These were the best my phone camera could come up with. I compared the 17mm Nepros 1/2" drive against a Snap-On 17mm in 3/8" drive to try and complement/compare the off-corner engagement each has.

I like the Nepros just fine. It's not a staggering difference in quality between the two lines unlike the ratchets (there my preference is far and above Nepros). I have only used the Nepros sockets for restoration work and leave the well-used Snap-On or SK sockets I have for "dirty" work. Because of that I cannot attest to how useful the rubber grip ring is with oily hands compared to Snap-On's slight knurling.

It has been 3 weeks now.

What's the normal lead-time? I'm assuming the delay is in packaging/sourcing/replenishing inventory? Amazon Japan has been shipping in-stock items to me in maybe 5 days.

Not complaining, just have ants in my pants and eager for the order to arrive.

Hi Stuey,

I would be patient with KTC.

I placed my Nepros order on 10/22. I received an email order update on 10/29. A representative wrote that due to backorders, my order will ship out of Japan middle to late November.

Much to my surprise, I received my package last Wednesday. :rocker:

I would email their customer service. They are out of stock on a lot of items and depending on what you ordered it could be a matter of weeks to months (I had ordered the adjustable wrench which they said would be 3 months at least). They can probably provide you a better estimate.

Depending on what else you ordered, you might also be able to just drop the back ordered items and get the rest of your things right away.

For the back ordered items, they might still be in stock at places like Amazon JP so you could just pay a few dollars more and get them that way.

Amazon JP had very slim selection when I checked the other day.

I'll do that - contact them - but I'm hesitant to bug them too much.

I wanted the adjustable wrench as well, but couldn't even find it on their website this time. I figured things that were out of stock would give me a warning at checkout - only one item said supplies were running low.

That's probably the item that they've run out of then. And yeah - they removed the adjustable wrench from their website for now because the next production run is a long ways away I think. It was up there until I asked them about the ETA on mine and then the next day it was gone.

What all did you order by the way? Someone here might be able to point you in the direction of where you can get the backordered item faster.

So, I emailed at 8:59pm ET and they replied at 9:17pm ET.

Production for my order will be completed on 11/25. DHL will pick it up around 11/27. It should leave Japan the next week and I'll receive it in early December.

Meanwhile, I can't get a USA vendor to get back to me about the wrong Milwaukee organizer they sent in lieu of the Packout one I ordered. Or another vendor to explain why a November shipping ETA turned into late-December.

Here's what I ordered.

I wanted to try more, but this broke my budget enough. It's a broad sampling with intent to fill holes in my tool box while also being of review potential.

I've been meaning to get stubbies, but kept putting it off; this seemed like a good opportunity.

That's a pretty nice selection and it's good to hear that your orders actually not that far off. I got the quick spinner recently and that thing is surprising. I won't ruin it for you but you'll understand what I mean once you get it.

Also - yes. Customer service is great. I think it's a small team of 2 maybe 3 people that handle all the orders from nepros.net

Let me know how the socket rail is. I've been considering making my own socket organizer tray from a nice board of some exotic hardwood wood and a bunch of their rails.

It looked pretty hand for either mounting to a wood top, or creating a small stand for. Figured it wouldn't hurt to try, and I could use it for a mix of sockets I might want to keep out and at the ready.

I have 1/4" rails from Nepros and Ko-ken Z-EAL and I like the Ko-ken one much better. It's much easer to remove and reattach sockets on the Ko-ken, the socket holders don't loosely slide around on the rail, and it has a nice magnetic base.

The Zeal rails are the best I've used.

I agree with both above statements. The Nepros rails are a good decorative piece, but the Koken are way more useable while still looking nice. The strength of the magnetic base is just perfect.

I just added the long 3/8” drive to my little collection. These ratchets have been an absolute pleasure to use, especially with the spinner adapters. By far my favorite tool brand. I think next up for me is the long handled 1/4”.

have a look at their website which serves as their english catalog. all the specs are there.

How long is the handle, Ive been looking for a longer 1/4.

Yes their website nepros.net will show specs for all their stuff.

The one I pictured is part number NBR290l and it is 175mm long. It feels great in the hand and is a very usable length.

How much of an upcharge is the blue?

limited edition & not been made in some time. sold out long ago.

but when they were available, not much of an upcharge. at that time:
  • 3/8" ratchet: 11.7k jpy vs 13k jpy for blue iP
  • 1/4" ratchet: 9k jpy vs 10k jpy for blue iP

unfortunately, i had to pay dearly for mine. >200usd each incl shipping (the fact only expensive DHL is available rn didn't help).

Got the long handle 1/2" drive ratchet. The thing is beautiful and very stout. Another tool I'm looking forward to using for the rest of my life! Here's my impressions and a detailed look if anyone is interested.

Nice review! I do want to get a Nepros ratchet at some point but will wait a bit. Are you an FJ60 owner? (Saw it on your YT channel icon.)

Yes I have a 1984 60 series. I rebuilt the motor a couple years ago. I rebuilt the front axle and all the brakes in October and then took it out to Moab and all over Colorado off-roading, camping, and site seeing for a few weeks. Not a lot of power in the mountains and going over independence pass at 12,000 ft with the carb but it made it! I also have an FJ Cruiser, but the FJ60 is my pride and joy!
