Prices have always gone up right before Christmas.. cause the sales always come anyway. It's stupid I know..
If anyone happens to catch this - please post cause I wanna send it to a friend. HD seems to always do a "deal of the day" where they offer the big 15 tool kit at half price. Usually it's $2,000 a d they do a 24 hour sale for $1000 I believe. One day with a Milwaukee set, one day with a DeWalt.. it'll probably happen after Thanksgiving, and it's usually not the fuel tools, but that's fine. Friend of mine is flirting with starting his fiber splicing contracting company, and was asking me about that. Even though he'll never use half those tools, it's worth buying them at such a big discount.

Supply and Demand... plus price sensitivity … they apparently feel they have the corner of this particular market....
I want to say its tariffs. I dont think its holiday sale games. Kinda *****, guess I am not getting the new circ saw unless I can get it with two 12.0s on BF, CM, etc for $350. At least I got the table saw & chainsaw when I could. M12 Stubbies at 179 is outrageous.

So, if I am going to start down this path with Milwaukee as my cordless tools and looking at my first 2 tools being the 3/8 Stubby and the 3/8 Ratchet would it be better to go with a kit or get tools only and source the batteries & charger separate?

I just jumped into Milwaukee stuff this week; I ended up getting a bare impact, a radio that came with a battery and charger, and 2 batteries that were on sale. You really have to play the number game with the exact tools you want as every retailer has it's own deals at any given moment. In my case, I saved about $40 going the route I did vs. buying a kit. I find Milwaukee doesn't put together good "Mechanic's" kits, so you just have to piece it together.

when i started i bought them separately (tools, batteries, and a charger) from ebay. this way was the cheapest way to get exactly what i wanted, without paying more for things i didnt. over time i found some kits that were good enough deals, but largely my purchases have been "tool only" and "battery only".

Just a heads up, that kit includes the 6 1/2 circular saw not the new 7 1/4. I jumped on the kit and cancelled the order before it shipped.
Instead, you can get....
7 1/4 saw + (2) 12.0 batteries + Rapid charger = $400 (306638587)
Impact + Hammer Drill + Charger + free Reciprocating saw= $270 (306638798)
Little more and you lose the grinder and the light.

Besides the drill & impact, what other tools have One-Key coming? I did notice a SDS-max coming soon on the Milwaukee site, but nothing else.
The new One-Key drills will have Anti-Kickback technology, which I think is a more useful feature in the One-Key suite than most/all of the others.
The drill & hex impacts are the ones listed now. Dont know if the super sawzall or new circ saw are getting OK. Perhaps the mid torques.
Just realized I am surprised the M18 Fuel hack never got a OK model.
BTW not one key related, but I hate that new mode 4 on the HT 1/2 impact. The speed after busting loose is wayyyyyy toooo slowwww. Hoping I can customize this on my OK model.

I don't think the circular saw will get it, as it is usally full-out power on that, so no customizing. Then again, they included it on the table-saw, which for other than locking it out from use, I don't see a benefit.
The super sawzall could use it, but I don't think I'd take advantage of it like the 2721, because you now have a speed dial on the tool itself, but do like the blade-brake mode option on the OK.

You could maybe get a good deal on eBay with the 15% mobile app promo running right now on just the kit. My circular saw 12.0 kit today was $245 that way.
CPO still has it at 399 with free 12.0. others still at 449, don't know if 449 price will be permanently everywhere soon.

That’s very tempting. I was almost going to get the 5.0 rapid charger special from HD for $99 but a 9.0 would be great.
Pretty sure the M12 Fuel ratchets are the next thing you might notice a $20 increase on bare tool, already saw the 3/8 for $169 at some place when it use to be $149, and the 1/2 for $179.

So most of this thread is about the power tools, which I am sold on. But, what about the hand tools (screw drivers, wrenches, ratchets, sockets) are they any good? I just purchased a new tool box and when I start to stock it with tools I would like to have most of them from 1 line? I know that 1 company can't / doesn't always make the best of everything. I wouldn't be using these everyday either, just occasional repairs.
I am just looking for a good quality tool brand that isn't real expensive, good warranty.
Grew up on Craftsman, dad always bought Craftsman so its hard to think about going with a different line

Still shows on the Milwaukee web site, I found a few available online from different merchants available to purchase.
I have some Milwaukee insulated screwdrivers and I've used them enough to like them. That is to say, they've worked correctly and haven't hurt me, pissed me off, or broken. I particularly like the Milwaukee ECX bits and screwdriver for electrical work. I don't know if any other manufacturer makes something quite the same.
I don't have any of Milwaukee sockets, but having looked at them, they seem decent enough.
The "problem" I have with stuff like Milwaukee screwdrivers and sockets is that very likely superior items can be had for, in most cases, less money.
That being said, I suspect you can't go wrong with them if they're what you want.
Thanks for the lineup photo - it shows the size differences. The 1/4" brushed and 1/4" Fuel don't actually seem that much different in head size.
I have been considering getting a 1/4" M12 ratchet. What is your opinion on the differences between them?

Not Milwaukee, but if anyone is into shotguns for the holidays - you can get the Remington Tac 14 for $269.. with discounts - you can build your own 12 gauge Remington SB Tac 14 (that's with the pistol grip and "arm brace") for $390.. that's a great deal.. ask me how I know
