I finally had a chance to really use my 3/8" Stubby impact. Made pretty quick work of removing lug nuts that are torqued to about 100 ft/lb. I also used it to lightly reinstall the lugs, worked nice on the low power setting. Then used a torque wrench for final tightening.

Anyone have issues with the forward/reverse switch on their Milwaukee tools?

My M12 Fuel impact is fine (switch works as expected) but the M12 Fuel hammer drill is another story. It occasionally needs an additional press (2 total instead of 1) to go from the lock to forward or reverse. That extra press is smaller in travel but sometimes requires even more force. It's annoying because I'll think I'm in reverse but nope it's locked.

Man I started using that new Gen 3 impact driver they give me free out on my last few jobs. Cant get over just how compact it is, even with a 2 inch bit inserted the entire length is only as long as to the collet on my old 2453 M12 Fuel :pimpflash

I have had a few variables on tool switches, some being tight one being so loose it like there was no detent stop at all between forward and reverse. (The impact that got replaced actually)

All it really is a point and notch fit with the trigger, might wear in with use dunno :dunno:

Could maybe try slightly loosening the screw in the handle area see if gets any smoother

Worse case send it in

I don't like this trend because the battery is sticking out past the front of the impact driver with a short 1/4 magnetic driver installed.

I really like the M18 Surge tool, but I keep hitting the battery and I don't like longer driver bits if I don't really need one.

This set that's even less at Farm & Fleet?

Ohh, how long is the sale on for? Ive been wanting the packour boxes. Just picked up a fuel hammer drill and 3/8" impact wrench with 2 5ah batteries yesterday for $150 and my single packout tool box is already full. 0ae124c3ef89efe304191463653e6296.jpg

Yes. If it was that price I probably would have bought it.

I agree with ya. Looking at the longer M12 in my photo it just seems slightly better suited to get into a more enclosed area with just the nose and tip IMO. Not that it cant be done with the others like using a longer bit or extension. Just takes some getting used to I guess. I often get the same problem using my Mid Torque impact wrench, configuring the right tool angle on a wheel and tire combo especially if I don't have long socket and/or extension bar

One of the major reasons do I like the M12 series compact batteries :D

But hey at least it's closer in size to my buddy's Makita now :lol_hitti

Nice, that's one heck of deal! That's used I assume? If new, where?

I paid $150 for my 3/8" compact, new with a CP3.0 battery just last month. Stuck the CP3.0 batt on my drill & to free up a 5.0 batt for the 3/8" impact. I know the M12 3/8" stubby is more powerful but I don't have very many M12 batteries & don't feel like buying any. Plus I think the stubby looks funny.

Me too. Same reason I don't like HO batteries, they stick out past the front of certain tools. I also don't like how they switched to the base mounted LED on the new stuff. Don't know if it's actually is more functional but I feel like they are copying Dewalt & Makita. I like the LED above the trigger.

Yes, they were used. Found them on Facebook marketplace and met the seller yesterday afternoon. No charger, but I have 3 already, and no handle for the hammer drill. but all good for the price.

I had 3 from powerextra i bought off amazon.. they all worked fine, but 2 of em just died on me. Not sure how old they were, or what happened (they may have just discharged a little too much from sitting after i used them) - and I’m not gonna pretend i work those things everyday. I just bought em as cheap extras since when i use those tools its usually just a few minutes..

If i used those professionally and need to rely on them somewhat - I wouldn’t buy aftermarket as the bulk of my battery supply. But they are worth having to avoid swapping batteries from one tool to the next - even if they just last 2 years IMO.. i mean really - they are half the price if you buy real m12’s on ebay, and 1/4 the price of full retail. The convenience of having them outweighs the gamble of them dying early - for me anyway. Your opinion may differ. If the chance of them dying after a year or two isnt worth it in your eyes, dont buy them.. but if youre not a guy running full batteries down everyday at work driving hundreds of screws - or just want 2 extras to keep in a flashlight or a saw - i think its worth picking up a few. Its not like you’re taking a big risk with $$, its $25 for TWO.

But no, none of them have leaked if thats what you mean by venting. Couple other guys have some aftermarket packs on here as well. From what i remember i think they were happy with them - but I’m pretty sure nobody cared about a side -by - side runtime test when they bought theirs either. I’m positive they arent ‘as good’ as real ones - but ‘good enough’ for the price.

I have a few extrapower batts for my bosch 12 nolt tools and a couple for my milwaukees. So far, been great. Had the bosch batts for nearly 2 years

Brand Nailer came in. Have not run it yet. Feels great. When I hold it side/side by the Yellow Brad, footprint is very similar (not smaller or larger)

Hey there guys and gals :D

Check out this video I just gleaned of a FB page for Milwaukee users...

Is this an honest review on the new angle die grinder?

And I see Milwaukee Tools contacted the user about the video already

My only question can anyone say if that is the proper sized wheel? I have seen some expecting to use 3" when the manual recommends 2" :headscrat

New arrival today. Hard to believe I got into the m12 line because of the ratchets and this is my first one.

Speaking of the right angle die grinder, I noticed something in the Milwaukee product pics... For the first time that I can remember, they show a competitor's product in the "in-use lifestyle" images - look in the background, and you can clearly see a Snap-on Epiq roller cab and hutch:

Milwaukee has a chart that shows some 3” wheels are approved for use, but not all. I have been using 3” scotchbrite on mine.

I have many m12 tools and love the Rover light and added the lantern.

I live in California and was hit by the blackouts. I bought the m12 lantern this week and it’s awesome. A bit pricey as we all know but it has great light output that can be rotated between 180 and 360 degrees. But the main reason I got it was the usb charging. I have a couple power bricks for usb but now have a usb charger that I can keep going with the many m12 batteries I have.

Now to hold out for a sale on 2 m12 6.0 batteries.

Getting ready to make my first real investment in electric tools and having trouble deciding on what to get. I'm just starting work on a 30 year old BMW that's been sitting for 10 years. All suspension/brake/exhaust fasteners have a fair bit of rust so an impact is really going to be helpful. I think my first purchase is going to be the 3/8 stubby impact m12 since it will help get into tight spaces. I also have a full set of sunex shallow/deep/wobble impact sockets. I also want an m18 mid torque option for things that need more power but can't decide between 3/8" and 1/2". I'm leaning towards 1/2" for this but getting the 3/8 would save me from buying more sockets. Has anyone else made a similar decision? I appreciate any input.
