Stoked on the edger, hopefully can upgrade my old string trimmer somehow without having to buy a new one and sell the old one. Wish they would release a lawn mower already!

The first thing I do with any new saw is throw away the blade that came with it and toss a Diablo blade on it. I've got standard ripping blades as well as high tooth count finish blades for my 6 1/2", 7 1/4" and my 10" miter. Also just as an fyi homedepot has several Diablo blade options in the buy one get one free packages still from the holidays which is a good way to stock up on blades.

I really wish I had done it right when I bought it because the stock blade sucked big time. I got the 2 blade set last month and finally put the one on, I will have to try the fine tooth one tomorrow but it chews thru 5/8" plywood no problem.

I have it.. it works.. i dont have the m18 version to compare it to, but i can tell you the m12 is not one of those tools that makes you say “holy ****” after you use it.. its nothing over impressive, but it works just fine for small work - which is what its intended for anyway. They do make that right angle m12 1/4” hex chuck impact driver as well, which will also work for drilling with the appropriate bits..

Thanks for the info. I did not even realize they made an M18 version! However I think the M12 is fine for what I’d be using it for.

I have been doing drill bits in my impacts more lately so that may be the way to go.

I got the Ridgid drill head for the ryobi jobmaster and I’m taking it back, it’s way too large, heavy and off balanced.

Anyone want to educate me on a m18 floodlight? Best bang for the buck, etc. Thanks fellas.

I like the 6 sided 1300 lumens light with handle. I don’t like the magnetic river one. I like the articulating stick light but it’s not very strong. I don’t like the flashlight that comes with the kits. I do like the radius area light. I also like the rocket tower lights.

I have a new favorite use for my M12 right angle drill. Way more ergonomic than using a drill with the 3M decal eraser! Had about 12' linear fear of double sided tape that needed to be removed. This worked beautifully.

Looks like it would work well for a gasket remover pad too.

Hard to go wrong with most of their lights. I think the most versatile & brightest light is the 2360-20. 3,000 lumens & can be used with battery or extension cord. The tower light is similar in specs, but not so packable of a device, nor will you be using it under a car anytime soon (I guess if you laid it down).

Depending on what you are doing, the lantern puts out a decent amount of light as well. It can aslo be hung, switched to 360deg lighting from directional, and a USB port for charging devices. First light that goes on in a power outage here.

Agree the swivel head 2360 light is about the equivalent of decent halogen with 3000lumens and has the dual power option. Tower lights are sweet for full area worklights 2000-3000 lumens depending on model and the new 2131 version also has the AC power option now.

Can't really beat the original 2362 Rover light has some of most useful positioning flat bottom and hex sided directional angling along with keyhole hanging and pole mounting. Gives plenty of light at 1300 lumens

The new 2354 dual beam flood/spot search light is very useful with its swivel head @1250 lumens.

The sticklight is a handy service light and stands up well with the M18 battery packs. Max lumens is only about 400. Also hang hung with the attached hook

Once you define your lighting needs you can the narrow down the choices.

If your ever into others I highly recommend the M12 Rover model 1100 lumens and also the new USB rechargeable swivel light

So I finally got around to using the fuel 3/8 ratchet this weekend. Had to install my birthday present (speaker and amp for my Jeep) and that involves tearing apart the dash. Took all of 4 minutes wth that ratchet to have t all apart. Total job minus the wiring took an hour. Love it!

Scored the 2731-20 M18 fuel circular saw today. It was on clearance at HD for $189. Used a $5 off $50 coupon plus a $30 Christmas gift card to get it down to $154. I wanted to grab one before they were all gone. Glad I was able to snag it.

Yea I held the 2732 and did t care for the added weight. I made up my mind after reading some reviews comparing the two. I think I made the right choice for my needs.

I made this with mine this weekend, 5/8 plywood and 2x4s it went thru like butter and didn't even use a bar of power. FYI go back to HD and buy a couple Diablo blades because they make a good saw great.

Where does the xtra weight come in on a 2732 besides the monster 12.0amp battery?

Curious is the motor larger and the saw bigger? :headscrat

I haven't seen one to hold or really spec'd it out :dunno:

The 2731 has done allright for me for the most part though didn't want to cut thru the wet 2x PT lumber and 3/8" plywood stack on my wagon project went about a foot into it and just stalled and stopped :wtf:

Ya cuts SPF lumber and ply just fine not really anything bad to say about the saw at all. Good line of sight, excellent weight and balance, fast cut @ 5000rpm.

Makes my older 3200rpm 6 1/2" Makita seem super slow now

I believe the 2732 is able to achieve 5800 rpms with a HO 6 or 12ah battery, otherwise it maxes out near 5,000 rpms. The problem in store is they have the new saw stuck to a 12 with a metal cage to keep it from walking off. I don't think it would be so bad with a 6 & no cage.

Got the M12 underhood light from my in-laws for Christmas, got to use it for the first time on Sunday evening while replacing our dining room light fixture. Clamped it on to the railing and it provided plenty of light.

Looks nice, I eye'd that one for a while but never pulled the trigger

The price is what had me hesitating too, I was always looking for a deal on it but they must be selling well enough at the regular price. Luckily I kept talking about it to my wife (I would have never asked anyone for it) but I think she told her parents I really wanted it so that I would shut-up about it. It isn't cheap, but it is made very well and I do think it is worth it now that I've gotten to use it.

I will look at my dads saw label and then mine. I bought the one with the 12ah and he bought bare tool. I also know that the new saw come with a interchangeable dust shoot that can be hooked up to a dust collector or vacuum.

Doubt he has the 2732 new gen as I think they are only available in the 12.0 kit as well as the chainsaw, super sawzall, table saw, etc.

I was happily surprised when I got my 2732 and saw the vac dust port attachment. I cut a lot in the garage and hate the dust mess.... now only if they came out with a gen2 M12 Fuel circ saw with vac dust port.

Heard about this rumor a year ago...

Seen this on Instagram

If true...I'm so glad I held off last year from investing in the Ego lineup. Now if they would just come out with a snowblower too...we get so many snowfalls that take too long to shovel, but that don't really warrant breaking out the big gas blower.

After looking at the 5 head OPE pics again, I think we are all screwed who have the current wacker. it looks like many things attach mid shaft, not on the end. So the next gen might have a connection mid shaft that quick changes to a new head which has a 2' shaft already attached? Swear the current model has no breaks in the shaft at all. Not gonna be happy, really want the pole saw.

Guess I will have to wait for a promo, buy gen 2 wacker get pole saw for free and then sell my gen 1 wacker.

Picked up the 2598-22 kit for $145, must say im really happy so far. Big upgrade from my old drill.

Milwaukee collection growing pretty fast. Picked up the 3/8 stubby before chrismas and already got two more tools. Want to get the m12 polisher and m18 high torque next. Feels like this is going to be expensive

uuh was going to post a picture but apparently i need to have more posts :headscrat

Cop Tool did a nice comparison video between the two saws.

Thanks for the video

Wow at a 4 1/2 lb increase it will weigh even more than my corded Makita 5007NB :spit:

A contractor standard it weighed out @ 11.5 lbs and that is one seriously HEAVY saw.

And you sure don't want to be using THAT one for trimming rafter tails :lol_hitti

I just got a 9.5lbs reading on the digital scale with the 2731 bladed sporting a 5.0AH battery. I was actually surprised it was even that heavy seems so light especially compared to holding something like the 2763 High Torque impact.

Its all about the balance over the length along with the handle placement I guess!

You are 100% correct on the RPM’s being different for the saws.

Seems that the COP Tool video expressed the phase out of the 2731 even though the reviewers of the new 2732 all felt it was too heavy...go figure

Is a massive size increase for sure.

I'm after some advice from people who have the 3/8 m12 ratchets - do you use them much?

I got over to home depot (wow!) and had a look at the m12 fuel and regular ratchets. They were both bigger than I expected, the fuel was HUGE! I had planned to buy one, but weighing it in my hand, I'm wondering if I would use the stubby impact instead.

More likely than not you are only going to get positive responses on either model. And yes the FUEL is larger overall in the same drive size. I have the older 3/8 brushed and I use it often enough. It's not overally large but is a big time saver vs using a hand ratchet

I do use pistol style impacts more as needed where possible to break things loose. That's not the ratchet's strong point and they are really not interchangeable but the ratchet will fit where the others wont.

If speed matters to you on a job you will enjoy using one

Yeah don’t think they will be backwards compatible.

I am hoping it’s like the Ryobi/homelite/John Deere/craftsman expand it attachments that are all compatible with their powerheads.

Thanks guys, that's useful advice.

I'm tempted to pick up the non-fuel ratchet, at $99 with a battery its a bargain and I can always flip it. The problem is I REALLY want the stubby impact now and I hadn't planned on buying one of those, it's so much smaller than my 18v impacts.

Totally agree about trying the tool with a battery under a vehicle, but I'm just glad HD has them in stock, in the UK we can only get this kit online.

Really frustrating move on Milwaukee’s part. They look identical except for the quick-lok shaft. Pissed, nothing wrong with the current wacker.

Definitely want the attachments, so looks like I’ll be selling off the gen1.
