I have the brushed and the one flaw I have with it is the way the handle and battery meet and my large hands, with just the force of using the hackzall makes the battery dislodge. Otherwise it's great and I can only imagine the feul is much better

Absolutely go with the Fuel whether you're thinking M12 or M18, definitely worth the extra cost. Big upgrades, besides the brushless motors there's longer stroke length, potted electronics, and a weep hole in the motor housing. I have the M18 Fuel version and have no regrets. I use it for everything: plumbing, working on the cars, cutting up pallets, cutting roots to pull out stumps, cutting conduit and unistrut, you name it.

Nice! How long would a 4ah battery last?

more like rebranded porter cables.

Craftsman-20V-Max-vs-Porter-Cable-Cordless-Power-Tool-Comparison.jpg

I don't own any cordless PC stuff, so I can't attest to their quality, but visibly they appear to be decent. I have some of their older corded tools and they've held up well. I love my mini worm drive 3.5/4.0" saw, but I've been using my M12 Fuel 5-3/8" for most things that size range lately.

After switching from DeWilt screw guns/drills to Milwaukee...I got all the love for the Milwaukee, which when I switched was a full 1.25# lighter - and that's a lot if you are doing repetitive tasks overhead or at arm's length.

Hi all,

I'm looking for a two-tool combination for power-sports and (rust belt)truck work.

Would you get 2553-20 and use adapters for sockets, or wait for 2554-20 and use adapters for bits? Or is there some reason why I might need both?

I'd like to pair this with 2767-20 or 2861-20, again I'm not sure which would be the better choice for my needs.

Thanks for any help, I'm on a tight budget and I'm trying to find a combo of the minimum amount of tools that will do all I need.

it is so easy to question what you need; there are tons of options. I don't havr impact stuff in 3/8, but if I was back in the midwest, I bet I would. Make a list of your core work, and what you need for those tasks. Do you want to buy bit sockets, and a few magnet bit sockets empty, or socket adapters? I think expanded 3/8 impact and 5/16 hex markets would be awesome, but that's not what is out there, and you know it too.

Easy enough to buy a tool-only to add on, later.

Right now, I want to dive into M18, but the M12 stuff makes so much sense. Good luck choosing. I am really close to Home Depot. lol

Here are my 2 new additions this week... I was finally able to find a table saw and this 3 1/2” cutoff came up for sale close to me to I picked it up too... had one on preorder that I cancelled.

How do you like that M12 cutoff tool? I have been thinking about picking one up. Does it seem under powered?

Finally preordered the M12 Cut Off Tool and the M12 1/4" Stubby. Was gonna preorder the 3/8" first but my lady wants to get it for me as a bday present. I notice lately Acme seems to play it safe with the expected shipping dates, but usually sends them out well before then. They're forecasting Sept. 24th for ship date, while other sites are saying the 15th or the 7th. Hoping for earlier. These 2-3 tools will add so much versatility to my work day. Especially with the 7"/9" grinder on the way.

Anyone have the new jumbo grinder yet? Or any of the M12 stuff? I see someone posted the cut off tool, not sure if they lucked out or if they're a tool reviewer.

The Gen 2 M18 Blowers are on sale for $99.00 @ Home Depot, link here.

Very impressive tool. Almost half the weight of my corded Toro blower and much more powerful. On the lower speed, it worked perfect for dusting my PC case. Also works great for fanning lump charcoal to get it started super fast. With just a 6.0Ah battery, I was able to make a quick run around the house and deck and blow all the wet acorns away without even hitting 2/4 battery bars. Can't wait til more leaves fall.

Still no mention of the mode lights not turning off unless it is in mode 3. My concern is the battery will die because of it. I've only let it sit for 5 full min & it stays on...I should bring it in and observe it and see if it does go until the battery dies...but that might take a while.

Well...ahem...In regards to torque...RTFM:

Had that happen to my M18 impact driver, sent it in and they replaced the the board that controls the led. Happy to say that’s the only issue I’ve ever had with any of my Milwaukee tools since I’ve owned them for almost 3 years now

Hmm depending on where you live and how many trees you have, the M18 might not cut it. Ever since I was one of the first to get Gen1, I have said it is useless for fall cleanup, Gen2 is barely noticeably more powerful to me. To do leaves in my yard on any October day I would need a wheel barrel full of 9.0s and 5x the time my backpack gas blower would do the job.

Dont know if there are going to be any new Sept promos but labor day sales coupons should start anyday now.... Still doubtful of chainsaw BOGO for Sept or Oct... Stubby M12 3/8 with a BOGO would be nice.

Realized the other day, the Fuel ratchets have not had any BOGOs since preorder deals. Still need the Fuel 1/4 to complete my collection and I already have the boot lol.

I'm fairly new to this addiction. I've got a few M18 tools (Blower, string trimmer and radio). Looking to get an M12 drill/driver and hex impact, specifically, the 2598-22 kit. The best I've been able to come up with is Ebay for $215 with a free 6.0 battery. (Link below)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Milwaukee-...FlatRateBox!13431!US!-1&LH_ItemCondition=1000

Is this something that would go on sale, or goes on sale regularly?

Thanks

Re: The Milwaukee addiction thread! 😊

No, he had asked about these types of boots about a month or two ago to see if there was any interest. I guess he had partnered with some company to make these custom ones.

If he was smart, he’d make battery boots.. but pass on the carnival candy apple color for me....

The local tool store has the big grinder, new circular saw and the chainsaw on display. The grinder seems lighter than the traditional 9" corded grinders. Not sure how the balance will be with a 12ah battery on the end

The chainsaw seemed a lot heavier than the Makita dual 18V next to it

They have the batteries at a different spot in the store, behind counter without the packaging. That new 12ah battery is huge. Makes the 9ah look small and is bigger than two 6ah together. 6ah are as common as 5ah up here

These tools are great but you need to get the larger amp hr batteries, you'll get longer run time from tool.. these tool will grow legs and walk away(get stolen) 3 times the rat ******* hit my work truck. Keep your tool safe and out of site.
The cordless vacumes are really sweet, luv the 1\2" impacts but I need to get other impact haven't replaced that one yet. The next will have one key (track tools). Nice set up you have. On sawzall keep the blade holder clean , oiled for effort less blade change outs..

The chargers come with 12 and 18 v slots, get both . I've got both voltages at this present time.. just got the 2553-22 kit. What drew me to this model was self tapper setting.. high rpm then slows down not to strip screw really sweet.. 4 mode drive control ...this impact driver has power 31\2" screws baried into wood less than 5 sec.. awesome!! 6 ah batt is largest for 12v ..
Luv their corded stuff .. I got lots of Milwaukee power tools..

Check toolnut for M18 bogo offers on Fuels... only THREE days so be quick about it.

This seems to be the same as HD:
milwaukee-free-battery-with-m18-impact-wrench-tnp114.jpg

$219, with a free 5AH battery.

Also expires 31 Oct, so a little while left. I cant see how the $30 off is working either, as its $219 down from $229.

Am i missing another BOGO?

My experience exactly with a Fuel Sawzall. Running like a champ again.

Stu found out which lights dont take 12.0, which can be adapted.

https://toolguyd.com/will-it-fit-mi...ompatibility-and-details-about-free-upgrades/

Dont know if I wanna box and send them my stand & radius lights even though free. Will have my hex fixed when I have them do the warranty work. Good thing my new M18 radius/flood showing up today takes the 12.0

Supposedly 12 works in wet/dry vac V2, dont know if V1 can be adapted. When 9.0 came out joked V1 box vac would blow up with it in it, definitely will with 12.0.

I was looking at my new M18 2144 Radius Flood light and was thinking does a 12.0 really fit, while I wont know until I get one I pulled up all the battery dimensions. Whats interesting is the new HO 6.0 is bigger than a HD 9.0. Also if they did make a new compact 3.0 with the new cells, its only going to be a little smaller than an XC battery, no where close to as small as a compact 2.0, it would definitely be wider and longer, perhaps only 1/4" higher.

H x W x L
12.0 = 3.9 x 3.4 x 6.0
6.0 = 3.2 x 3.3 x 5.5
9.0 = 3.4 x 3.1 x 5.1
5.0 = 2.8 x 3.1 x 4.5
2.0 = 1.4 x 3.1 x 4.5
