which everyone is kind of expecting now..

There's really no right or wrong answer here - everyone favors different things, so only you'll be the best judge of where your money should go.

Picked up the M12 3/8 ratchet the other day, good stuff.

I seem to remember that there was a low profile rubber cover for the head of it, not the massive thing that Milwaukee make for it.

Can someone remind me which one it is.

So it seems it was posted that milwaukee is coming out with ratcheting wrenches now.

Darn, not reversible wrenches. I really like the normal milwaukee wrenches after they came out, but held back hoping for a release of reversible ratcheting wrenches. I had a few cases when these non reversible ratcheting wrenches get stuck.

Yea that inflator is small... actually glad to see it's small

All, well most, of my Milwaukee cordless tools are getting a new home. Got a second side locker for my US General box that is being dedicated just to them. Just ordered more shelves for it.. so with 3 movable shelves inside, and the bottom shelf and big drawer, I think I'll be able to store all the power tools with exceptions being the string trimmer, blower, rocket lights, m18 fan, wet dry vac, and the big m18 radio w/charger. Thought I'd get all the stuff in there with 3 shelves in total, but no - need one more. No batteries, no chargers yet - we'll see. Locker is deep enough to BARELY fit the fuel sawzall which is the longest tool. Thought I had everything together and then found 2 more tools.. hopefully I got everything now.

I like it. Hand held 12V vacuum pump. There are little boxes you can buy that use compressed air to make vacuum. If an 18V compressor is made like Ridgid has, one of these boxes could work but that apparatus would be a lot bigger and less convenient.

eBay is running a 15% off code today PSPRINGTIME. Works on a lot of Milwaukee stuff on eBay. I just got the M12 underhood XC kit for 170$ shipped. That seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Also I finally will have the last light (hopefully) for my mega underhood shootout video.
Old HF, New HF, Fastcap Flexlight, Astro 150SL, and M12 Underhood.

I had something similar happen to me the other night. How about turn that M12 rivet gun into a nutsert tool!

FYI: Home Depot has the older style Milwaukee 48-22-8030 Parts Organizers for only $24.97. I think they might be closing these out due to the new Packout 48-22-8430 model which sells everywhere for about $50. I just bought a bunch to finally get my many assorted cans, jars, bags, boxes, and buckets of parts and pieces organized. I plan to weld up a rack to hold all of them soon.

If this was already covered I apologize.

The one by me only had 1 in stock 2 weeks before Christmas when they had that deal I haven’t seen them since 24.97 is cheap compared to the new packput organizers which are stupid expensive and never in stock.

Yup goes on sale for $20 couple times a year past 2yrs. Thought $20 was gonna be the new perm price this last round, back when it first came out many years ago it was $35.

One thing I dont like is many times I dont fill the cups, what would be super cool is if some of them were half height and there was 2 half cups stacked on top of each other.

I know that it's early but does anyone know of any upcoming sales for the old style 46 inch toolbox?

Thanks!

So is a Milwaukee 2764 3/4 impact a good choice for attaching ledger boards to rim joist when building decks? Say 12 to 24 1/2 x 6" lag bolts into wood. Or would a corded impact be a better choice for this?

A 3/4" High Torque impact is overkill for a 6" lag bolt. It should handle it fine. The M12 3/8" could do it with no problem if you drill pilot holes.

Yeah, but I'm talking about a bunch of them. Milwaukee cordless hammer drill doesn't work believe me I tried. I recently bought a 1/2" Fuel impact and was disappointed it wouldn't remove the lug nuts on my wife's car (in fairness neither would a Snap-on MG725). Had to persuade them the old school way, lol.

Alot of us at work use the 1/2" for semi tires, torqued to 550ftlbs, I don't see how that's possible to not remove passenger vehicle wheels 🤷*@#$♂️

IDK, I started another thread about it a few weeks ago. Had to remove my wife's tire to get it fixed. Relatively new Milwaukee Fuel 1/2 impact wouldn't budge the lug nuts. Then tried my Snap-on MG725, no luck with that either. Used a Snap-on 1/2 breaker bar and some good old fashioned persuasion to "break" them loose. The Milwaukee handled it from there.

BTW, I reinstalled them with the Milwaukee and checked with a Snap-on Torque wrench. All good. Wouldn't take them off though.
