So anyone one else seen or heard of this yet :headscrat

impacting ratchet was told what it is

220ftlbs

:eyecrazy:

It’s like they read my post from a week ago, and got right on it.. lol

If thats real, I don’t think thats really a “ratchet”.. that’s probably their version of the IR hammerhead.

Dude - if thats real - EVERYONE will buy one... i wont even use it, and i already want one.

Dacan, just because you don't need one doesn't mean that kc is wrong. Kc will buy one, you will buy one, I'll buy one... hell most of us will. I always wanted one of the IR units but they just cost too much for how little I'd use it. Make a red one at the right price point, I'll bite for sure.

I will buy it only if they make a boot for it lol. Problem is it will prolly be $250-300 ouch

See - the best thing - is get someone ELSE to buy it for you... lol

I actually never did that, cause i felt stupid asking for gifts i know i really wont use a lot, but its starting to seem like a much better option than people buying me stuff Ill never use.. its my own fault.. they ask for gift ideas, i give them none, and then play the Christmas lotto every year.

Ya I agree it seems more like its just a RA impact tool as it doesn't look anything like a actual ratchet head.

Not familiar with the Hammerhead. Wonder if you can you lock the impact mechanism to turn a bolt?. That a major drawback to the current M12 RA impact driver tool.

And ya lot of chatter on price at many figure a $250 range :pimpflash

Sorry didn't hear nothing about the boot :lol_hitti

No chance it’ll be below 250 especially after the trade war and now with China practically shutdown. A regular 1/2 ratchet is 200 so I’m thinking this will be like 270. We all love red, but the only stuff they price right is the old stuff lol

It seems pretty much like a straight version of an M12 Stubby, so I'd think the price would cap out at $250. I'd bet less than $199.

Which is pretty cool. My 3/8" FUEL ratchet was a star this weekend - not sure if I'd add that to my kit with the Stubby and the ratchet already in my garage, but it sure is cool.

I am having a hard time finding a solid grommet or one meant to pass through a wire or something. I am thinking one about 1/2-1" in diameter, if its solid of course would slit it, though one intended like the link would be nice. I looked in HD & Lowe's but couldn't find anything, perhaps havent looked in the right section yet.

A rubber grommet type cap or plug should work I would think depending on the thickness

Could make a razor slit in a solid one so it can close back up some or simply use one with a hole just big enough to pass a micro usb end thru.

Obviously a round hole would probably be the easiest to do

170PCS Rubber Grommet Firewall Hole Plug Set Electrical Wire Gasket Wonderful https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BK1DY9F/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Swordfish 21100-180PC Closed Rubber Grommet Firewall Hole Plug Electrical Wire Gasket Assortment Set, 7 Sizes https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PBN6F4K/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Smaller sets / pieces available. Search "rubber grommet plug". Or ‘wire gasket’. Maybe that helps

Lemme guess - packout related?

Question - if your trying to pass a wire + plug through this, is it just once, or do you want to be able to pass it through - back and forth? If its just once - to leave the plug outside a box - you should be able to use stretch the grommet (with small hole for wire) around the plug, and install. The back and forth - you’ll probably just have to use a solid plug and slit the window down the middle.

The original post these grommets were talked about was about modifying the newest $300 10 speaker radio :wtf:...

So ya that was Packout Related

Seems that to use the on board USB ports and also have access to your device you have to leave the oversized side door wide open. A grommet would at least allow a cable to extend out the case :dunno:

Cars are full of rubber plugs, you should be able to find something on your daily driver!

It should be a real impact ratchet. I was looking at their patent filings a few months back and this was in there.

I’m very pumped it’s a reality, but really wish it was M18...

Yeah I have seen those lol, just dont need to buy hundreds when I just want 1, and would rather find something quality than these which may not last that long.

I dont want something permanent, like drill a hole and epoxy, as wires & connectors change.

I havent figure out where my device will go when attached to the cord coming out.

Come to think of it and after looking at the patent images again, I bet they’re going M12 with this due to the M18 power potential being just too much for the complex ratcheting impact mechanism. There’s nothing “NBHD” about routine gear train blow outs [emoji23]

I wouldn’t mind leaving the pack out door open if when you opened it all the way you could the slide the door under the battery bay.

Dcan what about an auto install kit like we had talked about? Drill hole in the door and pop in the usb outlets. Just connect it behind the door.

I’ve been thinking and need to take a close look later and see if I could just file a the edge a little bit so a wire can pass through.

That might look the best or the least obvious be less obtrusive anyhow. A small u shape cut using a drill hole and a file.

I do like a small slotted grommet for a pass thru though, the desk wire thingy was 2 inch IIRC

Check out a truck camper shell place they may have grommets that are heavy duty and what you’re looking for. I know factory in my Dodge Ram had some numbers grommets

You made a good switch. I made the switch from everything cordless being yellow a little over a year ago. All it took was one tool purchase and I fell hard. I was walking through my local HD and saw a M18 Mid Torque with 5ah battery and charger for $150. That started the switch. Dumped all my yellow on Craigslist and went on a red buying spree. Two and a half Packout sets and a garage attic full of Milwaukee boxes later and I couldn’t be happier. Plus it makes since for me and my dad to have the same battery platform since we do side jobs together, at least that’s what I tell myself.

Couple tools a month and you might catch up with Kctyphoon in a couple centuries.

Yeah having the same platform is a good idea and everyone at work has red but I always use my batteries since I have a dozen if not more of both m12 and m18

I have to analyze and think about it more. On my prior jobsite radio I did use the charger a lot, my rapid station is up in the house, but I have been meaning to relocate to the Kobalt power tool centers I finally hung in the garage.

When I first looked at it, thought the smallest least intrusive solution was best as the door still needs to open and any solution should be flexible for future changes. The 2" cord grommet seems too big as the door is not just flat behind it.

You guys are making me think about this too much and its ******* me off more there is no USB port outside of that stupid battery box :lol_hitti

Soooo many posibilities.... I will never decide lololol

Gee this looks like it was made just for the dang thing, though not sure who ever uses the AUX input.

Ya liking that looks like has everything needed its small, has an attached flip cover and is also tightened down with a threaded nut

I see you can get it a single or double USB port too if the 3.5mm jack isn't needed or desired.
