Thanks dede2897234,

For some reason every time I e-mail that address, even in reply to an e-mail from her, it bounces back as undeliverable. I think I saw previously someone else has had that same problem.

If anyone else is having that problem, I have been cc'ing every e-mail I send to [email protected]

That seems to be working so far.

Today i received the paper catalogs for Nepros and KTC . The only reply i got was from the mail i sent on the Nepros website contact form. The mails sent to her personal address are coming back every time. I think they have some problems with the mail server or something. I will send them another mail from the contact form because it seems that's the only way it works.

Got my first order in a couple of days ago! I am really impressed with the packaging and the appearance of these tools! The pictures really don't do them justice.

Nice! That adjustable looks unreal. Better wear a welding mask when using outside on a sunny day though.

I've paid duty fees on almost every order. Sometimes it is COD and sometimes I get a bill a week or two later. I believe UPS charges a flat $6.50 processing fee on the order and the duty varies depending on what you bought. Typically my duty fees have been about 3% of the cost.

Mine was close to that as well.

I just received a bill from UPS today for $14.64 ($8.14 customs duties and $6.50 brokerage charges) in addition to the initial shipping charge of $21.85 totaling $36.49 for getting things to the U.S. My merchandise total was $219.70, by the way.

I think from the time I ordered until it shipped took about 3 or 4 days because one item was out of stock according to the e-mail I received. When they shipped it, it was here in 2 days!

I placed my order the 12th, it arrived on the 18th.

I was amazed by the shipping.

UPS wanted a check for $45.00 when he dropped it off though. My order total from Nepros was 483.30 plus 24.95 shipping. I have yet to figure out how UPS determines their fees.

One time I thought the charges were high and I called UPS to get clarification. I eventually ended up talking to the lady in charge of customs duties and she checked the charges and ended up refunding about 2/3 of the charge amount. If you think the charges are too high then give UPS a call and tell them you want to speak to someone about the customs duty charges.

Well being the OCD tool person I am, immediately upon inspecting my first order, I placed a second order, so I may try calling about the fees next time. Especially if they would just send me a bill. Problem with C.O.D. is, if I'm not home, it is probably easier to just let my better half write the check without any snags.

Complications cause questions, which means she will eventually ask exactly what I am spending on these things!

The time I questioned the charges it was for a COD order. I just gave the lady the UPS invoice number and she checked the items and made the adjustment. It took about 3 weeks to get the refund check from UPS.

I called UPS today. They told me their brokerage fee is 6.50 and that customs charged 38.53 for my package. I asked how that amount was calculated and was pretty much told that is just what customs charged.

Was worth a try!

Based on Clarifixer's post for what his customs charges were they must use some weird sliding scale or something... I can't find a pattern.

Does anyone have any idea how customs assesses the fees?

They have a huge list of items and the duty fee is different for each one. It is very subjective since the descriptions can be very vague. A toolbox can be listed as a tool storage unit or a metal storage container or as many other things and each has its own duty percentage. It is a very complex and confusing system. I asked to speak to the person who decides what category each item fits. She had a different interpretation than the person who originally classifed the items. Evidently she has the final say on how an item is classified. I just told them I had purchased the same items before and the duty was much less so I wanted to talk to someone who could explain why the charges were different. I downloaded the customs duty list at one point and could not make any sense of it.

Hello to everyone

Good news today. It seems that my e-mails sent from my company mail account arrived ok in Japan :). They reject for some reason the e-mails sent from Yahoo. Ms. Eri sent me today the price lists for Nepros and KTC. There are to news here, one bad and one good. The bad one, the Nepros tools price is higher than the ones from the Nepros.net web site, around 50% - 70% higher. The good one, the KTC price are very very good. Much lower than I expected. I will have now to make a list and see about the shipping costs, to calculate the final price for the tools landed here. I think they will be lower than Facom, Gedore, Hazet, etc.. the references i have here.

So anyone from Europe want to order something :bounce: Cantause ?:)

Got my second nepros order in today! I still can't get over the finish on these tools. I have mixed feelings, I'm dying to really put them to hard some hard use to see how they hold up, but I'm also a little afraid to "mess up" the finish, so part of me wants to save them for light jobs.

Anyone used theirs real hard yet?

Also, this order total was over $150.00 more than my last one, yet my import fees from UPS was only 32.60, or about 1/3 less than last time. I think they just pick a number at random!

!

The finish on the nepros is like no other tool i have ever owned. I have kept the few nepros items that i have safe and secure and am scared to death of scratching them up. It really is unbelievable chrome for tools.

What did the multi-colored-handle ratchet cost?

They look amazing. It's a hard decision to put them to work or somewhere safe :) . Today Ms. Eri sent me the Nepros price offer with the same price as on the website. She said that for the moment they are keeping those prices but soon will follow an update, and i think that will be an increase. She said that for the moment they can take only wire transfers, no cards, no PayPal.. nothing. I asked also for a shipping quote example to Europe so i could calculate the final price for the tools.

So, nobody from Europe want's to make an order?

The multi-colored-handle ratchet set was 151.30. The part number is NTBR3AL. You have to e-mail Ms. Inoue ahead of your order and she will tell you what to order to get it. I had to order a wrench set and some sockets or something, to get the total right, and she fixed it on her end.

It comes in a metal box, the little nepros shield thing is a metal emblem with a sticker back, I guess for your tool box or something.

Some new members of the Nepros/KTC family..

These look like the toptul ones...

Funny about Lancer making virtually everything, I'm pretty sure it came up in the Tools from the Old World thread about some of their screwdrivers being the same as the Koken ones - I saw Powerbuilt selling VDE versions of the Koken handles, and saw that they were made by Lancer... kinda tempting to buy them to complete the set (I have normal and tang through Koken drivers), even though they're not made in the same country...

Anyhow, we'll get back on topic now - back to Nepros goodness!

Don't ask stupid questions :D
Every normally constituted tool enthusiast would love to buy Nepros tools at US prices!
However I wonder how expensive would be the shipping, if they use UPS I guess it's not cheap... Have you received a quote?
Plus here in Belgium, customs always tax parcels from express carrier, +30%... :(

You see, I'm not alone to buy in bulk :D

I told you that retail was for chumps... :lol_hitti

@Ricleh:

These ratchets are SO nice
May I ask you what's the price of an individual aluminium handle ratchet?

PS:

Damn it, they updated their website, prices are higher, I would say +20%

The price of the individual ratchets was $71.40 when I got them in early December last year.

Wow, the prices have gone up. Good thing I bought the tools when I did. Saved me a lot of money.

Thank you for the price of the aluminium handle ratchet.

Please don't make it harder for people who haven't bought anything yet but want to do it soon... :)
I'm not going to make nice dreams, 20% increase means 20% less tool

Have you noticed any problems with the new website. In Firefox I don't get any button to buy the tool. In Internet Explorer I see the buttons, but they are just boxes with a red x inside, indicating something wrong with the image file associated with the button. I also added an item to the cart and when I deleted it from the cart I got an error message.

I suspected a price increase was coming and consequently I bought a lot of tools last year. Now I am glad that I did.

Stop being mean, please!!! :D

I have exactly the same problems with boxes and sometimes with pictures on the new website
I can't delete things from my cart either...

This new website really *****, it's unstable, they should go back at the previous one, it's fine if we have to contact them for new items :D

Really, I'm depressed now! I spent hours to carefully choose what I would buy... They don't even have the half moon wrench set online anymore...
I think I'll buy some Facom sockets I'm watching on ebay since a long time, to make me feel better, just like women eating ice cream in front of a romantic movie on a rainy day... :)

PS:
Btw, is the red of the aluminium handle a nice "Ferrari" type of red? on some pictures it looks like a bit "cherry red"...
I hesitate between red and blue, but I wonder what they charge for now...

I sent them an email warning of the problems I have encountered. I am pretty sure I saw the half moon wrenches individually on the site, maybe not the set though.

Maybe they'll go back to the previous version the time to fix the problems :D I think I'm dreaming awake...
Yes they have them individually but not in set... I'm not sure but I think there were many more wrenches sets on the previous site.

Yes, 10-20%. A bit of a shame really. They were exceptional value. It has certainly delayed my 1/2 set purchase. I may just stick with what I already have..
