Did anyone post up a link to the new Milwaukee hand tools that we're announced? So far all I've seen is the same stuff (basically) with red channellock style grips. Anything actually new?

I have both M12 and M18 tools - not both the Hackzalls, sorry.

The M12 stuff is amazing because of it's size and weight.

There are pages and pages of guys jonesing for the 9.0 and 12.0: "OMG, I can attach a car battery to my M18 drill! How cool is that?!"

Throw the M12 driver and drill in a small bag and head over to MIL's to hang a shelf. I don't need enough power to run a small city for that.

.

Yea, I have fuel drills and drivers in both M12 and M18, and I rarely ever grab the M18 one any more. That said, the weight and size isn't that much of a difference, but if you're working for an extended amount of time with the tool, it becomes noticeable.

I'm looking forward to the new M12 impact wrenches. I already use my m12 3/8 impact wrench all the time, but it's a little bit on the weak side, so occasionally I still have to pull out my big impact wrench.

I am slowly becoming a Milwaukee addict!

But I have a question for the guys that have experience with the M18 Fuel 7-1/4 saw.

I may pick up a reconditioned one from CPO. I only need it for a few projects this summer. Ill be repairing our front deck and adding a walk way between our two rear decks. Other than that just occasional cuts with it for very small projects.

I have 2 questions:
1. How are the reconditioned ones from CPO?
2. I have a few of the 4.0 batteries, will they do all right in the saw?I don't want to
spend the extra money for the saw with battery kit of I can get by with the 4.0's.

Thanks in advance for the help guys

I received a reconditioned tool from CPO that was supposed to be new opened box. Maybe I’m picky but the case was dirty the tools were obviously used had scratches and scrapes. Then everything had RCD01-18 engraved into. I can’t see putting up with that for 15% off new price. To CPO’s credit they admitted their mistake and paid for refund and gave me a coupon code for my next order.

I've purchased 5 recon's from them and have yet to receive anything other then brand new stuff. Matter of fact other then you're normal massive amount of plastic bagged misc stuff and the paper propaganda nothing has ever been missing

Thanks for the responses!

I'm thinking I'll be fine. I'm strongly considering the chainsaw when it comes out. If I get that i can use the 12.0 battery. Hopefully the reviews for it are as good as it looks in the videos I've seen on youtube.

CPO's return policy is 120 days on recon stuff. That should give me plenty of time for testing

So my Home Depot has the M18 rocket light on clearance for $125 from $199. Is that a good price or should I wait and see if it drops some more? I don't really need the light but if it's a great deal I'll buy it and set it aside until a day a do need it.

I purchased my Fuel Sawzall reconditioned from CPO. It looked brand new other than "RCD" and a date engraved into the plastic by the battery area. Not visible with a battery on and hard to see at all unless you're looking for it. For a tool I do not use very frequently the savings were worth it to me at the time. It got through the project I needed it for with no issues and has seen a handful of uses since.

I think my first kit -m18 gen 1 fuel drill and impact driver with 2 4.0 batteries - I got from cpo for $190 delivered..

They had a listing on eBay - and actually raised the price the day I was gonna buy.. after 3 emails complaining about "how do u raise the price halfway through the add running?" - they honored the $190 delivered price. Still have the batteries, charger and impact going. Drill I sold when I got a new one.

At 125 - God yes.. id be too worried about waiting to see if it goes lower. I don't see many people walking away from that.. refurb cost is $149 I think.

So what's the consensus here ?? M18 mid torque 3/8 or the new m12 stubby?

I think I'm leaning M18.. what would be REALLY nice - is if they released a viable right angle impact with 200ftlbs.

No idea why a complete list of all new tools announced isn't posted in one spot yet..

Both are on my list. I never bought the original 1/2" mid torque and now I'm glad I didn't but it's the M12 stubby impact that I really can't wait to get my hands on.

Ordered a 2475-20 inflator yesterday, should come in handy.

It's.smaller that you'd think... Even after watching some videos.. the display is really nice too.

Even if I NEVER use it - I might have to get one of those stubbys.. they're just so damn cool looking.. lol

I take it nobody has seen a palm router huh? I wonder if mikwakee signed an agreement with Ridgid about how long they would wait to release one...

Cut off tool seems nice - but I think it woulda been more marketable if they just made it a right angle tool.

Buy it, set it aside and if the price drops return it and buy at the reduced price.

The M12 stubby is going to great. even with a 3/8" anvil the mid torque is still a big wrench over 5lbs and is way more than you need for many applications. Think of things beyond a brake job or wheel lugs

Say like any bolts 3/8" and under small engine work and other mechanical assembly.

I used my mid torque the other day on my mower deck to pull a spindle bolt
That big battery was in the way nothing to do with the drive end wouldn't have mattered if I had the compact either.

Now what speeds will the new M12 3/8 have any one know yet? Mode #1 on that mid torque is about as usefull as mode #! on my 2763

I just picked up that saw reconditioned from CPO about a month ago during their recon sale for $139. The one I received looked brand spanking new except for a few tiny bits of sawdust. They even sent me the stock blade but I put a new Diablo on it, and everything is square a true. I'm very happy with it. I always use my 5.0 batteries on it, plenty of power and runtime. I threw my 9.0 on it once and the extra weight wasn't bad, but I have several 5.0's so I use them on it.

It was my first reconditioned tool so I was nervous, but pleasantly surprised when I got it. Their recon items have a 120 day no-hassle return policy, vs 30 days for new tools. The website claimed that I would receive a 1 year warranty rather than Milwaukee's 5 year warranty, but the package I received had a label right on the front that said the tool is covered by Milwaukee's full warranty.

Real Tool Reviews has a great video review of the saw and it's runtime.

Oh, you need it....

.

I mean, I already had a M18 drill and impact driver when I bought the Gen 2 M12 Fuel kit, and I still use all of them...

Actually the mid torque pretty much lives in my SUV with some roadside service tools and my M12 inflator. I could leave the M12 in the garage at home, 250 ft/lbs is plenty for anything I do at home.

Damn I'd buy it at that price. New ones are still $199 at our HD. I just ordered one reconditioned from CPO for $139, along with a new M18 fan. A couple more things I really didn't need, but will come in handy this summer for camping and cookouts, plus remodeling two upstairs bedrooms currently without power.

I ordered it last night, same price. I may pick up a 5.0 battery if I find a good deal

Today I picked up the 2475-20 inflator and I gotta say it's a nice little unit. I don't like messing with my air compressor due to the noise and getting it out of its corner and dragging out a hose etc just to air up some tires so I thought this would be a nice alternative. I like that it has a built-in pressure gauge and you can set it to shut off at a certain pressure. It's small, easy to use, and faster than getting the air compressor out or going to the gas station. I'm impressed.

Yep, it worked better than I expected. It's not fast if you are trying to add 20 PSI to a tire, but if you need to add a few PSI to 4 tires, it's not bad at all. I showed the wife how to use it yesterday and she is good with it.

Has anyone used this on high pressure bicycle tires yet? 110 - 120 PSI?

.

I used it on a bicycle tire with a schrader valve from 0 to 50 psi, took less than 10 sec, 110-120psi shouldn't be too long, I pump my road bike with a floor pump to 115 psi and it takes some time and effort. It has a presta valve.

I will try on my road bike tomorrow and let you know.

Posted this to poke at the yellow bellied (get it?) Dewalt gods, but I'll share.

According to Home Depot's listings:

Milwaukee m18 chainsaw weight - 13.9 lbs
Dewalt 60v Flexvolt chainsaw weight - 17.5 lbs
Echo 58v chainsaw - 14.4 lbs

Milwaukee's usage - professional
Dewalt's usage - homeowner
Echo's usage - professional

Milwaukee's warranty - 5yr
Dewalt's warranty - 3yr
Echo's warranty - 5yr consumer/2 yr commercial

Milwaukee's included battery - 12.0 amp hr
Dewalt's included battery - 3.0 amp hr
Echo's included battery - 4.0 amp hr

Milwaukee's chain speed - 12.7 mps
Dewalt's chain speed - 15.24 mps. (The .04 is important)
Echo's chain speed - 22.5 mps

Dewalt's max torque - 3.9 nm
Echo's max torque - 1.72 nm
MILWAUKEE'S MAX TORQUE - 8.0 nm

Dewalt claims up to 70 cuts per charge in 6x6 pressure treated pine
Milwaukee claims up to 150 cuts per charge in 6x6 cedar.

....And yes, I make wood in the forest. That's how we say it around here. Got a problem with that?

Oh god that's funny **** right there... lol. Esp with the Bigfoot screen name.. lol

Right when I'm finally ready to dive into the Milwaukee pond, they come out with these stubby impacts. Do I wait or get one of the others now and the new one later?

The Mid Torque is worth picking up and will be useful with the Stubby impacts

I'd hold out, it's only another 2 months until they're out. Get a nice drill and impact driver in the mean time, the impact driver is fully capable of serving as an impact wrench till you get the dedicated one.

Hello all! I took the big red plunge today. My LTS had a deal i couldn't pass up on. It is a 2897-22 kit and I got a free 5.0 battery, 18 pc bit set and a tool bag free. The price was 349.99

Bad thing is I'm ordering a mid torque now. Then a 1/2 angle drill and saw to get the 9.0 free.

I never knew changing colors was so expensive.

Gonna change my "Want List"...

I now want the NON FUEL 1/4" ratchet. I read a few posts here and decided to actually look at one. Went to the Milwaukee Dealer place and held both. Non Fuel is what I want... the head size is the reason.

The stubby 3/8" impact has been added to the list as well. Probably won't use it much... but it's too cute to not have in my toolbox
