Got into some maintenance & repair on one of my Jr. 4Wheelers (Polaris Predator 90).

This lift table has changed my life in regards to working on things like this. It made this little project a pleasure!

Oh geez, you're on here Dave?! Lol, it's a small world man! You like that CB plate on the furnace huh?..lol. I had an extra one kicking around, figured I throw one on there.

All told, I like messing around with all sorts of mechanical stuff in the shop (if you couldn't tell from this thread...lol). But you won't find any boilers in there, that's for sure...haha.

Take it easy man, I'll see you at the plant sometime....

Cool. 40 x 40 might not be enough for all that!! Lol.

I mean, you have several bikes right? Figure parking for all of them during the winter, plus an open area for a bike lift/area for working on one (or more) of them. Between that and a little space for your vehicles....that's some space man!

true dat! BTW, Im surprised no one advised you about your Air Comp. to Pipe the Suction Outside.
Many have made the change up by repiping to the building exterior and using Solberg Filters among other Silencers.

Haha....unfortunately no man. I have been working on a remote project in VT. I leave home on Monday AM (sometimes Sunday night), and don't return till Friday night....been this way since March. Things are staring to return to normal now though, and I am home this week!

That said, I bought a new 6' x 14' landscape style trailer a month ago. I have it in the shop now for some custom lighting and tie down hoops. It been nice working until the shop again! I'll get some pictures up soon...

Well hello again everybody! What can I say, life and work got crazy busy on me, and I just haven't been able to keep the updates as regular as I would have liked.

That said, quite a lot has changed around the shop since I last updated the thread.

Oh, and bulletpruf, the cougar is still not on the road yet....lol


First things first, the new trailer. Well, it's a year old now

Since buying the trailer I pulled all of the crappy incandescent lighting and upgraded to all LED. Put it up on the lift for that work, took my time and had fun with it....

Got a couple new pieces of equipment.

First, the new 10 ton shop press. I't has already saved my bacon on several projects...

The shop layout has changed a bit....Nothing drastic, just some new furniture and shuffled some things around a bit. Much more functional and usable now with my small work/electronics work desk.

Aside from actually working on the shop, I have been doing a ton "in" the shop. Cars/boats/mowers/chainsaws....you name it, I've been working on it. Ill post some of those going forward as well.

That's it for now.....I'll be working on keeping the thread updated a lot more often now!!

I'm planning on a big cleanup and new set of pictures. The ones I posted above are from a few months ago....and right now the shop needs a good thorough cleaning & sweeping. I sure wish I paid a professional to pour the floor. It's really tough to keep clean with its rough surface. Any amount of sweeping makes huge dust clouds....lol

I knew Fords mistake in early pony cars from that day foward!
That 351w gave my 428cjs and my 429Boss something to wrote home about!

It is a 351W! I am not planning on a bore unless it needs it to make #1 cylinder right (it has light rust due to the plug being left out years ago). All the other cylinders look great, I can still see the cross hash from the previous rebuild. If it needs a bore to make right then I was thinking build it into a stroker.....but motor building is quite a ways off at this point.

Hey folks, just checking in. I’ve been doing a few things in/on/around the shop. Most notably was the finishing of the stair hatch. It came out pretty nice, and the 30# counter weight seems to be just right! I’ll post pictures soon.

I had a quick question for those of you who have parts washers in your shop(s). I am finally getting ready to buy some solution for my parts washer. I’ve researched myself into insanity with all the options. I wanted to see what you all are doing for parts washer solution, and how it’s been working out. Please keep in mind, my shop is not heated 24/7. In the winter time I let the place go cold when I’m not working in there. So whatever the solution, it cannot be sensitive to cold temperatures (able to freeze).

parts washers are cheap! the cleaning solution is not! I have a cheap metal one and it gets used some. I like it cause its deep and has a shelf in it. I keep the lid down when not in use, not used much in the cold weather. But for about $100, you can get one that will probably do the job. Sometimes on CL you can find some nice commercial type ones. Good luck.

Yeah, I have noticed that too! I want to use the parts washer I have because it’s big, it has the strainer/sub base, and a few other smaller containers with lift strainers built in for smaller parts, plus the nicer pump. Just got to find some good solution for it. Looks like the “better” stuff I’ve found is about $100, cheap stuff for $50ish....

The stuff I use has a nice smell to it, but it will dry out your skin. I by my stuff from a farm type store that we have around here is Orscheelins (sp). Happy Thanksgiving to yours.
