That C'man box is coming along nicely. We are toolbox brothers
I know BEAVO, I know. I'm almost there on the shop. I've just been hesitant to really tear into it 'til I get a little further along.
I'm subscribed to your thread on Steve's so I've been watchin' you have fun![]()

Nice.. You've done a good job.
"After a couple failed attempts to paint the letters red with One Shot I cleaned it off with laquer thinner and started over. Then I just 'colored' the letters with a red marker."
Your toolbox looks great! Go to Hobby Lobby or other similar store and get a paint marker. It's oil based and opaque, it would be the way you want it (painted) they way you can (marker style). Just a thought! Keep up the great work!
Nice find TB66. And it looks like brand new again. I'm actually surprised that blue didn't get resprayed with black though. You may have a lid for it but I don't see one so make sure you put something on it. And I seem to recall the factory lids have some kind of safety feature that allows the lid to close in the event of a fire.
I'll be happy to send you some greasy parts so you can give it a whirl, if you are having trouble finding some!![]()
Thats funny I just picked up the same one in the same condition for $20 also. The guy told me it takes 8 gallons just to get it to pump Im still trying to find some cheaper solvant for it.What were you going to use?
I hear simple green is a good solvant for those.
. I'd like to have some around anyway so I think I'll get a gallon and do an experiment. Nice thing is that it is not flammable.TB, we ran JP-8 in one at the hangar, for like a day...the smell and oily residue was ****** aweful...we had to bite the bullet and buy the purpose made parts solvent.
Two caveats:
1. I hate the smell of raw kerosene, gave me a headache
2. Pilots are notriously sensitive to getting dirty and that stuff always made stuff feel dirty...you are probably not such a whimp as I am.
FWIW.
Shaun
thanks but i havnt got much done on mine either![]()

Thanks Dave,
As long as we don't become 'stolen car' brothers. J/K I feel for ya.
Looks really good! I love it!
Glad they got there. A little history of the lights, they were in the University of Texas Law Library on those cabinets that I bought. SO they have been down here in the South for a while, they may take a little to climatize to the cold NW. Enjoy!
Hey, I know that feeling!
Hah, no kiddin!
By the way, those lights are going to rock underneath the cabinets. What are they? Halogen, fluorescent? Just make sure they don't get to hot under them wood cabinets, if they are in the 'lights that get really hot' category![]()
.looking good is that your house in back round?what made you choose shingles over metal roofing and are you using metal for the siding or you using vynle![]()

That toolbox looks awesome!!
Gotta love it...its either pay more $ or pay with more work...either way its going to cost you.I get caught in those arguments "I can buy it but....I can save a ton if I do this way." Then when I am super tired from all the work I think...."some times I wish I would have just paid the extra money...but wait...I am broke so I don't have that choice!" Can't wait to see what you do with them!

No worries. The extended weather calls for highs in the mid to upper 30's and lows in the mid 20's. I'm not in that much of a hurry. Mid 40's is ok. Besides, my hose is frozenI dont envy you pressure washing that stuff this time of year. Last night it got down in the low 30's here. I am not a big fan of this cold stuff.
TB, "You're gonna need a bigger truck". Glad you got more boards though. You're one step closer to getting it done
As for the dog in the truck, they don't talk much. But I'm sure he appreciated the burger.
The truth.
I do have a big truck but I didn't license it yet as it needs a little work. It's a beast. '78 Chevy 3/4 ton. My FIL bought it new and it just hit 100K. 10mpg lol. I did drive it 1600 mile rt to pick up my Nova. Never missed a beat.
As for man's best friend, as soon as I grab a set of keys he goes nuts. Then he sleeps for the whole trip.
It'd be nice (I think) to just buy stuff or pay someone to do stuff but I'm not in that income bracket. Brute strength and awkwardness, that's my motto
Agreed!![]()
Only needs a license if you get caught
Those Dakotas are tough. Dad had a red and white '87 regular cab 4x4 he bought new. When I went off to college 100k+ later it went with me.

.....100k+ miles on the truck, not 100k+ dollars to get me raised![]()

You Westies and snow crack me up! Its snowing, stop everything!
I'm just playing.....
We got about the same amount as you did, but its a very dry, buffy snow...not like the wet heavy stuff you guys get. That stuff is awful...it aways seems to come down super fast there to. I hated it when it snowed while I was there.
Heres a pic for 08 when we got a grand total of 96 inches of snow in one year...now that sucked!
Good news for you, it should be gone as fast as it came. Snow never seems to last that long there....though you are in the convergent zone!![]()
I was wondering how you were doing up there, my brother has been facebooking me his ply with the horses and the snow up there.
By the way its getting to 80* here today. Kinda hot in the shop in fact may need to open the back door for a nice breeze.
(got the check) thanks
Looks like a good day to spend in the shop!
Westies? I thought we were coasters. No matter........it's raining now so we have a slippery slush fest now. My property is a mess. Branches and stuff.
