Apologies.this thread went cold.. the summer has been extremely busy. as my life always seems to be.....
but the summer was spent landscaping and of course working.
I am now working in the studio office. but the shop itself is still quite in a disorganized funk.

Some progress.. but not a ton......
Hopefully I can get back this fall and winter.

Pics tell the story better than I can explain....

This old 40's wingback has been in the family since the late 40's.... plans are to re upholster in something that sits the surroundings.

So.. work has been busy,Life has been busy...
I needed to get some bench lighting in quick order... I just want up to the LED large 4 footers that are in the ceiling....
I went on Amazon(good or Bad)... and for under $200.... I got myself 20 Barrina LED T5 lights... a very nice installation,... incredibly easy and they are up at 6500k.
I plan on hardwiring them to a dual with at the bench wall..... soon

Pretty happy with them so far.

A Before and After Thing.

As for the shop.. things are moving slowly.. still have a ton to unbox... but family and work keep me busy.....
Had to slide the cars on Skates to move stuff around and free up a Bay.....
A side note.. Pushing early Ford Hotrods on skates is quite easy..but 57 Fords have a bit more weight.... or maybe I am just getting old.
hahahah

I understand the floor thing and not wanting to move everything again. I just had to fill in all the control joints cuz I hate how they fill with dirt here in Arizona! Maybe up in the Great White North you don’t get as much fine dust and dirt as we do here in the South West?!

@SilverJimmy ... yes. we do get fine dust and dirt.. and yes the concrete floor cuts do fill up with debris... I understand .
I have cleaned them out after the build was completed(the main construction.
Need to finish the second floor with insulation and making a guest room for family and friends when they visit, but even more pressing is to get an apron poured in the front of the building and possibly concrete parking pads out front.
I think that's where I want to spend money when I get some! ha ha ha!
Not saying I will not finish the floors... but There are a few things more pressing.

And thank you for the kind words...

And other side Note... I had a good friend and fabricator bend me up a new bench table top... did a super fast sketch on the dimensions and within a day he had it bent on his big Brake...
The old bench is nothing special, just a strange sentimental value... but it was 4 inches lower than the others and had a crappy thick MDF top....
I needed something to Hammer on hard.. so I made a good skeleton fame out of 2x4's and then fastened the new top to it and secured it to the wall
Painted all and it works good.

And yes.. my benches are messy again......

Thanks for sharing your build with us, Jeff! I've been a big fan of your artwork for quite a while. I really love your office space! I am planning an office for the loft of my barndominium build, so I'm taking some inspiration from yours.

One question: how were you able to source the weathered tin on your office wall? Is there someone near you that specializes in reclaiming old building materials like that, or did you get lucky driving by a jobsite where they were tearing it off an old building?

Ahh man.thanks so much!.....
It was fairly easy to get the old tin from our area.I live very rural and deep in Amish territory.
I just looked locally through FB Marketplace and asked around.... a 9x3 sheet was about $15-18 per sheet....
They take down a lot of old 100 year old barns here.... kind of a shame...because they are all being replaced by modern structures and the bank barn of yesterday are disappearing.
Green, blue, reds are popular colours around here.....I found some killer yellow,Barn roofing) really old and neat..but someone bought it quicker than I could move on it.
Another neat thing are from old Milking barns...24x24 metal tiles with a small pattern.... lots of age... but I chose not to go in that direction.
As I mentioned. the metal framed office windows were a great score...Old Factory windows are getting very hard to find.... reclaimers are asking up to $3000 for one 4x9 foot frame these days.... and to be honest.. they are only good for interior design pieces... I would never use them for exterior windows.. they have zero r value.

The short answer... not hard at all..... and pretty in-expensive.
I really wanted to do wood ceilings and even an old wood floor from these barns.... lots of character.. but the permits would not allow them into the build due to fire codes.
I guess I could do that now..but.... That's a ton of work to cover all up.(and kinda foolish.)
