Worth trying. Technically, i dont think they are not suppose to stack discounts - but that will all depend on who you get at the register, or the manager. What’s the worst they can say? No?

So my trimmer/hedger combo is supposed to arrive in store next Wednesday (nothing should take a week anymore). Last night picked up a Fuel impact driver, two 5ah batteries, and a charger (all new) from craigslist for $180. Apparently the guy bought a set just for the packout. Now I'm keeping my eyes out for sales or deals on a few other tools.

What have you assholes done to me?!

Looking at a mid torque on craigslist, it's listed as NEW. If I get it can I still register it for warranty? Or do you have to have a store receipt to do that?

I haven't opened my new trimmer yet, but wondering what people have done to disable the secondary safety switch. Spot of super glue?

I also haven't seen it asked, but has anyone tried using two extensions? :pimpflash

Their are some videos on instagram with 2 extensions and the pole saw at the end. Looked pretty sturdy.

There is no register, and without a proper purchase receipt on a new item they go by the date code (manufacture date) in the serial number for whatever the warranty duration is supposed to be

There will be four sequential numbers following the first 5 digits (a mix of letter and numbers) and those are the yr/mo

Mid Torques are fairly new so there should be a good portion of the 5 year warranty left I would think.

Just received my Quik Loc string trimmer and hedge trimmer attachment. Alot heavier than my existing Troy bilt core trimmer, but hopefully will get used to it. Just used a drop of epoxy to glue the stupid safety switch down. The safety button still has to be depressed, just not the extra switch, in the switch.

There must be some power loss with each extension and extra load on some mechanism.

The guy in the video just had his warranty voided LOL

Would like to hear the official Milwaukee take on more than one extension.

IDK, the Milwaukee and ego ends looks exactly the same. Thinking ego attachments might fit.

I imagine if Ego & Ryobi have tillers. Milwaukee will soon. Not too many more attachments in this category as I see it. I know Echo has a blower attachment, which if outfitted to blow out gutters, could be a useful accessory. Otherwise I would be picking my dedicated blower. I'm going to head to HD right now, and see if the Ryobi universal tiller will work. I might wet my plants there on the spot if it does. :)

While watching a Toolbarn overview of the new attachment system tools, they said it's for a crew who doesn't want to haul so many tools in the trailer. I think that it is almost the opposite. If you have a crew, the most you can use of any of those tools is one, unless of course you have more than one head, which sort of defeats through purpose.
Many only need a trimmer, which makes getting the Gen1 on clearance make sense. Or I almost sold my hedge trimmer after hearing the announcement of the attachment tool, but then realized I never see myself needing that, & being more difficult on close up work. If I do, i will hopefully be rich enough with my high-*** hedges to hire it done. And any tree pruning I do is when all the foliage is off.

What’s wrong with safety switch. Just press it once and forget about it. At least that’s how mine works. You don’t have to hold it and the throttle to keep it going at all times. Just press it and keep finger on throttle and your good.

Do you have the 2nd Gen? There is a 2 part safety switch on the new model. I dont like the feel of it, and also glued mine.

Just scored a Milwaukee Chain saw attachment, and 3ft extension for my new Quick Lok trimmer. $210 shipped from HD, with a $25 off. I guess all i need is a blower, and I can get rid of my Troy bilt Core system.

Holy Guacamole! :bounce:

Fed EX courier just brought my return package from the warranty E Service I availed myself too when my 3 speed 2653 impact driver began to not work correctly...

I got a Brand NEW 2853 4 speed impact driver with all the accessories bit holder and belt clip.

What a stubby little guy it is :spit:

Kinda' miss my old one but cant look a gift horse in the mouth as they say. :D

Just for the record no mention was made what the problem was with my old impact driver and the invoice just says replace tool/warranty/good will and a list price of $224 my returned one was listed at $118 value

Hopefully they do, it's only possibility left. I looked at the Ryobi & Echo attachments at HD yesterday, and they are both a square drive system. There were no Ego attachment trimmers available for me to try out.

My hd doesn't stock any attachments for the ego. Online only. Strange.

Just about all of my corded tools are Milwaukee. I have a 1/2 in 2 speed Hole Hog thats probably made enough chips to fill a rail car. I also have a scar on my lip from when the 2-9/16 inch bit found a nail! Its had a trigger and a couple of cords replaced but has been well worth the original cost. I have a couple of other drills, a hammer drill, a rotary hammer, a sawszall, a saber saw, a chop saw, a large and small hand grinder, and maybe a few other tools. Yeah, I'm a fan!

I am contemplating purchasing the Milwaukee trimmer, just wondering would it be possible to install a cutting blade for small twigs / bush. I have a larger brush-cutter but this would be more convenient and user friendly for the gf. Has anyone tried or no way to attach the blade?

Thanks, Jon

I don't think it is. The trimmer head is pretty self contained, and can't think of a possible mounting spot, but I'm just a backyard engineer.
It is very particular on its own. I use it to cut switch-grass (like straw) when I need some for gardening, and never has a problem. Though maybe they will come out with a blade as another attachment.

Does anyone have some real world experience with the M18 8-1/2" table saw?

I consider wood a four letter word but on occasion I have to work with it. I currently have a Hitachi 10" table saw and it fills all my needs for a table saw. Sam moving my entire shop almost 1000 miles and I'm thinking I may leave the Hitachi behind for my son as he just bought his first house.

I'm thinking that with my limited use of a table saw, a cordless saw would be great. I'm not sure about going from a 10" saw to a 8-1/2" saw. Since I'm building a new house and shop I don't need much of an excuse to justify a few new Red tool purchases.

So who has this saw and what do you think of it?

I like it. I’ve ripped a ton of 3/4” pine with for a camp interior. Haven’t cut any 2by material yet. Way better than running a generator all day

Buddy was over and taking about vac attachnents.

V1 wet dry vac fits M12 3" cutter dust port but not the 2732 circ saw dust port.

V2 wet dry vac does not fit M12 3" cutter but fits the 2732 saw port.

WTF Milwaukee can't you use one size dust port on all tools. Forgot to check the M18 palm sander...

If that's the case, I think they should offer an adapter for anyone running into a mis-match issue

Picked up a 3/8 m12 fuel ratchet and xc3.0 battery along with m18 hd12.0 battery from a guy on offer up today. All new in box and much cheaper than anywhere else I could find.

I never realized how big those 12.0 batts were. That puts it into perspective.

And I thought my 9.0 was huge. LOL

Man, those 12s are huge. What are you going to lug that around in?

It would be good for a saw/vac/light, tho.

stationary saw. the sawzall & chainsaw are definitely usable with a 12, but I throw a 6.0 HO anytime I have the chance. The 12ah is always on my Fuel blower. Little better performance, and the runtime seems longer than the 25% more it should be than a 9ah. It seems much more efficient per AH with the 21700 cells.
I was going to get rid of all my 12's aside from 1, but after seeing the potential powered packout cart, I decided to hold on to them.

My friend complains about the 6.0/12.0 because you have to remove the belt clip/hanger from drills & impacts for the battery to fit.

That's a deal breaker for me on those tools - the belt clip/hanger is much more important to me than the battery. When I'm working on something, I can remove the bolt with the impact in one hand, hold the part with the other hand, hang the impact on my pants with the first, then use both hands to finish the job. Same in reverse - hold the part with one hand, start bolt with the other and then reach down and grab the impact and fasten it.

Not having to think about setting it down, having to walk for it, drop it, pick it up, etc is super valuable to me. When I use others tools, the lack of the clip is really frustrating.

You will have to switch to a bungee cord they of course now offer. I wouldn't even want a 6.0 on my impact. Now the new 3.0 compact HO is another story. Hopefully they design a hook to be used with that battery. Any heavier, and I don't want it hanging from me.
