I posted this in another thread. Can anyone confirm or deny when Milwaukee warranties a battery, is it new, refurbished, or luck of the draw ?

I called customer service after having receiving my battery replacement. She was adament it was ~brand new~ as batteries cannot be repaired

The Battery I received was made in the 4th week of 2017
It's current charge state when I received it was at 1 bar......(aka, depending on how you perceive best storage practice and SOC of batteries)

They're new. And you're right about the SOC thing, all of their batteries (aside from when the 9.0s first came out...suckers were fully charged ) come out of the box with 1 bar for longevity/safety reasons. Your new battery should perform as if it just rolled off the assembly line

Likely, isnt the Dewalt Tstak dolly like $40, WTF

gotta pay for that extra year of labor creating it

No doubt, but I reallllllly want them ASAP. Had plans to get 6 of them, but no freaking way now. But is that really the price, if I order now and it drops to less I am going to go postal. Can use the $20 off Acme coupon now..... Maybe will order 2 and just make my own freaking dolly for the other stacks in the garage. Had I known it was $90, I would not of waited a year and made my own long ago.

I just spit out my coffee...$90?! That's the best joke I've heard all week.

Order 2 plus $50 in shockwave to get the free headlamp and penlight free via rebate, $210 spent today considering freebies whatever.

Going to make the other 4 I need before the 2 real ones arrive, will make something real nice and it wont have a wimpy 250lb limit either. Making the other 4 will probably cost less than $90 if you dont factor in my time....

F U Milwaukee !!

It holds 40 LBS more(TSTAK Stackable Utility Cart 210 ..the version with handles does 220)

One of the NPS videos showed a small appliance box being moved on a dolly I'm guessing the weight rating is one of the major selling points

Still its Crazy how much they want to charge ...12.99 without coupon gets you the 19-1/2 In x 14-1/2 In 200 Lbs. Capacity Polypropylene Dolly at HF you could easily print make your own brackets.

Actually the opposite IMO Derek. They use to come with proper SOC of 2/3. Due to shipping laws, etc - they are now at a low SOC. Storage SOC is generally around 70%

especially when you consider that the bottom rolling box is 130$. that dolly is 70% of the price for 10% of the utility . . . .

makes one wonder how much the bin they introduced will cost. . . . .

I believe the bin is only $30, or as described in one video as the nicest milk crate ever. Which sort of surprised me after hearing the $70 dolly cost. Guess they figure the pricing of the accessories needs to be higher to justify the cost of the Packout radio. Wish they just designed an adapter for the M12/M18 speaker.

One thing everyone that is planning on building their own won't have, at least not conviently, is the step brake. That has to be $10-15 dollars of cost that would make be willing to pay around $40, maybe $45 for.

So I’m guessing there wasn’t a lawnmower at NPS19????

No, but there were a couple of hints from the attendees that something is in the works. Probably be a spring 2020 release. It's not really the right time of the year to release something like that.

And the most credible rumor is that their never will be, as that is already out-dated tech. They are skipping to a lawnmower bot. I remember seeing that tech at Disney Epcot 15 years ago, and knew that's what I wanted someday. I'm sure Milwaukee could improve on the tech, and get more than an 8.7" cutting width, but still keep using the 18v battery. Though no matter the cutting width, if you aren't actually doing it, who really cares.

and that rumor, that was started here in this post. I really don't want to see a mower, unless it is a robot or a rider, and no 18v will be powering that monster (will just have to buy the Ryobi & give it a paint job). Reason being, is if they are taking time to design a mower, they took time away from something else I think would be more useful. I'm also becoming more & more against lawns, at least with the amount of investment they require for so little in return (fertilizer, weed killer, grub killer, water, gas/time and still mole problems no matter what). I'm hoping to convert a large section of grass to creeping sedum next year :)

I think a lot of people would like to see the full robot mowers. The problem is they don't want to spend $3000 to get one when it's only going to take care of a an acre at the most. And at that point your never going to take the battery out of it, so who cares which platform if any the mower is on.

Just because some guys don’t want push mowers doesn’t mean the rest of us don’t. I have a full acre and my John deer handles it fine but I still have to keep my old push mower for some tight areas around the property. I’d LOVE to get a Milwaukee push mower to get rid of my old gas one!

I love push mowing my lawn. My wife and I fight over who gets to do it.
Having a gardener is the best investment I have ever made as a homeowner and husband. No more nagging, complaints and lots of free my time.

So the new rear handle circular saw isnt a worm drive.

https://toolguyd.com/milwaukee-m18-fuel-rear-handle-circular-saw/

Yeah, it really doesn't need to be worm drive. Brushless DC motors have tons of torque to make up for the torque of a worm drive.

Worm drives are also very inefficient and require adding oil to the gearbox after you receive the tool, along with making sure the oil doesn't leak out (which it will).

With this design, you get the same performance as an AC worm drive without the negatives of a worm drive gearbox.

so if the dolly is $90, the packout radio/charger has to be like $300++....right??

I believe it is 299 msrp

Yep, that's what Milwaukee stated in their presentation.

I just received my M18 heat gun today. I noticed it only has a 3 year warranty. I know as far as tools the OPE (outdoor power equipment) has a 3 year, and power tools have 5, but am wondering if there are any other oddball tools such as this? Not really concerned with the warranty, just more curious.

Edit: just perused the heat gun manual on my kings perch, and looks like they list the exceptions in every manual. I was surprised to see jobsite radios, the power ports/sources, and fan only have 1 year warranty.

Question time. I just picked up an M18 set that includes the basic brushless hammer drill 2902. When moving the clutch through the slip settings it has a nice click. Then when I rotate it over to drill it gets kind of stiff and stops with no audible click. Then to go into hammer it's a stiff turn. Is it supposed to be like that? I have other hammer drills from Dewalt and a gen 2 M12 fuel, but I don't think either of them were like this.

one of the companies we buy from made a mistake of pricing the Milwaukee m18 5.0 batteries for less than $20 bucks a piece...Ordered in 80 and sold at $199.95 for a bundle of 5

took about 2 days to sell out in rural nowhere....

Sure wish I would have ordered about 1000 and set up shop on Ebay lol

KC, do you really supply your own safety glasses?

I buy my own, cause i dont like what the company gives.. they used to have something decent, but what they have now is much cheaper looking and feeling.
So i just pick up something i like instead - mostly because i like they way they look better. The ones i got today were like $9 in Tractor Supply. Last ones were 29.. i bought 2 really cheap pair of crossfires - but the len’s just feel too small. One of em i can see under - its the most annoying thing ever.
They are just toys to keep me occupied for a week or two.. lol

And if anyone else hasn’t heard - Dewalt is launching a new 12v tool line. Their new 12v “Xtreme” line of brushless tools. Guess they finally got tired of giving up the 12v market to Milwaukee. Some stuff looks to be on par with fuel. If that is actually “reality” - this could get interesting for 2 reason.. 1 - Milwaukee can just be used as dewalts test bed as what are the best selling 12v tools to bring to market if they expand. 2 - dont care what anyone says, but the dewalt 12v handles are much more comfortable to hold compared to m12..

We shall see..

I figured. The 12V DW at Lowes is on sale. $5 off! It’s so funny how slow stores ramp up sales, it’s also sad how so many folks jump on 10% like it’s the best deal they’ve seen.

If history is any indication, the DW 12V brushless line will be the best ever made, because I just invested in M12.

I do like the grip of DW. Can’t say I found the M12 offensive, so I’ll have to take notice next time I pick up my M12.

I have some brushed 12v max stuff. Can't say I use em, but I bought them B4 I started with the Milwaukee. They are on par with the early brushed M12. Was just watching a video and torque specs on the Xtreme are right with the fuel counterparts. My gut tells me DeWalt is being a little generous though. I'm just curious how far they'll take this, or if it's gonna be just a few core tools. You'd think the first wave of products would have had a ratchet in there, but they may walk a fine line trying to not deter people from their MAC brand.

My addiction has started. I have had a brushless impact driver for a while. In the past couple of weeks I got:

- M18 Gen 2 Blower
- M18 Wet/Dry vac
- Quik-loc string trimmer and hedge trimmer attachment
- Packout toolbox
- Packout organizer

Next on my list is a mid-torque 1/2" impact gun.

Time to sell my Porta Cable 20V max stuff and Stihl string trimmer.

Holy freaking chit!!! Now I am pissed. Had to wait a year for it and $90!!!!

https://www.acmetools.com/shop/tools/milwaukee-packout/milwaukee-48-22-8410

Might as well just make my own. Seriously if the mounting plate is $30-40 I am making my own. Screw you Milwaukee...

I'm surprised you're surprised ;) This is typical Milwaukee. You know you'll be able to get it "free" with a promo in a few months, and eventually it'll fall to a retail of maybe $70 (which yeah, is still high)

Feel your pain. When I fell it was Black Friday last year. 8 pack outs, mid torque impact, and 3 piece m18 fuel kit followed me home. Quickly followed by the 7 1/4” saw, rover light, and multi tool. The m18 “suitcase” vac is on my list. Used a friends and was very impressed.

I was stoked. Wifey, not so much.

Apologies if this has been mentioned but I just ordered a second 2725 string trimmer for my non-profit and they've revised the bump feed head

Ya, they never will indicate small improvement changes like that, however I still managed to get old stock when getting one on clearance for $75 a couple weeks back.

The new one is a TON easier to put new line on.
