Upgraded my old 2407 to an LFA 1/2" chuck. The chuck feels a little rough but it locks down nicely.

I shoulda done this long ago, no reason to be limited to 3/8" capacity as long as the user understands the limitations of the drill itself.

The 2407 is standard 3/8-24 mount

Does Milwaukee make a pack out box or any type of storage container for their cordless 10" cordless compound miter saw? I'd really like to get one, but storing it is a concern.

Well it is too big for the packout but a clever woodworker could use the saw to make a nice lightweight plywood box sheath. Close down the saw, slide it into the open box on its side, secure it, and then use the exposed side handle to carry it like a suitcase. Casters on the bottom would be a bonus or you could just bungee it to an inexpensive HF dolly.

Called last week for kicks to find out why the 3/8 MT order was canceled. Girl was having computer issues supposed to get back to me, was on vac and didnt hear. Called today, seems the girl authorized the order to be recreated. Guy on the phone and I were having trouble making the numbers work from my memory, forgot the $20 coupon, he said that should not of worked on the order, but his fuzzy math had it at only $8 more so I said whatever I will take it.

Basically getting the 3/8 MT 5.0 kit for about $260.

Might have to delay the M12 stubby 3/8, M12 rocket, and a few other unnecessary tools....

As I thought the website had an error, the kits were not supposed to be lower prices plus additional 20% off with accessory, so it was a mistake double disc. My mid torque order was canceled but my 2997 kit shipped. So perhaps they let each customer get 1 error lol

I've had issues with 2 separate Milwaukee orders vendor ship through HD getting cancelled. It's as if I'm cursed to not own any Milwaukee

Wow this took a while (I sent it out just before the Labor Day weekend started) and was not so happy about the return shipping packaging seeing I had sent it in with the original box that I had kept from purchase 4 years ago, and THEY sent it back haphazardly tossed in a beat up carton that the bottom was almost gone when I got it and the tool was falling out.

But it is repaired under warranty at N/C to me...shipping included.

May be a few xtra scratches from when I sent it in though :(

Then again it is a working tool....dings and scratches are all part of the job somedays.

I just got my M18 hex flood light from repair, also not happy with box packing. But got brand new replacement for a request on loose handle and upgrade to allow 12.0.

They don't want anything besides the tool. Don't send an auxiliary no handlenof a hammer drill, or a rubber boot to an impact. Similar with other send in service centers. I know I lost an accessory for something I sent in once. Lesson learned

Sometimes this works to your advantage. When I sent in my 0884 blower for repair they just shipped me an entire NIB unit so now I have double the attachments.

Ditto for a recent Motorola phone warranty claim - shipped just the phone, got one back NIB so I got an extra "turbo" wall charger, cord etc

Those of you complaining of poor packaging, are you sending to GA via e-service, or an indy licensed repair facility?

Everything I've received back from e-service has been fairly well packaged in a Milwaukee-logo'd box.

The new m12 rocket tower light is available for pre order if anyone didn’t see the other post. $149.. I couldn’t help myself.

i ordered it at that price as one of my 4 items to get 15% off during the acmetools.com sale early in the month. no update on when it will ship yet.

was going to wait and see what "deals" manifested, but decided to just pull the trigger for 15% off. dont need more batteries or random other things, rather have the 22.50$ in my pocket.

They got nothing but the tool was a bare tool box anyhow and the grinder I sent just after took everything off handle, guard, wheel nuts.

My stuff was all done E service and both had to be sent to Greenwood Mississippi from Vermont.

Haven't even gotten a confirmation on the grinder being received either, that was sent out on Sept. 5, did get one on the impact tho

Oh ya the grinder was in original box too ;)

Honestly I dont think its any diff than the 9.0 upgrade, so if you have the 9.0 upgrade a 12.0 should work maybe.

The new one I got is identical to the freebie promo one in the One Key set from last xmas, which I think was like the one I sent in which I had upgraded to the 9.0.

What does the 12.0 upgrade look like on that?

I really want to upgrade my M12 Fuel 3/8. I know once I get my hands on it I will also want the 1/2. Really tired of urge to upgrade.

For socket/anvil tools I have
M12 3/8 Fuel Gen 1
M12 1/4 & 3/8 Ratchets
M12 Fuel 3/8 & 1/2 Ratchets
M18 Fuel One Key 3/8
M18 Fuel 1/2 HT Gen2
M18 Fuel 1/2 MT
M18 Fuel 3/8 MT

What happens when Stubby M18's come out. Wish all Fuel M18s were One Key. Because when an upgrade comes, the One Key upgrade is many months behind. What are you gonna do upgrade from old Fuel OK model to new Fuel regular then to new Fuel OK when it comes out.

BTW I know here we dont care about the non Fuel brushless, but did anyone notice all the new brushless tools released? Been forgeting to mention for like a month because I dont care about non Fuel unless its the only option.

Pic w/ 6.0, sold off my 3.0's earlier this year and bought 6.0's off ebay USA, picked them up in the USA, much cheaper than buying in Canada

Mine will fit a 9.0. I didn't realize that there was a previous upgrade. The date of manufacture on mine is the 45th week of 2017. I need to call about upgrading my 2135 tower light, I'll ask about this one at the same time.

Pretty sure they will tell you it accepts a 12.0.

Unless they did not upgrade my replacement to 12.0 and perhaps sending me the self service kit separately.

So what's the deal w the chuck on the 2804? Improved?

It certainly has a better feel than the Milwaukee chucks of old... debating if I want to order the 9/16-18 Rohm...

Also, upgraded my 2404 to a Rohm chuck and my M28 drill to a Metabo chuck! Both are 1/2-20 mounts

I've now upgraded 6 of my Milwaukee drills to anything but the OEM chuck (Rohm/LFA/Metabo)

And I wonder what the NEW non-Fuel but Brushless uses for a spindle mount (the 2900s)???

Did you try it on a lug nut? If so, how much was it torqued to? I haven't seen any ⅜ reviews on here yet.

This thread has cost me so I thought I would finally join the board. I have purchased the m18 rocket (2031), high torque 1/2 M18 Fuel impact and a m12 hammer/driver and rover light. The free tool and free battery/charger deals were too good to pass.

I have been very happy with my 18V Dewalt tools for woodwork but excited to use the Milwaukee's on auto projects as a hobby. Definitely like their selection.

Trying to decide now on fuel vs non fuel 3/8 ratchet, size is deciding factory, or skipping those and getting the 3/8 or 1/2 stubby impact. Want something to quickly run out/in bolts.

i always go FUEL if it is available. it usually doesn't seem like a lot more, although the right angle ratchets are a problem because of size. but the only one i have i got before the FUEL version came out, so it wasn't an issue at the time.

if i am interested in saving money on items that have been out for a while, i go CPO and get a refurbished one. i have never had problems with them. once i even got a box labeled -80 (refurb tool only), and inside was a refurb tool, new 2AH and 4AH M12 batteries and a new M12 charger, all in a nice plastic case.

I have the Fuel 3/8 & 1/2 ratchets but will never get rid of the regular 3/8 & 1/4 ones. Old ones are smaller and faster but less powerful. Last big car fix I did, used regular 3/8 & 1/4 and the fuel 1/2, hardly used my fuel 3/8. Even have a spare regular 3/8 NIB for future.

The standard m12 ratchets were widely accepted as one of the best models to buy before the fuel models came out.. being priced cheaper now, i still think they are a great option and the smaller size seems like a real advantage in my eyes. If your goal is to actually break bolts free, the impact might be a better choice.

M12 6.0 battery for $47 shipped.. this is the cheapest buy it now on eBay i found, and only $12 more than the no-name versions..

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/273408985124

I was gonna buy an off brand, but really for an extra $12 its worth it. Not to mention I’m pretty certain the off brand wont be a true 6.0 anyway.

I dunno how these guys are doing these prices when the retail is $89 in the stores. Thats about 1/2 price with the tax included on retail.

Yeah, I have been considering taking back my just purchased m12 rover light (part of the $179 fuel hammer drill deal) still in packaging and exchanging it for the non fuel 3/8 ratchet (as the free tool) and then buying the rover/free battery deal separately.

Thank you. I'm thinking about trying to speed up removing bolts on my trans tunnel, trim pieces, fenders etc.

Watched a video of the Fuel stubby 3/8 impact and gentleman was using it to strip down an engine for work. Thats want planted the idea of using a stubby impact for trim bolts, fenders etc instead of the ratchet.

The last time I did a water pump on a Ford Windsor my original M12 impact driver (2450) with sq drive adapter was incredibly helpful. I think a stubby impact would just be that much better

There's a set of extra shallow sockets posted in the stubby impact thread for like $30.. seems like a great way to take advantage of the small impacts if access is your goal, but I can't tell ya just how much more shallow they are.
