I have posted some of the things I have been given at work before, but today's score was completely unexpected. I was talking to one of the guys in the manufacturing department when the facilities manager walked by and asked if I wanted the cranes. ( they recently remodeled the entire building and removed all of them) I said sure without really knowing what all was included. I knew there were a few, but I had no idea how many.

The jibs were included but I forgot a picture of them.

Then the fabrication manager told me about some other things they were clearing out. Those C clamps are 12" Hargraves.

And its hard to tell in this picture but there is a large pile of lifting straps and pipe clamps.

Of course when I got home I realized that I put a bunch of vise grips and clamps in a box to make it easier to carry to my truck and forgot it, I will post pictures of it tomorrow.

Now to find out a use for 5 hoists.

I am very grateful for the company I work for. They give things like this to me all the time rather than just selling them.

Yep, suckage beyond words. I'm looking at the pics and it just never ends. The vice grips are a great score by themselves.
I'm sending you a PM on the hoist.

Awesome score!! It's great to have a good reputation with your company that allows you to benefit from these opportunities. By the way, what is the voltage and phase of the hoists?

The 4 smaller ones are single phase 120v, the large one is 3 phase.

Make sure they aren't considered destroyed, and written off on someones taxes. I guess what I mean is, don't sell them on ebay. Just saying...

My place of employment will destroy what ever is no longer being used before it would offer it to someone on the floor that could make good use of it. Sigh!! Good haul though.

Im sure if somebody had gotten hurt using something at home they would stop for fear of being sued, but so far they just prefer me to get it out right away instead of waiting on maintenance to do it. Most of the employees there have no interest in this stuff. The others dont know who to talk to to get this stuff.

What are your plans for all that good stuff?

Bill

Not sure yet. My dad will probably get one for his shop, my buddy wants one, and i plan on one in my garage and save one for the barn i want to build one day. Might sell some stuff. Im keeping all the clamps and vise grips as they are always handy.

Yeah, the Vise-Grips alone is one heck of a score. As a big Vise-Grip fan, you've got me drooling.
