I'd say $100 for a new 2663 is right around what they seem to be going for on ebay, so probably market price, so yeah, a fair price.

Any thoughts on when they might release a mower? Mid year? Or wait for next NPS?

You'd think they'd come out with a mower, but after this NPS I don't know how much that jives with their insane stubbornness (not necessarily a bad thing) to keep the M18 a one battery thing. Hell, even their two battery light drains one at a time! Ridiculous.

A mower that's more than a toy will no doubt require more watt hours than any single M18 battery could provide. And blowing through them one at a time is way more inefficient (battery-power draw-wise) than drawing from multiple at once. Same rationale as the 9.0 having more than double the performance as a 5.0 with high draw applications.

I'd love a mower from Milwaukee. Hopefully they give in a little (dual/triple/quadruple batteries) when they start doing bigger items like this.

I’m hoping it is a dual battery system like the Dewalt that just came out. Designed for 2x the new 12ah, but able to use the older 18650 packs with less run time.

I don’t need self driving as that just uses more battery juice.

Killing time at Sears today stumbled onto this gem. After a wee bit of advertised price vs actual price drama this Milwaukee hand truck that converts to a dolly, 800lb rating, 'Made in USA', and most importantly to me: Never-flat tires, came home with me for $33. Luv it!

Milwaukee Hand Truck 36080S
http://www.milwaukeehandtrucks.com/details.php?model=36080S&x=17&y=19

I'm posting it here assuming these Milwaukee hand trucks are the same company that makes most of the tools posted on this thread. Or is it a completely different company?

Yep I'm really curious how Milwaukee is gonna handle "fixing" tools that won't fit the 12.0 like the 2771 water pump. They have stated in a press release any tool that won't fit the 12.0, they'll make it right.

And the specifics of what they will do has probably been discussed here, but I think when I'm ready to actually pursue this it could merit a separate thread.

We fill kiddie pools for my animal rescue for the animals to stay cool and even a 9.0 doesn't last us that long in the water pump (feeding from a 500 gallon tank in a truck)

Don't know about the pump, but you can either call Milwaukee and they will send you free retro fit parts, or you can send the tools in for free and they will install it for you.. I called and asked about a month ago, think the guy's name was john.

That's from a completely different company just FYI. And they don't offer replacement parts. At least not the one I own..

As I wrote in my post wasn't sure if they were the same company or not, though I figured it probably was is why I posted here. In any case it's miles better than either of my HF trucks I paid at least as much for. Hopefully I won't be needing any replacement parts.

I sure think so. I would buy one in a heartbeat for that price.

Well I held off on this and here is why. I have a 3/8" fuel M18 Impact that came in a combo pack. My plan was to buy the 1/2" to travel with in case of a flat tire while traveling. I am guessing the 3/8" fuel Impact would have enough torque with a 9.0 battery to loosen and tighten the lugs. I searched but could not find an answer so I figured I could get one here. I am new to the milwaukee addiction

I wonder if they will make it right with my mag drill? It won't even fit a 9.0 battery.

Wow, it looks like they will:

**Due to the physical size increase of the M18™ REDLITHIUM™ HIGH OUTPUT™ HD12.0, it does not fit the following tools prior to a 6/1/2018 manufacturing date without applicable service parts: 2787-20, 2788-20, 2771-20, 2122-20, 2130-20, 2135-20, 2361-20, 2145-20, 2146-20, 2360-20. Milwaukee is committed to protecting users’ investments, offering free service upgrades for the listed products to any customer that purchases an HD12.0 battery pack. Users may visit eService at https://www.milwaukeetool.com/eService for available service upgrades.

So the tools they will upgrade to work with the 12.0 batteries are:

Both 2787-20 and 2788-20 mag drills
2771-20 transfer pump
2122-20 bucket light tool
2130-20 rocket LED tower light
2135-20 three head LED tower light/charger
2135-20 rover LED floodlight
Both 2145-20 and 2146-20 compact site lights
2360-20 rover dual power LED light

I had a bright idea this morning as I was leaving for work. We have a UPS shipping scale. And conveniently for you Imperial Unit lovers, it's in pounds!

Hedge trimmer: 8.65 lb (3.92 kg)
9.0 battery: 2.40 lb (1.09 kg)
Trimmer with 9.0: 11.05 lb (5.01 kg)

And the best part, everything seems to add up!

I also measured my old corded trimmer. Way lighter! 4.55 lb (2.06 kg). But of course, you're swinging some more weight with the cord.

Further to this post, the hedge trimmer is too heavy for my old tired arms to swing for too long, so this past week I trimmed the hedge over 2 evenings.
So I wondered how much weight I could save with smaller batteries. So I coughed up for a 2 pack of 1.5 batteries, might as well go to the smallest. They weigh .93 lbs, 420 grams. So I save over a whole pound, nearly a pound and a half. This is over 13% of the weight! I'll report on battery and arm life, but as I can trim the whole hedge using only 1 bar on the 9.0, I don't think this will be a big deal. We'll see if my arms/shoulders hold up any better.

Lugs on what?
Alum car wheels, sure.
Steel rim on truck...not so sure.
Breaker bar for sure.

So if you buy a 12.0 they will upgrade your product somehow

Yea so i just called them,, no we're not getting free tools.. lol. They are offering a free upgrade kit for the tools where the battery won't fit. They don't even have part numbers available yet. As far as the rocket light, is a new bottom for the base they will send you. It's like 10 small screws - or you can send it in for free and they will do it if you don't want to be bothered.. not worth sending anything in to me.. I may not even get the part, but I wanted to call and ask EXACTLY what the fix was gonna be.. guy I talked to was name john, only john in the dept he says.. said he started gettin calls the Monday afterwards asking about getting the new 12.0 battery.. nice guy.. he said call back in mid to late June and he'd have everything and they will ship out whatever anyone needs.

Honestly - I'm impressed they are even offering the parts for free.. who else does that...

Posted about a month ago. They will send you parts. Call john at Milwaukee.

Where do you guys like to buy batteries? Anyone have luck buying used ones locally? I just bought my first Milwaukee cordless power tool so I am looking to buy a pair of 5.0 batteries and a charger. I’m trying out Offer Up shipping so assuming all goes well I should have the bare tool for $87 if I can find a battery or two at a good price it would really sweeten the deal. Gonna check the pawn shops this weekend.

Best deal is hands down eBay.. you can get 9.0s for like $$90. I try to buy something in factory packing, but there's dozens of.guys that have had no issues buying otherwise. Lots.of guys break up kits on eBay - and magically come by 100 batteries which I'm still wondering how they make that happen. But yea - eBay.

I'd recommend using at least an XC battery. The outdoor tools have high power demands, and the compact batteries 1.5/2 only have one "bank" of batteries to pull juice from. The XC (3/4/5/6) have 2, and will provide for a much better experience. The cells in the compact will get hotter, faster in these tools, and while they may work adequately now, they will have a shorter lifespan overall.

I think you will also find the XC batteries give the hedge trimmer better balance than the compacts.

I've spent about 8 hours with the new sander in my hand this weekend. Really nice little sander, but it sure does go through batteries.

I have a M12 Fuel 3/8" wrench to take my lugs off my 4Runner, along with their USB battery charger just in case I don't have enough juice in a battery. Any m18 wrench won't have an issue. You won't even need the 9 to do it. Yes 9 might do it faster, potentially tighten more, but like I've said before, Milwaukee tool boxes don't say you need a 9 to get their advertised specs. Maybe they go over w/ a 9, but XC 5s are plenty fine for me.

eBay is my go-to for batteries. 5.0’s usually run $50-60 and 9.0’s $90-100. Never had any issues, I always get one in the factory packaging, always authentic.

I’ve found that a bunch of my tools have better balance with XC batteries. When held by the handle, my string trimmer is perfectly balanced with a 9.0. My search light is perfect with a 5.0, when I use a 1.5ah it becomes front heavy. Same with the Fuel Hackzall.

I understand that it was previously posted, unfortunately I don’t memorize the part numbers like you do, so it meant nothing to me. I added the description of the tool along with the part number and a direct link so anyone else that doesn’t have the time to memorize all the part numbers could see what tools are upgradable. I wasn’t repeating the info, I was enhancing it. Get off your high horse Sir Knowitall.

The tag didn't even make it to my van. I'm sure it's not anything people will like. I look on the cutters themselves

Yeah nothing stamped on the tool. But there's actually thick lube on all the joints. It's like a petroleum jelly almost.

I'm sure they'll be good. I have like one size of each from up to 3 ft I aqquired over the years. They have worked for me. All import brands

To tell the truth it grows so old all this COO banter

My fav's are some little maybe 9" ones for cutting fence wire etc.

Yeah bolt cutters always seem to work. I even had some of those $8 mini 10" maybe? From hf - I wouldn't call those good - but they worked.. the mid sized, comparable to these from Lowe's and hf both worked ok.. saw these in the store for the first time, said - eh these will be what I use the next time I'm on a roof or a ladder.. nice and small..

You were not trying to help anyone, you were trying to make a fellow member look foolish. I can, and did read what was posted, my post was an elaboration that I thought may help others. Get over yourself.
