The m12 right angle drill is underwhelming - just so you know.. dont expect a powerhouse. But it works fine for what it is in my limited use..

They have a standard battery operated version of that. I think i have it. No idea what the differences are, if any, besides the m12 platform.

The 9V model is only 12:1 like the 2278-20 model in M12 for distance. The 9V model gets significantly shorter run time and isn't part of the M12 if you have them. This is the more rare 40:1 distance model that I never saw for sale very often. Only came in M12 platform.
Yes, exactly. It's a last resort type of tool for me. It has helped me when I was in a bind a couple of time, but it's pretty weak.

So - a brief update on Milwaukee’s power inverter.. i charged 3 batteries with it.. the inverter no longer works.. lol
I’m sure its just a fuse in the 12v plug, but i cant get the tip of it to unscrew without feeling like something is gonna break in half.. ill have to look up the manual later.
Something else i didnt know - this impact (and ill assume all one key tools) has an internal replaceable battery inside the tool.. that was news to me.
My devious plan is taking shape.. as of now i have the ability to control 2 other impacts besides mine at work.. lol. Hopefully ill wind up working with a few more people and get a chance to snap pics of the serial numbers while nobody is watching..

Ya that's right if they EVER do upgrade it then it be worthy additional purchase for sure, something like double the output power of the M12 unit

So we had a full stack of 1/2" CDX ply 48 sheets delivered to work yesterday to cover one of the barn floors in a small renovation project. I needed to cut up one sheet for a smaller project was in a hurry as big T storm was blowing in fast. I winged out a bunch cuts quick using the stack as my support, did that job (was indoors) and after the sun come back out I started moving some of the ply sheets when I noticed the next top 3 sheets all had a corner missing 
At first I thought they were defective haha until I seen my saw cut in the 4th sheet down, then looked in the high grass and seen the corners
Anyhow that 2731 circ with 9.0 cut 5 sheets with the blade buried in the last one and I never even felt it drag

Purchased the 3 piece set through International Tool. M12 1/4” Ratchet, M12 Screwdriver, and M12 flashlight, 2 batteries and charger for $151 out the door. Gonna gift the 1/4” ratchet, 1 battery and charger to a friend. I was planning on putting the screwdriver in the job trailer and through my old one in the garage so I don’t have to open the trailer all the time. However the wife quickly said that she would like a corded screwdriver in the house. So I will be putting the new one in the trailer and the old will go into the house for the wife. Not sure how I feel about it but we shall see.

It is by no means a beast but every time I have really needed mine it was the greatest tool ever made and really saved my bacon.
I picked up a M18 blower today and love the "blow".
On the topic of power..... Vanon replacement batteries. I did not read the ebay copy well enough thinking I was buying an OEM 3.0ah at a good price. What I found out when it arrived.... it did not charge in my "Rapid Charger". They send another, nope, did not charge either . I took out my standard charger and it would recharge in that one. Great I need one charger for the knockoffs now. The supplier did refund half my money so Kudos for good service so I have $15ish invested in two Vanon's.
How do they work. My OEM M18 3.0ah will give me three trips around the yard when used in my string trimmer. The Vanon 3.0ah will give me 1/2 a trip around the yard!!!!

I have not read every reply in this thread but that's a huge difference in runtime for similar -rated batteries-. Don't own any generics so no benchmark delta on that.

Thanks for the heads up. I was getting ready to buy a knock-off battery to test off of eBay, but I don't think I'm wasting my money now.

I did not find any OE non HO 3ah. Not that it's been on my radar, as when I think of M18, 5/6ah is my standard and when I think of HO use, it's 6 and above.
The OE is $100 for 1 and $150 for 2.
I'm sure better -deals- can be found than MSRP on the batteries.
Anyhow, the last post peaked my interest as I've never looked at 3rd party batteries or would even consider them..
Anyhow, the 3 year warranty on the Red Batteries should cost something as well

Getting ready to start on day 3 of hurricane cleanup, and i'd just like to take a moment to mention how much i freaking love my M18 Fuel Hackzall. Having a reciprocating saw that can power through dozens of 4" red oak limbs on a single charge, and is easily operated with one hand, is an absolute game changer for all the branches that are too thick to cut with the lopper, and in an awkward place to try to cut with the chainsaw. 10/10 would buy again at twice the price.

I have one. (The first hardhat model) Its pretty nice but the batteries on all these small rechargeable things dont seem to hold a charge when not in use.

That little inflator has proved to be a great purchase for me.. it just stays in the car. My tires need to be replaced soon anyway, so i stopped pulling nails out..

I want to buy it, but it bothers me that they didn't provide a car adapter option.
Li-Ion batteries do not survive in the car during summers here. Leaving it in the car is great but if I have a dead battery it's useless.

The end just screws on the Schrader valve. It just isn't a quick disconnect.
Seems like making a 12 volt adapter out of a dead or cheap battery wouldn’t be too difficult.

I don't own any of the Red with the repackaged 18650's in them.
I recall there was a charge issue when the Rovers came out. I guess a dolla saved to be spent elsewhere

Honestly - they may live longer if you just leave them out of the tools.. but since ive gone back to my old job - I haven’t done much overtime. I’m on the “do not call” list for after hours emergency work. So i really haven’t been using them much in the last few months. No more building work with dark basements either.. last place just wore me out. I have no motivation to chase the extra money as long as i can pay my bills without it.
Your situation may be different. If you use it more often you wont have that issue of them sitting around for a month or two not being used (that’s normally a short period of time for lithium batteries). No matter which one you get with those, you kinda NEED an extra battery and the little charger anyway to at least have 2 batteries to rotate in and out of use. If your not a mobile site kinda person, you can just leave it plugged in till you need it if your in a shop too.
Milwaukee should have really developed a desktop style charger for those.

How hot are we talking about? All my stuff at work lives inside vehicles its entire life and we have no problems with hot or cold. Honestly - ive used mine multiple times to throw some air in my tires that were a little low - and i cant even tell you when that battery was charged last. Probably April/May if i had to guess. Spent the whole summer baking in the car and its been fine. I think theres a 4.0 in it..

Jersey is different than Phoenix, not that 100 and humid doesn’t **** worse than 115 and somewhat dry. It’s not uncommon for the trunk of my car to be exceeding 160 degrees. I swear I’m going to burn my hands on tools or guns kept in that trunk.
I just purchased a new hard rifle case, one of the considerations was temperature range for storage in my car trunk. Pelican’s newer (cheaper) Vault series of cases are made of polyethylene and are only rated to 140 degrees, I purchased one of the more expensive polycarbonate cases rated to 210 degrees. I didn’t want to risk warping the plastic on the cheaper case.
From Milwaukee, temps over 120 degrees can cause damage:
Store battery packs at room temperature away from moisture. Do not store in damp locations where corrosion of terminals may occur. As with other battery pack types, permanent capacity loss can result if the pack is stored for long periods of time at high temperatures (over 49°C). MILWAUKEE® Lithium-Ion battery packs maintain their charge during storage longer than other battery pack types. After about a year of storage, charge the pack as normal.
