I figure grease is like engine oil for the most part, lots of options and lots of opinions from various users. I use the regular NAPA wheel bearing grease in almost everything I grease (older big trucks, older pickup trucks, etc) I haven't ever needed any of the specialty greases, so I can't comment on those, but I feel like every NLGI #2 grease I've ever bought has been the same as every other.

i actually meant "dont get XYZ, it seems to always jam in the tube". i agree with you about grease, wheel bearing grease is the answer to all the grease activities i end up doing.

The Lock N Lube coupler.

that is the one i was looking at, but for 30$ i wanted to make sure that it was the one with the great reviews.

thanx . . . . . . .

Put the M12 Fuel Hackzall to the test. Cut a piece of light rail, my other tools are packed up for a move. Used one of the Diablo extreme metal cutting blades. One XC battery (not 4.0, 32Wh) barely got through. Blade it's still good. The top was hard! Guess it work hardened.

I feel like it did pretty well. View attachment 753312

Not sure, but I bought a pair at the start of winter and by the end of January the fingertips were worn out in them.

I bought 2 more pair today - and I put them on and thought to myself they seem thinner and flimsy.. I can swear these things used to be thicker, and the lower price tag makes me suspicious.

Edit - I actually still have pictures of the first pair of demo gloves I ever bought, that I took showing how much abuse they were holding up to.. zooming in, I wanna say the little grippy parts were hex shaped patterns, and the pairs I just bought they are round... it's hard to tell cause they are worn - but I wanna say that padding is hex shaped.. am I losing my mind?

And the newer ones say "smart swipe" on the index finger, these didn't

Thanks, I appreciate the unbiased review. The Milwaukee string trimmer does seem pretty good, but I figure if I'm going with the Ego blower, might as well go with the Ego string trimmer too.

I just watched a runtime test of the 575cfm ego blower - with a 5.0 battery it lasted 13 minutes...

Edit - which is a long time compared to some others - dunno about Milwaukee- but the ego def appears to be stronger in videos..

I have used them at work for years, well worth the money. I was sold when I saw an advertisement of them cutting a ball hitch down the middle with one.

I have seen some talk on the internet about the Milwaukee grease gun having metric threads on the end of the hose, but the 2017 manufactured one that I just purchased has "standard" 1/8" NPT threads. I put a lock and lube coupler on the end and like it quite a bit.

I do believe there originally some very early release with a metric thread but has been changed for uniformity I have a M12 grease gun for more than a year now and its not metric

i just bought one of these. any recommendations on what canisters of grease to buy or avoid?

You really cant beat using a good water resistant wheel bearing grease and I always use on my motorcycle but not always necessary like for tractor implement drivelines and mowers and other parts that need/should be greased often. Cheap grease works fine if you routinely use it :D

I do like the moly grease for tractor loader best though its not fun to get on you and hard to get cleaned off.

I have experienced the red heavy duty grease caking up but I will chalk that up from lack of use more than the grease being no good or anything

I suppose I haven't had mine long enough to say. The regular NAPA wheel bearing grease 14oz cartridge went right in and worked just fine. I've never used any grease gun's bulk or suction load options, though I think like many others, the Milwaukee has both.

I like the Lock N Lube so far. I have only used it a few times, but it does seem to work well. It does leak some grease past the fitting, though, which is something I figured it wasn't supposed to do at all.

I picked up my demo’s about 1.5-2 yrs ago. Like the junkie that we are I been hoarding them and still got 3 brand new pairs in my tool box, mine say smart touch knuckles on them and have the hex shape grip. So you might be right that they changed them up. Haven’t checked out the new ones since I still got my other pairs working like a champ.

Btw I picked up some “performance” version on “sale” for $10. They leave a lot to desire but have their place and use I guess. View attachment 753340View attachment 753341

Yea I signed up 2 days ago..

I believe I read somewhere that Milwaukee has a patent on a dual voltage battery pack.. I'm guessing it's either that, or the chainsaw..

I'm thinking battery technology, as a chainsaw doesn't necessarily seem like a "breakthrough." Though I would be most glad to be wrong to see that.

It would be awesome if they do release a dual/ higher voltage battery and tools, but part of me hopes they don't. The responsible part that knows I can't afford 4 new batteries and a couple new tools

If they do go that route, I hope one of the first tools they release is a 6" grinder. I'm def holding off buying the dewalt until they make the announcement

Also reading further on the ratchet wrenches, I am intrigued at the idea of the larger sets. Most high quality ratchet wrench manufacturers don't make sizes above 3/4". If these are reviewed well I may pick up the sae set.

I dont know how I feel about the dual volt route. Even though 2x battery tools like Makita isnt ideal at least everything is still compatible. If 12.0 is dual 18v 12a and 36v 6a, I hope I dont need a new charger and it will work in all my M18 tools. If they released chainsaw, table saw, etc and you had to have a dual volt battery, then your into the compatibility issues of Dewalt Flexvolt.

I am so heavily invested in M18 & M12, I dont want any impact to keeping them for long term.... At least the M12 is prolly safe, not like they would have a dual 12/24v for that.

What I gathered from that email is that it is an improvement/advancement specifically for the M18 line. I would think they would have worded that differently if this was going to be an announcement of a dual voltage product.

My hope is for a dual volt M18 table saw.

Also hoping for the 10” Miter Saw to have kit + 1 extra battery deal back at Home Depot soon.

I just might have to bite on that mid torque kit for $199 I see posted from HD

Is that still good?

Does anyone know if ACME has it for that or is just a Home Depot Special Buy.

Heard nothing on my compressor order so far

What would be an amazement, is if Milwaukee came out with a dual voltage battery that you could manually swap between 18 and 36v that would still work on the m18 line.. like if it could be an 18v 5 amp hr, or 36v 2.5 amp hr compatible with the current line of tools. Now that would be "ground breaking".

What would be so amazing about that? That's what Hitachi is doing right now. Dewalt has been doing Flexvolt for a couple years now. Slapping a Milwaukee sticker on it doesn't automatically make it revolutionary haha

I actually have no idea what they're gonna do for this new gen M18 revival. Awhile ago I suspected an 18x2 system, but all this hype that they're building is making me think it's actually ground breaking. "If it's not a multiple battery system or a Flexvolt-like system, what could it possibly be?" We will see...

What I just described, and flexvolt - are NOTHING alike.

Hitachi has a Battery platform where "I"can flip a switch on the battery and choose if it's an 18 or 36v battery? They have a drill that is both an 18 AND 36v tool if I choose it to be?

Anyone looking for a FUEL 7 1/4” Circ saw? PM me

The circular saw 9.0 starter kit is only $250 right now so unless you're planning on selling for $150 or less you're probably wasting your time.

Man that is a good deal. That’s The next M18 on my list. I guess I need to go and look for one at the local store.
