What's everyone's favorite non-traditional m18 tool? Meaning other than drill, impact, etc.
My first non traditional M18 tool is the jobsite fan... it is definitely my favorite.
Disclaimer... it's still with Santa...

You nailed it, it’s a fake. The printing in the first pic is the first thing I noticed. The M next to the 12 is lower, the white outline around the RED and 6.0. And the red print from the D bleeds into the L. You would think ebay would take more aggressive action against the seller. After all, this is the reason people like me avoid ebay unless it’s a know US retailer operating a storefront.
That's definitely a fake. Just like "N18" chargers. Funny how people can be tricked into thinking Milwaukee would make that mistake and ship it.

N18 Charger?
I must have missed that one![]()
There's generic chargers that are labeled N18/N14/N12. But all the ones I've seen are listed as "replacement" & not sold as Milwaukee.
Then there are the ones that are labelled N18/N14 that doesn't have the M12 charging port but they still have 2 sets of LEDs like M12/M18 chargers. Wonder what the other set of LEDS are for & what N14 means. Unless they are not actually 2 pairs of LEDs.

I see it being sold on Amazon

Milwaukee doesn't even offer a Li ION 14.4 battery do they
My first thought was it was for old Nicad or a V battery but it says supposed for the new batterys and that looks like the exact same charge port

I looked close at that charger recently... the images anyway... the plug looks like a normal two flat prong (one a tad wider) plug...
Europe uses those round posts... these aint them.
For what it's worth...
M14 Batteries (Lithium Ion) are in Europe --- follow this link to Milwaukee EU

I was just reading the Amazon reviews on that weird N 14-18V charger
One of the purchasers said it his had a non standard UL plug on it and said it was for the European market
Looking at most of the reviews they seem to be all the same type of one line responses
Home Depot had/has that deal.
I know there are generic batteries but I didn't know there were knock offs. I'm pretty sure I got a fake one. The one on the right I believe is fake. One on the left was brand new in original packaging.
Bottom section is reversed. Look at the "M12, RED, & 6.0" on the label. No security torx, just regular torx & no date code. Older batteries have a stamped date code. Newer batteries have the date code in the s/n. If I go by that format than this battery would be 2012 week 85.
Got it from ebay seller chuwu9217. Chinese seller with a US shipping address. I suspected that but took a chance anyway. Sold as new in unopened packaging but it didn't come in any packaging. Ebay gave me a full refund in my favor, the seller wouldn't send me a return label, kept telling to pay for return shipping. Just posting a buyer beware.
I still have the fake one. If I end up not having to send it back I'll open it up to look inside.

Ive seen hit or miss reviews on that here, but I love mine. I was so tempted to get the deal ToolNut had with a free battery yesterday, but I didnt cave.
Who was that tool truck guy on Facebook that has deals on cordless tools?
I'm in the tech industry and have some experience with batteries, and I'd just say third-party are a ****-shoot for both performance and safety. If the price of the battery platform bugs you, just buy the HF stuff to begin with. Same with chargers.

That battery on the right does look a bit suspect with the lettering being off. I would point out though that the lack of security screws aren't necessarily a sign of a knock off battery. Also, I have a couple of M12 XC3.0 batteries here that have a march 29th, 2019 date code etched/stamped in the top of the red plastic stem, not on the label.
These batteries came straight from Milwaukee.
