I've never opted for email receipts. I suspect even though I don't have a CC saved on my HD account, because I have placed orders....

I've yet to DIGG more and see what their privacy policy states regarding my -non consent- of profiling my cc in which they have saved attached to my email...

I'm clear they do save CC.....kinda how it's easy to do a return without a receipt...

I had a credit card attached to my Pro account. Then that card got cancelled, and never added the replacement. Later, I made a purchase online with that card, and it was then attached to my pro account. I also think I split a payment on two different cards, and then the other card was added. Sort of convenient, and creepy at the same time

Soon you will be on the HD returns ban list and you wont even be able to return something even with a receipt. Not a black list you want to be on.

Unless it is for extended warranty purposes with a particular credit card, I only pay with cash or 'For Him' gift cards (usable at HD, but no return issues like their gift cards, & I buy them at 10% off). When HD puts their own contracted trades people on the ban list (and can't fix it), you know they aren't screwing around.

I would really like to see Milwaukee come out with an m12 HVAC swage tool for copper tubing that would replicate what the Hilmor and the YellowJacket hydraulic hand tools do. It would function very similar to the ProPex expansion tools, except it would be more robust to expand soft copper tubing and linesets. The Hilmor can use expansion dies from about 1/4 to 2 1/8 inches and most of the other similar tools can do that range or more. I think the Hilmor with the full set of expansion dies is between $700 and $800 and they have a model with fewer dies for between $350 and $400.

Shopping for a Packout tote. 15” or 20”? Like the amount of stuff you can carry in the 20 however am aware of the weight. Like the fact that you could go with two 15” or one of the others also instead of clogging the whole top of the packout. Experiences? Thoughts?

What do you guys think?

I'm in a similar boat. I have not used the packout totes yet but have used the husky 10, 15, 17, and the 20. Personally my favorite is the 10 15 is also good but after that it seems like it just seem to get to loaded up heavy and a pain to carry and carry through a customers house and what not. I think having two smaller ones is best. Like have your main tools in one and the still important but not your first go two in the second one. Btw they seem to get heavy quickly.

Ya. I have a Husky pro 20” I think that have the nice solid plastic handle. I loved it. When I swapped all over to the Packouts it went into storage. But I have found I don’t like my screwdrivers and stuff laying down. So I thought about bringing it back out of storage but also don’t want to have to worry about it falling off the top of my stack off boxes all the time.

Thought about selling the Husky to recoup money but you know how that goes. I will give you $5 for it, for $60 worth of stuff.

I have every single packout piece. The largest 20" tote isn't bad as one side has a lot of pockets and the other side is open. But it gets very heavy quickly as you fill it. The medium 15" one is also open on one side. The smallest one 12" has pockets on both sides and a tiny open space. I have never been a complete fan of how Milwaukee does pockets on bags/totes. They are either too big and loose or not deep enough, never the ideal quantity or size.

The bags are really nothing but big empty bags, think the larger one has a few small pockets inside, though there are a few pockets on the outside.

The tech bag is mostly the same as the non-packout version, same with the backpack. My problem with both of these is an inherent flaw in the packout, things can only be mounted one way, if you have both the tech bag & backpack mounted, the front of one of them will be facing in which isnt convienent.

The totes are ridiculously overpriced I feel. The tech bag and backpack are currently on sale which makes them a little better.

I'm not sure how this happened, because usually Canada gets the shaft on retail, but the prices on some of the M12 stuff at Home Depot in Canada just dropped pretty significantly.

M12 Fuel 3/8" Stubby Impact 2554 is now $169.99 CAD! US HD website shows it at $179.99 USD, which is like $240 CAD. The non-Fuel 3/8 ratchet is also at $99 CAD, where it's $129.99 USD south of the border ($172 CAD).

Weird how the pricing works out sometimes. But if you're an American living close to the border, might actually make sense to cross over to Canada to buy some of these Milwaukee tools.

Its the tariffs in the USA-China trade war. US prices have increased the last year when Milwaukee has had to bring a new inventory shipment to the US. The latest item I saw increased is the M18 wet/dry vac is now $119. Good thing I have a new spare one already lol.

I have both the 10" and 15" packout tool bags. were I to do it again, I might get two 10"'s. as noted, the 15 gets heavy, and part of it is duplicated tools from the 10". two 10" bags would allow me to make a "light work" bag, and a "heavy work" bag, where I would also just bring along the light bag. they both fit on a stack at the same time, so it is not as big a deal as it might be . . . . . .

Depends on what the tools are, but doubtful anything I need. Maybe if they are doing it with the 7-1/4" sliding saw, maybe. One of the Facebook tool guy has them for $100 shipped, cheaper elsewhere.

Not until the 8ah actually came out, did I understand why the 6 wasn't as advanced (?) as I had thought (same size as 8, less amps). So, the 8 & 12ah have the same higher amperage cells. That mean a 4ah compact HO would feasible. IF so, I really wish Milwaukee skipped the 3.0 compact.

Anyone else notice the 3ah HO doesn't sit perfectly flat? The three 3ah batteries I've used have a slight arch to the bottom. Standing a tool on the battery is not as stable as a 2ah.

I found a local retailer that had the 15” tote. Nobody I have seen carries the 10”. I think I am gonna buy it and load everything up at home and go from there. If I like it fine. If not back it goes and the old husky will come back out.

My theory:

Much like the Samsung 2Ah 18650 cells, the Samsung 3Ah 21700 cells offer higher peak and continuous discharge rates than their more energy dense counterparts like the 2.5Ah 18650 and 4Ah 21700, respectively. They handle abuse and spikes in power demand better - less heat, less degradation, etc. That, and I believe they’re a little cheaper. “How much better” in terms of performance/reliability/longevity IMO is probably unnoticeable for most situations, but for a platform where the same battery pack can power anything from a flashlight to a 9” angle grinder, coupled with cell costs and estimating warranty exposure, Milwaukee chose the 3Ah cells for a reason. Same rationale for not making a 2.5Ah compact pack - the 2.0s are cheaper and handle abuse better in a single-series configuration.

I still think they should make a compact 4.0 though :D

I think they will eventually.

That makes sense why the US prices would be climbing. But the prices in Canada are actually dropping - the Fuel Stubby was $199.99 CAD last week, and this week is $169.99 with a "New Lower Price!" tag beside it (so not just a sale price). I know Canada isn't giving China any more breaks than they already had, so not sure what would cause the decrease on the Canada side?

If anything Canada and China are still politically fighting, just not so much in trades and tariffs.

I have been looking at the compact HO 3.0ah batteries. Guys who have them like them? I am kinda limited at the moment. I have 2-5ah, 1-6ah HO and 2-12ah HD HO. Looking for a few smaller batteries for the flashlight and stuff. Just kinda crazy that I can get two 3.0 and 2 5.0 for close to the same price.

I like them, theres only 2 minor problems. As you know with the 6.0 on older guns you may have to remove the belt clip to use the 3.0. For some uses it could be limiting as the battery sticks out further in the front as you may realize with the 6.0. The extra protrusion in the front annoys my buddy on his M18 surge.

Not sure if any retailer still has the 3.0 2 pack for $99, that was a deal, especially when I got $15-20 off that.

I would imagine that Milwaukee Canada used to buy more from Milwaukee USA. Now the economics support buying more directly from the factories in China. And with China (maybe) manipulating their currency down, 2 factors leading to lower prices.

Found a Milwaukee power tool I don't like, M18 multi-tool blows

It's big and bulky battery placement, and on/off switch. Cutting into expensive cabinets, I need the most control possible. Hate to say it but the Rigid one is far better. Battery placement is better too

I would agree with you on battery placement. However to me it has an awesome blade change system, much better then DeWalts quick change. Also you can run all different styles of blades where others sometimes limit.

But again to each his own. I still can’t believe they haven’t come out with a Fuel brushless version yet. Kinda crazy.

For those with Big Red SDS.....when do you go corded ?

I've used my SDS with the dust collector attachment when I'm putting in anchors in a wall. Or a quick bite into crete/cmu

However, if I'm making a hole through - crete, potential rebar, out to the bottom of the deck - I'm not wasting time and out comes my trusty corded Hilti's.

before last xmas, I found a great deal on a heated vest in my son's size, with an included battery. this was important since while he has some M18 stuff, he doesn't have any M12. I had a still new in package 2AH M12 battery, so I added that to the gift. somehow, I figured out that there was a "rebate" offer from Milwaukee, offering, as I recall, a battery operated hand warmer (I am not really clear on the details, as it was really a bonus kind of thing).

aaannnyyywwwaaayyy, I got a letter from Milwaukee in the mail a few days ago. inside was a letter, telling me that they had "depleted the inventory on the seasonal item you had chosen". they said that they had sent me email in March, from survey monkey, but I had not responded, so now they were sending me a letter. they offered me a 48-59-2420 "M12 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Compact Battery Pack 2.0Ah and Charger Starter Kit" along with either a 2592-20 "M12 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Bluetooth Wireless Jobsite Speaker (Tool-Only)" or a 2462-20 "M12 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/4 in. Hex Impact (Tool-Only)" as replacement for the depleted seasonal item.

now, I had completely forgotten about this. it was, as I said, a bonus kind of thing, and did not really effect my purchasing decision. March was about the time I was replacing my laptop, so I can easily believe that I missed the email.

I am very impressed that they kept after this, and offered me a choice of replacement options. it speaks well of them that they didn't just ignore it, and tell people who contacted them that the deal had been over subscribed, and they were sorry but they had nothing to ship.

We are at family members house visiting and I'm doing brakes and control arms and wheel bearings for them. Didnt bring a die grinder with sanding discs to clean up the hubs so ran to home depot to see if they had a milwaukee one to buy. They didnt but they did have a display in the aisle saying buy these two batteries and charger and get a free tool. M12 deal was a 1.5 and 3 amp battery for 99 bucks so got that and a tire inflator. Pretty good deal. Thought about getting the stapler too but have to cut back on my milwaukee purchases. It's the free batteries that **** me in everytime even though I have enough batteries to last a long time.

Then just return the batteries and get the money for those back. Your receipt should show the return value of the batteries.

Bought the 15” Packout tote. Have to say in my opinion I don’t like it. If both sides had the pockets it wouldn’t be bad but I didn’t even get half the stuff I wanted to put in it before running out of pockets. For myself I don’t want the tote for drill/ batteries/bit cases or whatever that the open side is designed for, that’s what I have the packout boxes for. I want it for hand tools. Oh well, I tried. Will take it back and bring the Husky out of storage. Maybe on the TOTE 2.0 they will change it up.

Yeah I never got the email but had called or emailed them in March or April. Got stuck with 3 camo hand warmers & light + battery kits instead of the black ones I wanted.

I opted for the bluetooth speaker. already got one, but dont need the 1/4" impact.

I would rather have the speaker than the hand warmer . . ..

I am in Cincinnati today and the local HD has the 10” Packout tote in stock. I think I might swing by and check it out since my local HD you have to order and the 15” is going back. But is also $10 more here so I don’t know what’s up with that. Bigger city I guess. Another member mentioned the 10” has more pockets so we will see. Look forward to checking it out.

Picked one up in Winnipeg for $169 less a $10 coupon for $159 plus taxes.

Considering the difference in the Canadian versus US $$ it was a steal.

The equivalent is $117.14 US$

M12 Fuel 3/8" Stubby Impact 2554 is now $169.99 CAD! US HD website shows it at $179.99 USD, which is like $240 CAD. The non-Fuel 3/8 ratchet is also at $99 CAD, where it's $129.99 USD south of the border ($172 CAD).

Weird how the pricing works out sometimes. But if you're an American living close to the border, might actually make sense to cross over to Canada to buy some of these Milwaukee tools.

I went M12 for my multi-tool for this exact reason. Very happy with it, especially for the "free with kit purchase" price I got it for.

Had my 1st interaction with Milwaukee for repairs. Sent a Milwaukee Fuel Sawzall in on 7/29 and got it back fixed today. 2 week turn around isn't bad at all.

If you want it from a retailer & relatively fast, I'd do a chat on HomeDepot today, have them take 10% off like the Acme sale (price match), and have it sent to store. Then you can get 11% gift card (HD 11% Menards rebate match).

I am surmising you are in Menards territory. And to get the extra 11% it has to be picked up in store, so that it generates register receipt for submission.

I'm debating getting the chainsaw/blower combo for someone this way, but still is more than when I got my first saw, $222 for the kit.
