Judging by the amount of toys purchased I'm seriously beginning to think that some of these guys here are sponsored by Milwaukee...:lol_hitti

Can one of the manufactures come up with an actual toy like an RC car or something?

Not when our Canadian dollar is so low...

Can these brands start a loyalty program? Surely many people can benefit from it, an incentive can prevent people like me from purchasing across brands.

Perhaps they feel the incentive is batteries. I have more than a half dozen of each M12 and M18 batteries. If I want a new battery tool, for one brand I don't need a battery or charger!

True, but when there are so many bonus battery deals from competitors ( for me there have been many cases when buying another brand's cordless tools works out better) it's hard to fasten people to one brand.

The price of a single charger can be unbelievable, seriously $60 for a charger makes no sense, wonder how they even sell them at HD.

Re: Wall-Mount Milwaukee Blower?

OK, I was hoping for something a little more substantial, but I suppose if the wood screw is big enough it won’t be too shaky.

I used a Kreg screw for the slighty larger head and flat surface on the back of the head and also because I had one in the drawer and it's been bumped and knocked into countless times over the past year and a half and never once has it fallen off the wall. It's a simple basically free option that works really well imo.

I'm curious if Milwaukee does a loyalty deal as well. I just stopped into my works tool shop the other day. We are unfortunately well vested into the yellow line of tools. There was 3 pallet of brand new Dewalt tools sitting there. I asked my guy about it. He said they earned Dewalt Dollars that had to spent before the end of the year. There was $40K sitting on those pallets. He said you do not want to know how much we had to spend to get that. :lol_hitti

Going to have to sand the window frames in my house. I was thinking the multi tool would be the best bet. They still don’t make a fuel model correct?

I am hoping Milwaukee drops a cordless lawn mower for spring. The top end of the gas engine is starting to come apart, only thing I can do is get a bungee and strap it down from one side of the mower to the other. Mower is 20+ years. If not I will buy the HF gas engine.

Well here's a better look at that Ammo Box style "Half Pack" or the new Milwaukee Compact Tool Box as it's called designed for the Packout system.

Sooo showing it will fit a circ saw and that all the lower section dividers including the long center one look to removable. That's good to know :D

And it does retail for $59.99 The usual Milwaukee pricy.

Pre order at Tool Nut Feb 15th ship est.

https://www.toolnut.com/accessories...ukee-48-22-8422-packout-compact-tool-box.html

Don't see the measurements at either link

Though thru a lot of photos, the height looks to be equal to 3 of the 8435 and both types of boxes sit long side to long side atop an 8424 box so probably close 12 x16 x 14H :dunno:

As usual the reception is sometimes questionable :headscrat
But IMHO I like the style more than any packout box yet even if just for tall handled type power tool storage box without buying into the rest of the system :lol_hitti

Here's the new ToolGuyd review

Disappointed in the $60 price, that is expensive, $40 would of been great, $50 would go on sale for $40 at some point lol.

In Stu's review, he mentioned that the saw has the blade guard up to fit in the box, seems to be the 2732 saw but the dust port is not attached does that mean it wont fit with that attached. Fitting the rear handle 2830 in that box is not possible. I am pretty sure the 2732 doesnt fit straight front to back in the medium box I think I have it kinda sideways with the M12 next to it. If the blade guard has to be up and it doesnt lay freely on the bottom then this box is not good for it, dont want it wedged from front to back, and want it to fit with the dust attachment on.

Like I mentioned to friends, it seems like a box that looks great and usuable, but when you get it will probably realize it cant't be used in half the ways you hoped.

I'd be willing to wager the blade is buried in kerf cut in a block of wood so the saw could be stood up for photo ops :lol_hitti

I just measured my 2731 and the whole saw top of the handle to bottom of blade guard is only 12" The 2732 though the motor housing is larger is probably not much taller. Someone else would have to measure one as I don't have one.

The box should be better than 12 " high as those side boxes are listed as 4.6" each.

Like I say its about the only packout box I think might work pretty good for my tool needs.
Hand carry a narrow hard box across my worksite. Too bad they are not like 3 for $100 I could see a few of them side by side in my vehicle and full of tools.

All that that tray stuff and boxes all stacked on top each other doesn't work for me

So as much as I think I would like at least one I'm pretty much holding off on pre orders for any Milwaukee offerings. I jumped on that before in the past and then seen a better price deal or even added promo after the fact like battery with the Bbig BT speaker. :eyecrazy:

Seeing I wont really need it until Spring anyways right now maybe find a 15-20% offer to put against it.

Would make it $48- $51 anyways :dunno:

My 2 cents...I wouldn't want to use a cordless multi tool for this. Even a corded one would not be a fun experience.

I typed it wrong. I’m just doing the living room, 2 double windows and the third is a bay window with opening window on each side. They have never been painted before, just have a stain on them. So I need to figure out if I can scuff and paint over or if I need to remove completely. Reason I was thinking multi tool is the triangle sander attachment to get the corners and straight lines.

I actually like the style of the new compact tool box. That seem more usable to me where I just need to take in a drill or driver and some small tool occasionally. The regular flat box just always seems a bit large in the wrong way. I'll wait for a sale though.

Problem is there's too many versions of each and no 2 are like in size, and almost a new version every year. The Super Sawzall barely fits in a packout. When I get home tonight I am gonna analyze how the 2732 fits in the boxes.

I really need to revisit my kaizen to do list now that its winter.

They need to make an organizer insert for the basic 2 tools every has - circ saw, drill, impact driver, Sawzall...

Funny to hear how these briefcase/suitcase style "storage" boxes aren't really designed to handle big tools isn't it :spit:

WTF :wtf:

That old toolbox JOBSITE WORK TOOL BOX Milwaukee still makes WILL though.

I had bought one long ago and I see they are only $30 right now @HD (and I'm almost sure I paid more than that too)

So it's BIG... will fit a sawzall easy AND a circ saw plus has holders in the corners for drills/impacts, extra batteries etc. Pic #1

A 2 foot level also fits Straight across inside. Pic #2

Does what I need :D

Also comes with divider top tray which covers only 1/2 of the box at time so you can just slide it back and forth for bottom access. If you don't overload the lower like I did for these photos it normally stays right in the box. You can also screw mount a battery charger under the lid too

Sure it ain't got little wheelies and handle but it holds TOOLS lots of tools

In the last photo #3 just to see what I could fit there an still lock the lid is the M18 2408 FUEL hammer drill, the 2852 FUEL impact driver, the 2731 FUEL circular saw, the 2621 sawzall, the 2866 FUEL drywall screwgun, the 2861 FUEL mid torque impact wrench and the 2592 M12 BT speaker and xtra batteries :pimpflash

Honestly they could have improved some on box like this. I really don't know more what the average working guy needs out of a portable TOOL storage box :lol_hitti.

How does the m12 surge compare with the m18 fuel impact driver ? Im not sure which one to go with.
I just picked up the m18, and it my first m18. The surge 11 with the free 6.0 is very tempting though.
Any thoughts ? Is the hydraulic surge amazing enough for me to reconsider the 18v fuel ?

I feel like this new box is lesser quality to those old job boxes you are talking about. Look at the pic of the stack again on Toolguyd, its not rugged like the normal boxes, its cheaper like the tool case w/ foam, it doesn't even look good in the stack. They are totally trying to milk extra $ out of packout stuff, its a $40 box I would buy on sale for $30 lol.... Wedging the 2732 saw in it will eventually crack the box I bet.

Impressive tight packing there, DFB.

Ya thanks :eyecrazy:

Those jumbo Milwaukee boxes are pretty much the Cats *** when it comes to basic tool storage :D

But while packing the tools in that box I do believe I know now the reason WHY the Circ saw blade guard is shown rotated in the ToolGuyd photo when in the new "Half Pack" storage box photo.

Is pretty simple really release the base shoe locking lever and lift the saw body upwards (note the top handle position in the photo) re lock the plate and then rotate the blade guard back around as you place the saw down in the box and it will sit flat

I'm going to look at the Packout Boxe soon. Have never did. Is the material the same as the packout organizers ? I have the Gen1 organizers, which I don't believe are supposed to mate with the the rest of the packout lineup ?

I need to get 1 LARGE/XL storage case. My current go to is the Dewalts tough as the plastic is thick and sturdy and the o ring on them is a (good o ring).

Anybody that uses a pickup recall those behind the wheel well toolboxes they often marketed usually been metal box like diamond plate.

Started thinking those Half Pack Ammo style boxes could possibly fit well in a spot like that. Maybe Milwaukee should focus even more on vehicle type installation.

Those packouts are supposed to be water resistant rated though I read people that actually use them heavily outdoors claim the get water can get in them..I dunno :dunno:

New M18 Crown Staple Nailer

But WHATS WITH THE PRICE

https://toolcraze.net/milwaukee-m18...hJ-T1RIWYfeW8vczXzOmxnt3KL8M16kmhKPbE7zLZNrvI

You know I really do like my 2722 16 ga nailer and it took a while to find the "right deal" with the original pricing mine was like $150 than list for a -21 kit

And really that 18 ga stapler kit should be no more than low-mid 200's
Agreed, I’m going to pick-up one of the M18 framing nailers once they become available and then curtail my Milwaukee purchases thereafter while I search for a more reasonably priced cordless tool line option for home use. Their prices are becoming excessive for users who don’t use these tools to earn a living.

I've racked my head on this . Don't see how I would it use if I had one.

Curious. Applications for you ?

That one is "narrow crown" for small lighter assembly work. Used in furniture work, and putting cabinet backer boards. You look around in manufacturing assembly you see staples used a lot"

Many places you can use an 18ga "brad" nail you could also use a crown staple instead. Offer a bit more pull thru resistance with the crown crossover two legs. Making small hobby crafts or light trim, or lattice work

Could use it for securing thin underlayment too but usually go with a wider crown

I have crown "staples in various lengths and also have 2 "staplers" one a 18ga HF 2 in1 pneumatic that can use them and also 18 ga brads up to 2" but I also have a Porter Cable narrow crown stapler that came with the framing nailer I have. I really don't use them much and more often prefer just a straight brad if I'm building a little something but really depends on the application.

Plus a single brad is a lot easier to pull out of your finger if you miss :lol_hitti

We tried narrow crown at the orchard once to build apple crates the staples didn't offer much "grab" or holding power with the weight inside the box pressing out against the side boards the staples would just pull right out. At least the ones they used.

4D Coated sinker nails work the best for us there building crates. I go thru 50lb boxes :D

I'll 2nd, that. Got one of those a few years back for packing around a Makita corded saw. Now the DeWalt Flexvolt goes in there. Lots of room for the tool plus a square, chalk line, tape measure or two. level, pencils and any other stuff you need with a circular saw

I dont want to be too negative on a Milwaukee thread but the Packouts could have been thought out better. I actually prefer the DeWalt and Makita boxes.

One example, is if you hare hauling around a SDS drill or hammer bits, it would be nice to have lengthwise dividers in the smallest box., so they stay organized and dont get all bunched together

The makita's are just sortimo's, which I have a plenty in the festool lineup with drawers, small parts, etc.

The dewalts for me are just uber big -rugged boxes- with good o ring sealing. Don't use them for transport, etc. Just mainly put excess power tools to -seal- it from my garage which is a bit humid in the warmer months.

Not sure what a Sortimo is. I just go by what the local tool store has. Big selection of Packouts, smaller selection of DeWalt toughboxes, Makita and at least 2 types of Festool. One I think is called Systainer. All different.

The Makita boxes have top handles on their small boxes and DeWalt has 2 handles, top which i like and one for briefcase type carrying . The small Packout just has the briefcase type

Saying that, the Packout is popular up here. Up north construction guy

Added the 12v Jigsaw and Rotary Tool (Dremel) to my toolbox. Got a chance to use the rotary tool yesterday and I was pleased. Plenty of speed and torque for the project.

While resorting the toolbox drawer I came across my 12v flashlight. I see Milwaukee offers an LED replacement bulb for way too much. Managed to find a 5W Cree led bulb with 320 lumens for $16 so I have that on order.
