Yes, it is made in Japan. One of my photos showing the end of the shipping box says "Made In Japan." Which tool boxes are you refering too? Some of the boxes are made in the USA by Waterloo, some of the newer futuristic boxes are made in Japan.

Congrats on a new cart. Not a bad price to boot. 
KTC once had a line called the "Mirror Tool" series (produced between 1982-1999). The wood handled screwdriver below was part of a set in a tool box called "Tool Safe" or "Woody". With the "Woody", the box alone cost 78,000 yen back in 1990.
The Mirror Tool combination wrench became part of an onboard tool kit for the Infiniti President.
Products from the Mirror Tool line were all hand ground by professional craftsmen.
The scanned images come from KTC's 1990 catalogue.

How did they translate "Stahlwille" ?
I guess it's hard for the Japanese to pronounce the word properly, just like how English speakers might mis-pronounce the name. So, they often write it out in Japanese. When I convert those letters into English it'll spell like this: sutabire-

Picked up this today from the post office... $455 shipped insured to me. It took 6 days from the time Frank at Frankstools.com shipped it from Japan, plus the 5 days it took KTC to send it to Frank. All in all, 11 days from time of payment to get to my doorstep.

I'm lovin' the cart... the side rails don't fold down like the Hazet, but it comes with a t-handle rack
Once in a while the chains that hold the different levels up bind when you collapse the cart, but a quick jiggle fixes that. Maybe one day I will get a Hazet Assisstent, but for now the KTC is awesome for the price.

phonetically sutabire would be stah-wee-Leh, in japanese the same letter that makes the "b" sound also makes the "w" sound and their "r" and "L" sounds behave in a similar way.

In Japanese they have three forms of writing and the one used to denote
Stahlwille is used to spell out foreign words, they didn't try to translate from german.

I have some slightly bad news on my Nepros. Some of the highly polished wrenches have started to develop surface rust. I am not sure why. It could be the tool box or the drafty garage. I have resorted to lightly wiping them with wd40 and putting silica packs in the tool box. Any thoughts on more rust defenses? I never expected these tools would develop surface rust.

Does anyone know if Nepros has stopped selling their adjustable wrench (NWM-250) in the US? It no longer appears on their US website, but it is still on their Japanese website.

No rust on any of my Nepros tools either
I need opinion from Nepros owners. I am interested in Nepros pliers (combination pliers , diagonal cutting pliers and nippers) and screwdrivers (phillips and flat).
1.Pliers: are they same quality as Knipex and other top brands? Are they precise made with little tollerance? What about high voltage insulation, is there any declared?
2.Screwdrivers:Are they comparable with Wiha and other top brands.
I don't want to have tons of same tools, but I want to have the best of everything.

Nothing really special about the Nepros pliers IMO. I really like the wooden handled screwdrivers though.
I have the diagonal cutters, 200mm needle nose, and 200mm bent needle nose pliers. They are nicely finished with tight tolerances, but I bought them pre-price hike. For what they want for them now, I would go with NWS, Knipex or Keiba.
I also have the regular plastic handle screwdriver set, they are nice, but again for the current prices you could do better. I would get a set of PB Swiss soft grips if I was going to spend the cash for the best.
The Nepros really shine when it comes to socket sets, wrenches, and t-handles. The socket to nut/bolt tolerance is second to none, they hardly leave a mark on the fastener.

Just an update on the rust. I noticed the rust when inspecting the tools. I have not been able to use my tools for some time and hence let them sit in my tool box. The rust is light surface rust spots. It can be felt, but not seen without looking closely. I would take a photo but I polished and wiped them all down with WD40 to get rid of the rust. To say I was disappointed upon spotting the rust is an understatement. I have put a ton of Silica packs in the box now so hopefully that will be the end of the rust. In fairness to Nepros my King **** polished flare nut wrenches also developed surface rust. My Stahlwille and Hazet did not however. Hazet almost look like they are galvanized, so that may well be why there is no rust on them. That all being said my Stanley (Sidchrome) chromed sockets and wrenches in the same box did not develop any surface rust. I will try to take some photos of any areas I missed when I cleaned them in the coming days. I would like it to be known that this alone would not put me off buying more Nepros. I really enjoy their tools. The rubber grips on the sockets are something special. So useful in "real life" away from the "princess" shine on the chrome.

These have been stored along with many various other tool brand tools. No rust on any of them and I don't make any special efforts like wiping them with oil. However, I do keep a dehumidifer in the shop because of temperature and humidity swings that can bring moisture which would rust the vehicles (and tools) in the shop.
Out of 6 or 7 orders, I got dinged for duty once. It was a custom order through KTC Japan not the Nepros.net website.

Were all your orders from KTC in Japan?
