Newbie M18 FUEL bandsaw

https://toolguyd.com/milwaukee-m18-...io7JseQlxCA6QtmNiavLrv0caxbwqPSkMG2rFHpc-sE3c

Will be $279

The old non Fuel model is the 2629-20. $249 list (was on inventory clearance the other day at Tool barn for just $210 and had thought about that)

I used one of the corded Milwaukee bandsaws recently cutting out some flat plate to close dimensions before final grinding to fab up a custom transmission/starter bracket at my pals shop...was the Cats *** :D

Always do think a lot about the M12 bandsaw but the smaller 2" x 2" throat keeps pushing me off. :dunno:

The new cordless band saws are such a joy to use over the older style corded units. Ergonomics are much better and no cord to get in the way. Not to heavy at all unless your using it overhead. Use them near daily in the field. Good blades are a must.

I've only used Milwaukee Mail-in warranty... you need to prove the date of purchase because there is a limited warranty. We also have an official Milwaukee center locally and they have been able to help me with tools that failed.

Batteries... how did you break the tabs? I have been using them for years and have never broken a tab.

I will add... if the battery has a serial number... 3.0 or bigger (I think)… they can tell how old the battery is.

i have had a few tabs break on the bigger batteries but the last job i was using them on was with the rotary hammer drill and the the way things were set up the battery would hit when the tool would bind so i think that is where most of them had failed.

Opinions on the 2363-20, the LED lantern / flood light rated at 700 lumen? It's $69 at HD, thinking about it...

Old school. Some like em ...some don't :lol_hitti

Many years ago I give an old GF the M12 version as an emergency light for when the power went out for light and USB phone charging. She really liked it a lot

After that I decided to get the same one for myself. Easily lights up my whole kitchen area in an outage.

Especially good for outdoors camping deck etc. They hang by a hook

And can be a decent worklight depending on the situation

Always been considering an M18 version if the price was right...it is a bit taller than the M12 though just a little bit brighter. M18 batteries make good bases.

They were like $20 more in the beginning $89 IIRC. Kind of surprised they haven't gone cheaper yet. Also used to be freebie too choices during certain promos in the past.

RTR had a couple of videos reviews on the lanterns called it one of his favorite lights back when

I've got 2 of them and really like them a lot. I use them in the attic and in my crawl space as well as anytime I'm working in a confined space. They don't take up much room and can put out tons of light in a concealed/tight area without getting in the way.

this was my favorite light until I got the ryobi workbench light, similar role but more options (P727). both are really handy

Anyone HAVE the Metal Cutting Saw ? I'm thinking about giving that a hard look. Already have fuel bandsaw tho...

Dang. Makita has a cordless cutoff saw :shocking:
Have never really looked at other brands, but just started looking to see what the competition's got. My current cutoff is the Mak Cold Saw

I killed my 2601 (OG 1/2" M18 drill) today running a 3" hole saw. well out of warranty. it lived a good life

been using my 2648 M18 random orbital sander, it's crazy imbalanced with a 5.0. annoying to use. maybe I'll get a 3.0 for it but I think it's just a design flaw. hanging the battery off the side seems like the standard design for cordless RO sanders through

used my 2732 gen 2 7 1/4 saw a bit. this is my first high quality 7 1/4 saw with enough precision to do trim stuff. really impressed

Only Wood tool I have is the rear handle circ, and brad nailer. Still sticking to green for my wood tools, if not the ceros sander. I want lightweight when it comes to wood stuff......especially when sanding

I love that it does AC and battery, but I have to admit I'm a little bummed my M18 Rover light (2360-20) doesn't have a USB charging port...

Nice, waiting for my 2 sets of M12 PVC cutter & Packout from the M12 Pex kits. Their rebate process is under more scrutiny, most of the reciepts/order confirms from online retailers aint good enough, you have to call and request a formal invoice. Had to resubmit each 3 times. But my M12 free 2.0 from my new hoodie was easier, dont remember which etailer I got it from. My free pen light and head lamp also showed up last week, that was an old shockwave promo I think.

Understand what you guys meant about the outside usb. Working indoors or in nice weather it’s nice to have my phone sitting on top to change songs or check messages. I wish the door had a wire pass through. I wonder how I could make one with some kind of rubber seal to go around the wire.

Multi tool is working good for sanding. The selection of paper for the multi tool is horrible locally. I’ve checked Home Depot and Lowe’s, I remember the selection being way better a couple years ago.

I like this light. Decent light output and phenomenal runtime. While I use the USB lights for almost everything now, I still use this one as an underhood light (with a rubber bungee cord, easy to balance horizontally with a 5.0) and for power outages.

It’s versatile, not blinding, not huge, great runtime, has USB charging just in case...it’s good at a lot of things but not the best at any. If you can come to terms with that then you’ll enjoy it.

A rubber grommet type cap or plug should work I would think depending on the thickness

Could make a razor slit in a solid one so it can close back up some or simply use one with a hole just big enough to pass a micro usb end thru.

Obviously a round hole would probably be the easiest to do

I dont think so as most would just use the sanding attachment on the M12 OMT. It took them forever to come out with the M18 orbital sander. I was hoping it would of been more like the Ryobi corner cat design, but something is better than nothing.

Does anyone know if there are plans for an M12 finger sander? (Or detail sander, as some call them.)

How's the M18 compact vacuum?

I only have M12 tools right now, but I'm looking to get this once I get some tools from the M18 line.

Would it be good for cleaning my car and light cleaning around the house?

I have the 0880 vacuum, the one that's box shaped. That is a good option for cleaning the car or a cleanup after a small job in the house, like drilling a hole or two in drywall to hang something heavy.

Not sure how deep and big the bay is, but this could work if you wanted to get fancy. Has a cover too to keep dirt and moisture out. If you go to the manufacturers website you can probably find a 6inch version

https://www.newegg.com/p/0FB-027M-03T74

Oh, I like that idea. I think that would be the winner.

Ya I like it too. That would work out really nice with the threaded body and locknut plus the weatherproof cap

Winner! Winner! Chicken Dinner!

Well except for that ship straight from China part :lol_hitti

Though I've done that pretty much no big deal except for the delivery time

That would work for some things but the sanding pad is too wide for a lot of places I would want to use a finger sander, and the OMT also just doesn't have the same reach to get into tight places.
