How about posting some action shots of the new car? Driving impressions? Audience reaction when you fill up at the gas station/cruising/show-n-shine ..... Very nice car!

Thanks Ody! I've only put a couple hundred miles on it so far. The audience reaction has been very positive. Lotsa compliments and thumbs up.

As for driving impressions, there are a few minor issues. It starts and runs great. There is a bit of low resonance vibration at freeway speeds. Tire balance? Driveline? No big deal. We'll find out. A few other minor annoyances but nothing much for a car that's not that much older than I am. That's what winter is for, right? All in all, I'm very happy with it.

Going to a small car show in Burlington on the 24th and then the Arlington Dragstrip Renunion on Sept. 13th. We'll see how the public reacts.

I was pleasantly surprised to see you were able to find a forever home to that beautiful stray. Thanks for taking the time to read all my blather. I almost cried when the sedan went too but it had just sat too long. Things changed for the better and I was able to pick up the "stray" so all's well that ends well". I intend to "personalize" it over the winter. I can't just leave it the way the last guy had it. I'm pretty picky when it comes to cars so some things must change.

If I ever can score some fab equipment for a reasonable price I just might build that receptacle. I'm lookin'!

Yet another great GJ build thread - and I really like seeing some of the "other stuff" too, like the copper window boxes on the house and the model cars (I've built about 10 and have about 20 kits that I haven't started - one day when I have some "spare time"?? ).

It's a shame that a lot of your old photos have gone, but I've been able to see some of the subject matter (of the missing photos) in later posts - so that helps.

BBchrevo........thanks. This garage would have remained just a big box if I hadn't stumbled upon the Garage Journal.

I got back into model cars as a form of stress relief from running my own sheet metal business and it was the perfect outlet. Haven't done any for a few years but looking forward to getting back into it. I'm retired now but "spare" time is still hard to come by.

It's well past time to get some more stuff done on the shop. Picking away at the Nova now to get it just how I want.

Great to hear from you Dave! That vibration thing reminds of my old Triumph 650 TR6C. That thing would put your whole body to sleep! Not to mention the parts that vibrated loose and fell off. I'd love to have it back though. Good times!

Nothing much to update. I've just been messing with the Nova. Got it running good, put new wheels and tires on it, etc.

I could do a loft but I've got about 175 sq. ft. of storage above the office and bathroom and that seems to be plenty for now and I'd like to keep to other end open in case I can score a lift someday. I guess I'm not a very good hoarder!

I'm working on ideas to do some major rearranging.

Sorry for taking so long to reply. Been "busy".

No updates tp the garage as it's about "done". Saving for a lift.

The Nova moved on to a new home. It just didn't do it for me.

Bought a '40 Chev coupe with a big inch small block, T-56 trans and a 9" w/4/11's. It'll get your blood flowing! Fun car. Even my wife got a big kick out of it.

One of my favorite hot rods. That is obviously a serious engine. You don't see shaft-mount rocker arms in anything but a no-expense spared build. It's been nice knowing you. I wouldn't have time to post on GJ if that was sitting in my garage. And your bride loves it too -- Priceless.

Thanks Bob, I think it is pretty serious. All internals are Eagle forged pieces. 10:1 comp with Mahle pistons, AFR 227cc CNC ported heads etc. Short block is from Motown, 454 c.i. It goes like stink. Unfortunately all we have is rain right now. Makin' me crazy!! It'll be a hoot once car show season gets here.

Wow after reading that I'm going to guess you have closer to 550-600hp at the crank. AFR 227's are some serious heads and with 454CI breathing through them you will have to be careful with that loud pedal.

I think 550 is pretty close. As a ready to go crate motor it put out a little over 600 with a single plane intake and a 1050 cfm dominator with World Products 220cc heads. This one has an Edelbrock dual plane Air Gap with a 850 Demon so it would be down a little from their results. Still plenty haha!
