Here's my priciest Milwaukee tool. 10 ton knock out kit was ~1500 new, you got the 2"-4" punch kit too but it's not pictured.

So who in this thread has the back pack vacuum and what do you think of it?

My wife really wants one of the cordless dysons to get dust bunnies and dog hair out from under the furniture on tile and hardwood. in my experience dyson has gone way down hill since my first “pet special” dyson 10years ago, the new ball style dyson my wife just had to have last year absolutely *****, and not in a good vacuum way, compared to our old one that she gave away. Can’t see myself paying $300 for another POS dyson, especially if the Milwaukee backpack is up to snuff

When I find it, I’ll take a picture of my 1/2” chuck Milwaukee magnum drill I bought when I first started construction when I was 18.

Damn thing is a rib breaker, and almost 15 years later, I can still count on it.

I’m sure it’s under the work bench. I just have to get to it...

Shark makes some vacuums/attachments specifically for this task.

I just bought one of the Cordless Dysons, the V7 Animal, and it's been great. I agree that the older ball style are not good, had one at the office a couple years ago and it was just awful. Bought the V7 after reading reviews online and talking to a friend that had one, and it's amazing. Not great for huge areas like an upright would be, but for the quick messes and maintenance cleaning it's perfect.

Not that long ago, I picked up one of the Home Depot $150 mid torque kits and yesterday I swapped the pin detent anvil for the friction ring anvil. It was no problem at all. I read that the polyurea grease may not play well with others, so I just moved the grease from the old anvil to the new.

Many vacuum in US *****, including Dyson. Example, all US vacuum sold for home use has the exhaust blowing down in front of the vacuum. That just means it is blowing away dirt before the dirt can be sucked into the roller. So basically you just pushed the dirt to a different place.

If you wants a real vacuum,in my opinion Meile is the brand. Or find a vacuum that does not have the exhaust pointed at the path of the vacuum.

I'm not sure if anything changes when it's opened. It wasn't apparent to me that there was a seal of any type. There is a magnetic strip inside, like an anti theft device.

I wonder if they would notice that the serial number is for a pin detent, and the tool itself is now a friction ring.

I admit I would find it pretty funny if they just replaced it with a new one that was pin detent . . . .. but I bet you wouldn't.

I wouldn't send it in anywhere or take it in with the friction ring anvil in it. :)

I just picked up the mid torque kit for $135 from HD today and now I'm trying to figure out the best place to pick up the new anvil. I've seen it several places just hoping someone can point me in a reliable direction.

5+ year Meile owner (wife is the user). Great vacuum, well worth the money.

Well there's no M12 tools for sockets that are left to buy.

I just bought one of the Cordless Dysons, the V7 Animal, and it's been great.

If you have a lot of hardwood floors or tile etc, then you need to get the absolute as it has the bare floor attachment. We have a two story house, upstairs is mostly carpet (the big dyson lives upstairs) and downstairs is mostly hardwood (we have the V6 absolute). It works perfect on the hard wood floors, but really doesn't deep clean the carpet. You really shouldn't expect it too either. The weight to push the brushes into the carpet just isn't there.

The heads are powered and seem to do a really good job. There are only minor differences in how much the different V6-V8 ****, most of the additional cost is battery capacity. The V10 has both increase **** and battery capacity over the lesser models.

My wife got one last year. Her mother has one in Germany as well. She swears and I agree that the US model doesn’t even come close. I favor our upright Shark which runs circles around it overall.
I haven’t sat down and looked at the specs but I have to suspect that it might have something to do with the amps that you can push in the US as opposed to the amps you can pull in Germany running their 220 power. Whatever the reason the German one is about twice as powerful and you can feel it sucking on the carpet. It even has a dial so you can adjust the amount of suction because it does tend to drag throw rugs along with it. The other thing was I think it cost about three times it much, ouch.

What do you think of the original ratchets vs the fuel versions? They seem a lot bigger and heavier but I went with fuel for more power.

I don’t like the bigger head on the fuel. Don’t need the extra power I’m fine with knowing it’ll fit anywhere

This. I purchased the 3/8” fuel and the 1/4” non fuel because of the overall size. The power difference on the 1/4” is only 30 vs 35 ft/lb and I prefer the smaller head.

Anyone have a good way to hide or turn off the light on the M12 heated gear? It attracts too much attention. I have a piece of electrical tape covering it.

For small bolts I prefer the original ratchets since they are smaller, lighter, and faster, my cars have a ton of 6-10mm that I use them all the time on. The Fuel 3/8 & 1/2 are good for larger things 12mm+, just wish they were faster. The Fuel 1/4 will be my least used one but at least its the same speed as the original and a lot smaller than the Fuel 3/8 & 1/2, its almost the same size as the original. I only got the Fuel 1/4 because it was such a great deal.

The last big job I did I found myself removing some larger bolts with the Fuel 3/8 or 1/2 and then using the original to put back on, then torquing them by hand.

Funny how I've wanted Milwaukee to integrate an dedicated light into the jacket.

What kind of attention are you getting that you don't like, or is it more from a theft aspect?

I went into a fast food place and the first thing they looked at was the red light on the jacket

Sometimes I'm fine with the light announcing here I am. But there are a lot of people who feel the need to tell me that my hoodie has a light on it. It gets annoying explaining that it's a heated hoodie to multiple people every time I have it on in a public space.

I've learned to just turn it off before entering whatever store or restaurant I am headed into.

I do like have in a light on the jacket to know that it's on, but I wish it was a little more inconspicuous. The button seems to be a sealed unit for water resistance. I doubt it would be possible to remove the light and still be able to throw it in the washer.

Everyone thinks I’m a wuss when I turn it on and it’s in the 50s or above.

Haha. Just kidding. The light is pretty bright and it’s the first thing people see. I’m getting tired of explaining it. I think I can design a cover that snaps into place. I’ll print it out tonight and post it tomorrow.

Done, that was easier than expected. The button on the jacket has a 30 degree draft angle that keeps everything in place.

I drilled a hole in the middle to get some light through, but I think it's too much light. Reprinting another one now.

Next step is to make it a little prettier, maybe add M12 emboss on it or something.

At my local Home Depot, the Milwaukee rep was there today making people some very good deals. He was offering discounts. Unfortunately I’ve gone a little nuts already and don’t need more.
