Pretty slick, but I wouldn't buy one at that price.

The genuine Rubbermaid carts are as much or more, and probably hold up better.

Eh - on second look I’m guessing an electrician really doesnt have a lot of small hand tools to be locking up anyway.. I’m guessing thats why they opted for 1 drawer. Some fold out hook on the side for a 6’ step ladder might have been appreciated.

The ladder is typically hung from the end opposite the handle, usually a piece of Unistrut that is screwed to that side, open side up.

The sparkies on the commercial jobs I have been on usually have a surprising amount of tools and hardware in the top part, and they almost ALWAYS have some sort of tool cart.

I would be concerned about the long term durability of this cart, and loosening up at all of those screw points. The Rubbermaid carts are pretty indestructible, this Milwaukee one would have to almost drive itself. The Harbor Freight version is nice, but the loose handle section always irritates me.

The V notch is nothing special, one of the Rubbermaid type carts already have them, or they are cut in by the user. I know that someone makes an electrician specific Rubbermaid type cart with the holes in the legs for wire spools.

Milwaukee used to make two or three versions of a plastic structural foam trades cart that was pretty slick, and expensive. It was probably too big in size for most typical commercial work, and hauling it around.

No they don't at least on my jobs...they are always asking to borrow something :lol_hitti

I don’t see anything special that couldn’t be easily added or modified by the end user to make a cart suited to their desires. It’s one thing if the cost was competitive or close to it. But I sure don’t see an extra $200-$300 worth of features.

Thus far no real complaints on the powerhead, string trimmer or edger. Yeah the trigger safety *****, but seems easy to disable.

It looks real but a friend bought a kit from homedepot where someone did swap battery for a knockoff one and returned it. Wasnt very happy to find that in his box. Exchanged without issue anyways. But worth a check for serial numbers and stuff

Yeah, the original 9.0 was the highest output battery when it came out, so it got the gray label.

Now to differentiate the HO batteries from the 9.0, the HO batteries all have a gray strip, while the newly manufactured 9.0's get the standard black label.

Nice!

I'm still pissed that Milwaukee doesn't sell a kit to make the gen 1 whacker have the Quik-lok attachments. There's literally NOTHING wrong with the gen 1 whacker.

Now...while this cart looks cool...probably from being tipsy on the Milwaukee Kool Aid haha...they are commanding yet another insane price. $400?!?! Are they HIGH?! I wonder if they're offended by regular Joes (as opposed to construction companies) buying their tools. Sure seems like it to me.

It's dumb. My money is green. They've been making it effortless for me to look the other way. Their pricing is literally out of control.

Comes out cleaner with the edger. String trimmer does ok, but it's super simple to change attachments so why not.

Eh guess we’ll disagree. I actually think it comes out cleaner with string and you can do all the beds, curves, and corners. What I matters is your happy with it though which is cool. Only time I used the edger when I worked landscaping was if it hadn’t been edged in a long time or the streets we had 25-30 houses in a row. The long stretches were where the edger was really worth it.

And where I live, most have asphalt driveways, so you can't really use one. And on the property I didn't handle last year, the lawn crew tried charging for "professional edging," which I knew wasn't happening. Even asked one of the guys, and he said we can't because it's asphalt.

While I don't want the extra tool, man that's weird to say, I can imagine the edger being safer in operation. I have goggles I wear when I run it, but the string trimmer can whip some stuff up pretty good

Anyone feeling brave? 2 pack of aftermarket “3.0” M12 batteries for $24 shipped..

Assume “3.0” means “2.1” .. even still... the fact they spelled cordless wrong does not inspire confidence, but the other aftermarkets i have still work so far (although i dont use them much). But really, at $12 each shipped - how can you complain?

Upgraded 3000mAh Replacement for Milwaukee M12 Battery 12V 3.0Ah Lithium Xc 48-11-2420 48-11-2440 48-11-2402 48-11-2411 48-11-2412 Cordlees Tools 2Packs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MMZMRS2/?tag=atomicindus08-20

The 2 pack of 2.0’s are $20 ..

Well....not too good. I've got two. Seemed OK in my soldering iron and Dremel thing. Popped one into my shiny new (cute!) little sawzall to lop off a couple of little pieces of pallet sticking out. Started sawing and choked. Flashed the battery light. Tried again and the same thing, any pressure on the saw and it would just quit. Freshly charged. Popped in a genuine M12 and sawed away.

My conclusion is these off-brands will be OK for the low draw tools but not the high draw. Longevity I haven't compared, I don't work in the field where it's a big concern. Since I have a few batteries this isn't a big deal for me other than I now have to pay more attention to which battery I am grabbing up for what.

I feel like I pretty much got what I paid for with the off brand M12's, so... can't complain really.

Seeing as how it would cost about $12-$15 to manufacture a 3.0 battery there’s no way they’re legit. They’re either a lower amp hour battery and/or not rated for the high power draw a tool battery needs. At that price the only thing I would consider using is the case to put my own cells in.

I haven't opened my new trimmer yet, but wondering what people have done to disable the secondary safety switch. Spot of super glue?

I also haven't seen it asked, but has anyone tried using two extensions? :pimpflash

When I was comparing the old & new, I didnt realize the old one had a saftey, thats how it should be easy and not noticeable. Not sure what to do about disabling the new one.

I also dont understand the weird shape of the guard on the new trimmer. Never thought the guard on V1 was that great, seems like even less likely to prevent **** flying back.

I wondered that about multiple extensions when the system was first announced, assume its a no no.

Also in the trimmer kit is a mystery piece, its a 1/8" steel rod about 4" long. The manual says nothing about it. There's a small hole in the top of the trimmer collar where it connects to the pole, I think it goes in there, but for what and why I do not know.

Just as bad as the manuals for the drywall gun & collated mag not showing or telling you the proper way to connect them....

Well the product listing is up for the M12 rocket with 6.0, expect the price to become $149 on May 1....

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...0-Ah-M12-Battery-2132-20-48-11-2460/309026613

I asked a a sales guy & the supervisor of the pro area, when this sale was going to happen. I said it was unusual to not have dates on the promo side. He said the already had it for pro week. I replied I didn't think that was the case. Pointing out the shipper just arrived last week, I was in 3 HDs the Pro week & saw no promo of it, & was boot on the website. He told him that was the case, it was advertised nowhere. He then offered to meet in the middle & take $50 off the battery. I countered with $50 off the light, which he gladly accepted. If the promo was working it would have been $90 for the light out the door, instead of the $100 I paid. Maybe I'll be able to return/rebuy w/ $50 discount AND battery.

It's just an extra tool included for locking the trimmer head if you want to remove the trimmer head. There is a small hole on the gearcase that you can insert that metal rod to lock the trimmer head.

I have the ryobi gas trimmer and the ryobi roto tiller.. Was surprised by the power and force that tiller works.. Dont know if battery might get it done??. Maybe lite duty..

Actually I don't intent to be fully tilling with it. Just using to scratch in later applications of fertilizer. Right now I'm using a Fiskars manual tool.

That was pretty accurate...

7 poles replaced, 72 bolts to hang cables. I’m still trying to scheme to get myself the new impact. I may have met my match with my “by the book” manager. He may take some wearing down.

Got to watch the m18 chainsaw cut up a pole - pretty impressive.

I didnt realize till the second day, but if you zoom in on one of the pics above theres a billboard that says “Accidents Happen”. Lol

I wished i woulda snapped this one 5 minutes earlier.
20190416-132348.jpg

There’s a corded Milwaukee 5/8 hex impact up there somewhere.

So HD F'd my order up for the string trimmer and hedge attachment. I went instore to pick it up...and they only have the Hedge attachment....WTF? Supposedly the string trimmer is coming tomorrow. I just went online, they took 10% off, because of the confusion.....Whats the odds I can now go in to pick it up tomorrow, and use a $25 off $200??? If not, no big deal, have other things to buy.
