I need to finish insulating my shop. I have a portable torpedo heater to use when I am in the shop but would like to hook up a propane heater on a thermostat so I can keep It around 50 when I am not there.

NICE! HEAT! Ceiling Fans! 2 weeks for a rebuild? Hope you have better luck than me on the 356 project.....
Great progress on your shop/garage!
With WARM wishes,
Ody.
Congrats on the heat in the shop. Tonight is one night I could use it here. Fortunately for us heat is only needed maybe a few weeks a year. Happy New Years and hope for a great year in your shop.
Wouldn't the appropriate time for a gathering be DURING the insulating nightmare!Since I'm far enough away to beg off, I just thought I'd throw that out there! Nothing fun about insulating (obstacles or no obstacles), but it's amazing the difference a good insulation job makes.
The place is coming along great Paul...and congrats on no more mortgage payment (or any other for that matter!). That is truly an accomplishment.
Good to see the bug coming along too....what will you have left to do on it when it get's back from the hospital?
Oh...and make that garden shed a little bigger than you think you'll need if you can....It's a great place to stash most anything you don't want cluttering up the shop!
Keep on keepin' on! Looking great!
Chris
Congrats on the heat and insulation. I'm sure it really makes a world of difference working out there this time of year.
And great to see the Bug work has started. Just curious, what was wrong with the engine? I'm approaching that fork in the road in the near future. It has been 25+ years since I helped my dad rebuilt this engine and I'm nit sure if I want to try it again, farm it out or just replace it with new.
wow..... TB up until recently i havnt been on the site.... and i got to say your shop may be in my top 5 favorite shops on the site..... mainly because it was done on the cheap and using old cabinets etc instead of buying all new....so im really digging the repurposed fence boards on the wall..... they look great. how do you like the office? do you do much in there? also i may have missed but did you sell the Malibu? sorry for the 10000 questions but trying to catch up..... lol i just went thru the whole thread front to back. kinda sad to see the nova go... but i understand... mine just sits...not much time or money lol.... also what did you und up doing with the corner where the desk was? also what about mrs tb lil mom cave? lol... ok thats enough questions for now..... again i really LOVE the garage
Hey Beavo!! Thanks for the kind words!
The office: It's a nice place to take a break, waste time on GJ, etc. I hardly ever turn that TV on. It was a good place to warm up before I got heat in the garage.
Nova/Malibu: Yep, I sold them both. The Nova would have taken forever and cost too much. The Malibu I thought about but I already did a pretty nice one so I couldn't get too worked up about it. I will get a project in here in the near future, just not sure what yet. I'm subscribed to your thread on Steve's so I check up on you once in a while. I'm impressed by what you've accomplished so far.
The corner where the desk was: I put the desk back in it of course lol. I think I'm going to extend my little loft over to the rear wall and just put some shelving back there. Maybe a drop down attic ladder. Not sure.
The mom cave: Not much yet.

Future sleeping loft for when SWMBO sends you to the doghouse?
Too funny!!!HEY BRO!!!! Mom says you owe me a Ferarri.

Hi Paul,
I've just spend the better part of two days reading through the whole story.
I take my hat off to you. You've done an amazing job on building and outfitting your shop. I hope I get to have that sort of garage space when I get to your agehaha.
Regards,
Dirk
Great looking place Paul! I just spent the last few hours of this lazy Sunday going through all 60 pages. I recently bought my first house in the Arlington Heights area, and since then, I've been antsy to get a space of my own for projects. To be sure, I'll be borrowing some of your ideas.
Thanks k.rollin! This whole group is a gold mine of ideas.
Not much has happened here garagewise for quite a while. My son got married here on the property about a week ago so all of our time, effort and money was devoted to that event for the last couple of months. It turned out awesome but we're really glad that it's behind us.
There are still a few things that need to happen in the shop like a decent compressor, welding table and I'm itching to get fun car in there.
Where in the Heights are you?
).Cool ride....just don't run over those Chickens in the back!
Really cool garage, I really like it!!!
Congrats Paul
That is one sweeeet ride. I have always been in love with those cars but never found one for some reason. Is it a 66 or 67??
Enjoy it for the both of us OK
Don
Something told me once you've had a second gen nova ,you would get another one. Cool car and shop!
Sweeeet Ride, TB! Congrats.
Nice score! Sounds like both are Keepers!
Have always liked that body style and it looks great with those wheels. Hope you get to put miles on it with tons of smiles!
My favorite color! That's a great addition to your garage. Looks like a '67(?).
Chris
SWEET!!! I hope I look half that good when I turn 50!
You deserve that car TB. And apparently your wife thinks so too!
Now go have some fun with the old girl (talking about the old Chevy, of course).
BTW, it looks great in the garage and I'm sure the car is honored to have it as a new home!
nice
Very nice Nova
And like the others said, it really looks at home in your garage.
