Finally ordered my 3/8" stubby. Got it for $140, wish I could have gotten it when it was under $120 though.

Thank you sir. $169 after the boot and for some reason CPO charges sales tax even though I don't believe they're in Wisconsin.

Some background -

Wisconsin Sales Tax Effective October 1, 2018.

Beginning October 1, 2018, Wisconsin will require remote sellers to collect and remit sales or use tax on sales of taxable products and services in Wisconsin. New standards for administering sales tax laws on remote sellers have been developed by rule. The rule is consistent with the Court's decision in Wayfair, which approved a small seller exception for sellers who do not have annual sales of products and services into the state of (1) more than $100,000, or (2) 200 or more separate transactions.

Interesting. I don't think this has been enacted across the board yet as I am certain I have made purchases online since 10/1 without sales tax from businesses with far more than $100k in sales.

Do I need the m18 polisher?
I’m in the m12 club ... deep into it.
Polish the **** out of anything with a roloc felt wheel on the m12 polisher and the m12 ‘dremel’ for smaller stuff.

Picked up this Milwaukee 2860 yesterday, paid less than what I did for the M12 stubby impact 2554, looks like the 2763 will sit on the back burner now

You have to buy sometime, and it’s great that Milwaukee wants to improve its products. I have the original tower light as well.

Has anybody else had any trouble with the M12 soldering iron? I was really excited about it and used it for the first time today... I'm holding it and the metal part that holds the tip began drooping and the plastic next to the metal parts is melted... The darn thing started melting itself...

Do I just have a defective tool, should I send it back for replacement? Or is there some kind of rule like you can't leave it on for more than two minutes or something (I didn't read the manual)?

I have used mine a few times so far without issue. It's probably been on 3-4 minutes at a time. Hopefully you just have a defective tool and it's not a widespread issue. It's the first time I've seen it mentioned.

EDIT: I stand corrected. One amazon review stating the same. Melted on first use.

Good tool, people whine all the time but the pin is has always been fine with me. Not like most of them are on a production assembly line and need to change the socket over 3 times in 5 min or something like that :lol_hitti

And really just takes a moment to release, keeping a removal tool handy like a small screwdriver, or rivet pin. I actually keep a small piece of coat hanger wire in my 37pc HF impact tool case, the one I tote to work on steady basis.

Or a stubby extension. Like this HF 1 3/4" There also a 2-1/2" and for the $10 price of the 4 pc kit ($8.00 with 20% of coupon is worth it just for those two) The two bigger ones **** :spit:

I've only used mine a couple times (other then playing with it), no issues thus far. I wouldnt think it'd only be able to run for a couple minutes at a time.

The pdf manual says gets to temp in 18 seconds and should be allowed to cool for 20min prior to being put away.

Wow I have used mine numerous times never an issue.

Provided the tip is in correctly and the knurled collar tightened up. Sounds like a defect...and sh*t happens but seriously don't be afraid to E Service it cuz it aint supposed to melt :wtf:

For the price I paid I am not going to complain, either keep a short extension on it or put the socket on offset from the pin so it doesn't catch the hole, easy

Where did you pick up the high torque from?

Also what are the 2 Gal vacuums like? Thinking of one to replace my drum shop vac as I’m not doing much woodwork anymore.

I like the 2 gal wet dry vacuum so far. It has plenty of suction, my only complaint (minor) is that the hose is fairly short. The unit is very compact and easy to carry.

Off topic but what tool chest do you have? I like that black top.

Has anyone else had this problem? I know - easy fix, but pretty disappointing considering this light is only a few months old and has seen very light use with little use of the magnet..

I have both, still haven't used either.. ageing gift cards were a good enough reason to buy them, and almost every accessory I thought I might use in the next 10 years. Lol

On a personal note - big non Milwaukee day for me today.. stay tuned ;)

Looks like a good excuse to buy the stick light IMO.
Stick lights are great for close work, but not for inspecting attics or crawl spaces. That magnet is a reoccurring problem that they've should have had fixed.

True, but I really just use this one for walking the dog. I was regretting not getting the spotlight when it was on sale with a free battery - when he roams ~40 ft away at the bottom of the yard this one is too scattered to see him well.

What stinks about the USB lights is theres no bare tool option, they all come with the battery. I have 4 of the USB batteries, would buy the 2 new lights right away on a coupon if they were $20 cheaper no battery.

Seems like a good excuse to buy the new USB light with the articulating head.. lol

Ya you would like the 2353 Tru View Spot Light out in the yard and will put the M12 flashlight beam to shame.

Get one of these NiteIze lights for you dog's collar. I love being able to pinpoint my dog almost instantly with this super bright light. Before that, but still used sometimes, is this LED strap that I put on over her collar & run it on blinking mode. I think both were around $5-6 each when they were on sale.

I will replace when Milwaukee releases something better :) On that, my dog is wondering when a heated coat for her will be released, though she might just fit in a modified hand warmer. lol

I have a realllly serious problem. Swore I would not touch the stubbies at 179.... couldnt resist when I got the notice that Toolbarn is giving $20 off orders, since if you buy 2 they throw in the 2.0/4.0 starter kit... Ordered two 1/2 stubby 2555-20, My buddies will carry most of the price increase lol

So by next weeks end I will own all 4 M12 Fuel stubbies

Ok here's more obscure than my previous requests of things like heat guns and rivet guns (all which came true).

I want an M18 tapping gun. I can only find in pneumatic. It needs to be about 200rpm (a 200/400 setting might be cool), take collets instead of a 3-jaw, and have a ROCKER trigger forward/reverse.

Thanks 2many. The REAL issue on why I need a spotlight for the back yard is to spot the whitetail deer that have been tormenting the puppy. It's a sore topic for my friends here in PA who have come up empty handed during hunting season while I have to throw rocks and yell to clear the yard for potty time...

My 3/8" stubby arrived today. Wow that thing is tiny. I knew it was small but didn't really grasp how small until I had it in my hands.

Well my M12 Cut Off Tool came today (and had it up and running in about 5 min )

Pretty cool little tool :D and can slice stuff fast I tried out the disc recommended for sheetrock/cement board.

Anybody have any leads on or directions to different suppliers with compatible discs beyond the Milwaukee's? :headscrat I do have basic metal cutoff wheels from a 3inch air tool I will use up when necessary. They also give a flange for 7/16 disc

Checkout the benchmark abrasives thread in the hot deals, I noticed that they also sell 3" wheels.

How bad is the dust cloud from sheet rock, too bad no dust port, same goes with the speed spiral cutter.
