Re: found a brush attachment for my m18 vac

The hard plastic extension wands that come with many small shop vacs work pretty good for adapting end nozzles to the cordless wet/dry vac hose, (Milwaukee didn't make it easy to interchange)

I used a wand piece from a small handheld Craftsman vac that I had killed with sheetrock dust. They wand pieces are tapered on both ends so the small dia. fits your attachment and the flex hose goes nicely into the wider end, and by shortening the large dia. end just a bit makes a real snug fit on the Milwaukee hose too.

Might be able to shorten one enough to fit in the tank for storage,

Funny story one day I went to job and for the life of me couldn't find the flat nozzle it wasn't under the lid where it belongs

I finally found it in the bottom when I went to dump the tank later :lol_hitti

How it got there I'll never know :headscrat

You might be able to heat it with a heat gun and mold it to fit the Milwaukee hose.

thanks guys...the heat gun did the trick:beer:

New Milwaukee tool chests finally posted. $1200 for the new monster 56" combo and $600 for the new mobile station. I need to figure out a way to fit that 56" monster in my garage.

Looks very much like the Gen 2 which was only $900 (or was it $1000). Is there a difference?

The Gen2 from about a year ago was only 46", I think it was $1000 full price, quickly went to 900 then 800, got mine for low 700s delivered after everything. So I would be happy with the 56 delivered for low 900.

are those fold out shelves under the handles on the rolling boxes really worthwhile? looks like something I would be constantly bashing my ankles into. . . . ..

On my Milwaukee 60" workbench, my shelf isn't fold-able. Now I don't move it ever, but I do store canned items there, like WD-40 or similar items that I don't want residue left on the table top. I could see it being an ankle-basher in a lot of scenarios however.

On my 52 mobile center the M18 wet/dry vac lives there, on my 60 monster there is a small craftsman flip lid tool box. On the Gen2 46 combo it is not used as its in the middle of a line of boxes and cant spare the space. So its useful if you only have a box or 2 with space and not a long line like I have.

Interesting point. On my 60" I built an extension over it, so I've never thought about kicking it. But otherwise I may have removed it

Something doesn't jive with the Home Depot page. Looks to me like they picture is the old Gen 2 46" box.

Well, not the same picture, but the boxes look identical other than the electronic lock.

to me, the HD image certainly looks wider in relation to the height. look at the bottom drawers of the rolling cabinet on both for comparison.

Yeah, maybe it is wider. I'm digging the size of the smaller 40" myself, but I'm not digging the drawer layout. Too many tall drawers.

Curious to what is the front to back depth on that mobile workbench?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lately I need deep drawer storage for things other than the simple screwdrivers socket and wrenches, and I don't mind if certain cased items are double stacked in deep drawers (I know where they are) I just want them contained, generally out of sight and able to be secured if necessary

^^those were 22"

The Husky counterpart which was otherwise practically identical was 24"

That was the $350 HD website pricing snafu a couple years ago. Had I been buying at full price I woulda chose the Husky for the greater depth - OTOH I wouldn't have purchased either at full retail. $350 was just too good to pass up, and I did have a great USE for it but not a NEED

I see in that shot I hadn't yet replaced the center wheels with swivels, which was the best mod for sure

Wow $350 that's great!

24" is ok. though 22" would be good for me for one certain spot. I try to keep my bench and storage space narrow as possible where I can being my garage bay width is generally limited to about 12 ft.

26" is my widest wood built bench. My tool boxes are all only 18" I do have three 6 foot 1 1/2" steel angle iron x 1" pipe leg tables I got from the electronics factory when they closed. Two are a reasonable 24" wide but one is 36" that takes up a ALOT of room.

I saw that and cant understand the $100 price, it does include some bigger sizes but still. Can see this set at HD as a spring promo for like $80.

Also seems like prices havent stopped increasing due to tariffs maybe, saw the M12 Fuel 1/2 ratchet for $199 at some places bare tool which is outrageous.

New Packout Item, sort of. 1/2 sized packout designed for hole saws. $100 pre-order

I already have all those sizes, so I wish it was offered in the new carbide tipped ones.

Cuz Milwaukee feels people will buy "ANYTHING" that has their name on it

Plus it's "Packout" too! :lol_hitti

Don't quite understand myself why the need for a much larger packout case for something that always had a very neat and compact storage box anyhow

Didn't see the sizes listed at ACME anybody know? :headscrat

The 13 pc is $20 cheaper reg price

Agree the price increases need to stop

M18 vac
I like this little vac but the hose flops around like a wild baby elephant's snout. Today it was sucking around the workbench pegboard and I spied a fix. There was hanging a "Cable Cuff Pro" from HD. I picked up a few of these to organize some extension cords but they work great on the vac. Only issue is the HD orange vs Milwaukee red. Maybe I will paint it.

3/8" Stubby went up another $10 to $179. :willy_nil I can't wait for this to stop.

If it didn't cost another $10 to ship, I'd probably get one of these PopSockets

Also on the swag page, they say their drink tumbler is a Yeti. I got 4 of those on rebate last year. I had no idea they were made by Yeti.

Maybe I shouldnt sell the 2 I have until they hit $199 also lol. I think I saw the mid torques at about $190-200 some places. Crazy if the HT goes above $250.

I also wonder if the tariffs are making Milwaukee put pressure on retailers for the coupon exclusions, as they are eating some of the tariffs.

Not happy that there aren't many deals anymore, crazy when HD has the best deal/price once in a while.

Is there any speculation about a M18 fuel or updated wet/dry vacuum coming out? Seems like the current version (0880-20) is on sale most places.

For those of you that have one, does it leave a bit to be desired or should I take advantage of the sales and get it now?

Quick mini review... I was sent one of these to review:

https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Products/Power-Tools/Woodworking/Jig-Saws/2737B-20

My current jigsaw is a Bosch 1591 that is prolly 7 years old or so? The Milwaukee is decent and is perfect for rough cutting in my estimation, but I like my old Bosch better. Why? The Bosch has better ergonomics, speed control, and way better blade guides. It's also, obviously, A LOT lighter.

To put it simply, the old Bosch is just a better designed tool.

However, that's not to say the new M18 jigsaw is terrible. Cordless is a big deal to a lot of people and if they are in the milwaukee ecosystem this is probably the tool to buy. And while not as controllable or as comfortable to use as the Bosch, I'd guess you'd get similar results from it if you are patient and used it long enough.

But even though I am in the Milwaukee ecosystem, it's a pass for me. I don't really care about being cordless and nuts to bolts, I still prefer the 1591.

I love mine, i use it every other day to clean out my pellet stove.
It's light enough to move around, powerful enough to **** up anything i've needed it to. Easy to clean. Easy to store, especially compared to the large rolling tubs with hoses and extensions hanging off.
Though i haven't tried vacuuming anything wet but i don't see a need for that anytime soon.

Yeah man, Milwaukee's prices have been getting out of control for a while now. At least 1-2 years now if I had to guess. My tool procurement activities have more or less come to a halt. I went from a new tool every other month to a tool every other year. If tariffs truly are to blame, they need to get with the program and eat some margin which has to be extremely healthy anyways.

I have zero interest to flip some the herd for the newer gen models. That's a real problem for Milwaukee. They're not convincing me that there's value in their newer stuff. Another example is the Packout line...the pricing is delusional...I'm sticking with the Poorman's Packout (aka the original jobsite organizers). I know I'm just one person, but I can't be the only one. I'm sure they're raking in good profits but I sincerely believe they'd be greater if they brought their perceived value back to reality.

Thanks for that... I have the M12 version and was wondering if the M18 jigsaw was any better. I've used the M12 a good bit, but the blade guide kinda *****.

Nothing is so good that it can't be improved, but it's a really good vacuum as is, not as powerful as my full size shop vac of course, but plenty powerful for smaller jobs where it's portability is a great feature. Who wants to get out their shop vac after drilling a couple of holes in drywall to hang something. With this you can have the mess cleaned up before untangling the cord on the shop vac. And it's great for around the cat food bowl. I've even used it to clean the granules from new shingles out of my rain gutters and to clean the car.

Anyone know of when the pole saw will be available? I've found a sweet presale at ohio tools for $400 that includes an extra extension, but hesitant to pull the trigger since i'll need one in spring.
https://www.ohiopowertool.com/p-204...MIt82Zi-DP4AIVZB6tBh1Kww9-EAQYASABEgIkk_D_BwE

Actually HD has the pole saw & edger attachments listed as available to purchase & ship next week, but of course not the main unit. Says they will ship next week, but also could be a mistake

Chicago stores (i checked zip 60060) have the main unit kit in stock!

You all here seen the Ryobi battery power inverters yet? :dunno:
Seems there are two...

a small one 300W

AND a larger twin battery 1500W

The kicker is they use the 40V battery and not the smaller 18V

https://toolcraze.net/ryobi-ryi300bg-300-watt-40v-battery-powered-inverter-generator/

https://toolcraze.net/ryobi-40v-150...uPJLrTTkMF7QruzjQXXsEPS-nInqEPhinaHy4_BU5-Tdg

Hmm I wonder how the bigger one will do w the 2.6 or 3.0ah batteries. They do offer a 5.0 in the 40V but I'm swimming in 2.6's
