How about posting some action shots of the new car? Driving impressions? Audience reaction when you fill up at the gas station/cruising/show-n-shine ..... Very nice car!

Thanks Ody! I've only put a couple hundred miles on it so far. The audience reaction has been very positive. Lotsa compliments and thumbs up.

As for driving impressions, there are a few minor issues. It starts and runs great. There is a bit of low resonance vibration at freeway speeds. Tire balance? Driveline? No big deal. We'll find out. A few other minor annoyances but nothing much for a car that's not that much older than I am. That's what winter is for, right? All in all, I'm very happy with it.

Going to a small car show in Burlington on the 24th and then the Arlington Dragstrip Renunion on Sept. 13th. We'll see how the public reacts.

Thanks for dropping by!

Sweet ride mang.

Thanks fergus! It's great to see you out and about!!

TB, I viewed your shop when I first joined GJ, but didn't subscribe to it. Things are looking good, especially the new ride. Now I'll have to keep my eyes open for the GJ gathering at your place :rocker:. If I make it over to Arlington this weekend, I'll look for you.

I've just finished the entire thread, and I'm impressed with you work. I almost cried when you sold the other Nova then had no cars in there. I was pleasantly surprised to see you were able to find a forever home to that beautiful stray. Keep up the good work, and if you ever decide to make one of those copper used liquid receptacles I'd love to buy one for my shop.

Thanks for stopping in Toolfool! I'd be happy to have a gathering at some point. I'll be at the Arlington thing from around 8:30 til I get tired or too hot! It's one of my favorite events.

Thanks for taking the time to read all my blather. I almost cried when the sedan went too but it had just sat too long. Things changed for the better and I was able to pick up the "stray" so all's well that ends well". I intend to "personalize" it over the winter. I can't just leave it the way the last guy had it. I'm pretty picky when it comes to cars so some things must change.

If I ever can score some fab equipment for a reasonable price I just might build that receptacle. I'm lookin'!

Thanks again!

Awesome build TB. I just flipped through the pages looking at pics mostly...but then I started noticing that a lot of pics are broken or non-existent :( This new car you got recently, I'm assuming it is the one in your signature?

I just started reading your thread (I was drawn to it by the Nova in your signature line ), and I was impressed from the beginning - then it just gets better.

...and I'm only up to post #300 !!
(but I felt that I just had to comment)

Yet another great GJ build thread - and I really like seeing some of the "other stuff" too, like the copper window boxes on the house and the model cars (I've built about 10 and have about 20 kits that I haven't started - one day when I have some "spare time"??).

It's a shame that a lot of your old photos have gone, but I've been able to see some of the subject matter (of the missing photos) in later posts - so that helps.

Great work Paul.

Thanks rparlee! There are some pics missing due to (probably) me rearranging my albums. I have looked through here and I don't think I can resurrect them.
The car is on the previous page to this one. Some changes coming to that also. Gotta personalize it ya know! Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks Catadj78! Take all the ideas you want. I stole most of them from GJ myself. Thanks for taking the time to browse your way through here.

I love all the projects! Keep us posted!

Thanks for checking in Sean. I love those Buicks! Especially that one in your other post with the WA plates on it!

BBchrevo........thanks. This garage would have remained just a big box if I hadn't stumbled upon the Garage Journal.

I got back into model cars as a form of stress relief from running my own sheet metal business and it was the perfect outlet. Haven't done any for a few years but looking forward to getting back into it. I'm retired now but "spare" time is still hard to come by.

It's well past time to get some more stuff done on the shop. Picking away at the Nova now to get it just how I want.

Come back any time!

Happy New Year TB!

I know things have slowed down a bit in the Pedestrian garage lately, but I always look forward to your updates. Keep them coming in 2015 please!

Thanks Shopnut and Jack O.. I'm thinking this will be the year of the welding table, air compressor and some sprucing up. I've done a lot of car and house stuff in there that it could use some paint work, benchtop work etc.

Thanks for checking in!

Long time no see (talk)!

Excited about your ride!

Honestly, the more I do this garage thing, the more I realize less is more. Kudos to you for seeing stuff that is just going to sit forever and moving it on to greener pastures. Its hard but so worth it!

Now I just need to take my own advice:lol:

I used to ride 1970s dirtbikes...the way the vibration numbs your hands and makes your teeth fall out ....its just all part of the 'vintage experience' !!! :D

Great to hear from you Dave! That vibration thing reminds of my old Triumph 650 TR6C. That thing would put your whole body to sleep! Not to mention the parts that vibrated loose and fell off. I'd love to have it back though. Good times!

Any updates?

Do you have enough room to add a loft area? It looks like the ceilings are pretty tall.

Nothing much to update. I've just been messing with the Nova. Got it running good, put new wheels and tires on it, etc.

I could do a loft but I've got about 175 sq. ft. of storage above the office and bathroom and that seems to be plenty for now and I'd like to keep to other end open in case I can score a lift someday. I guess I'm not a very good hoarder!

I'm working on ideas to do some major rearranging.

Sorry for taking so long to reply. Been "busy".

No updates tp the garage as it's about "done". Saving for a lift.

The Nova moved on to a new home. It just didn't do it for me.

Bought a '40 Chev coupe with a big inch small block, T-56 trans and a 9" w/4/11's. It'll get your blood flowing! Fun car. Even my wife got a big kick out of it.

Couple of pics:

One of my favorite hot rods. That is obviously a serious engine. You don't see shaft-mount rocker arms in anything but a no-expense spared build. It's been nice knowing you. I wouldn't have time to post on GJ if that was sitting in my garage. And your bride loves it too -- Priceless.

I bet that will get your blood flowing! 4.11's in my car make it a handful and I bet you have an easy 100 hp on me. Try not to hurt yourself or the car that is too pretty!

That sounds like fun! Name the time and date and will be there.

Best,

Ody.

BTW, TB, that coupe looks very street worthy and lots of eye candy!

:thumbup:Now I LIKE THAT:thumbup:

Thanks Buick Farmer!

Wow man you **** big time :thumbup::thumbup:

I'll take that as a compliment! Thanks Sunbimmer!

Rid of the Nova? I thought "oh no" till I saw the coupe. Nice!

Ha, Ha. Sometimes change is a good thing!

What a great addition to the family.

Thanks guys!

Thanks Bob, I think it is pretty serious. All internals are Eagle forged pieces. 10:1 comp with Mahle pistons, AFR 227cc CNC ported heads etc. Short block is from Motown, 454 c.i. It goes like stink. Unfortunately all we have is rain right now. Makin' me crazy!! It'll be a hoot once car show season gets here.

Anytime! I'll send you my address if you PM me. We get up to Whidbey once in a while to see the BIL, but they live on the south end so we usually do the ferry boat thing. We'll probably try and do the Oak Harbor car show as the BIL and other friends from up there should be there. I'll let ya know.

Thanks jb, I'm sorta easing into it. the weather here is not cooperating for now, but the little bit of "test flights" I've done were exhilarating! It seems to wiggle just a bit and then goes nice and straight.

Anytime Ody, lemme know if you ever head down this way.

Nice ride! Bonnet looks great.

Thanks Jyzze! I like me a few louvers too!

Perfect. I'm on the south end. Maybe we should gather at my place ? See if Ody can make it.

And I've been doing the Mopars Unlimited show at OH Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealership the day after the OH show.

Wow after reading that I'm going to guess you have closer to 550-600hp at the crank. AFR 227's are some serious heads and with 454CI breathing through them you will have to be careful with that loud pedal.

Not sure of my schedule yet and have committed to sponsoring a RWB Porsche build sometime in August. If we are open that weekend, would be thrilled to attend.

Looks like a very well organized car show with something for everyone.

I think 550 is pretty close. As a ready to go crate motor it put out a little over 600 with a single plane intake and a 1050 cfm dominator with World Products 220cc heads. This one has an Edelbrock dual plane Air Gap with a 850 Demon so it would be down a little from their results. Still plenty haha!
