I finally got my loan to begin work on my 40'x80'X16' Man Castle. It will sit on a 1/2 acre of land . Site work has begun removing trees and stumps. I should start on the building pad this Friday. Pictures to come.

This is a copy of the approval floor plan it needed a little tweeking. like the door at the porch will be double french doors, and a gable on the porch to match up with the 120'x20' awninig on the north side of the building.
i'm in the process of building the pad for the building 50'x100'x2'.
Foundation work should begin in two weeks .

It surel has been a long wet 3 months, it has actually averaged to rain 3 days out of every FRICKIN week since I got the ok to build. I finally have something to look at. A picture is worth a thousand words.

What brand building did you purchase for this build?

The company's name is S&S Steel Buildings. Located in Louisiana near Breaux Bridge, about 50miles west of Baton Rouge. Its all engineered and rated for 105mph winds. They have a beam maker and pretty much fab it all. from flat bar to rolls of metal for walls and roof.

the bldg. 40'x80'x16' along with a 15'x40'x14' screened front porch and a 20'x 95'x14' awning on the door side. The apartment will be 40'x32'

I will have a 2 post lift for the automotive section along with a pad to set my 2002 "B4C" Black on Black Camaro LACRISHA, tools work bench ect.
A fabrication section with a big Fab table, welders tig, mig, & stick. A cutting rig grinders and other fab tools.
A wood working section with planner, tablesaw, jointer, bandsaw, radial armsaw. miter saw ect.
everything that can have wheels on it will to make room for what ever project I have going
at the time. I will have the awning with enough recepticals to work out side if need to.

Day 4 completed the 1st phase of the metal building part.
Today the Framing crew arrived and began framing the living quaters.

Thursday was a really good day of framing. Lil Danny and Speed must have eatin their SPINACH. They remindded of 2 cat squirrels building a nest before winter.

Thursday nite came and about 11:00 PM the ARTIC BLAST HIT. Rain , Freezing rain,Sleet ans SNOW. Can you imagine that, so much for Global Warmin.
I-10 and every Bridge aroun froze. No work until the Thaw!!!!
Anyway Danny and Speedy made it by and made another day. They fixed a big O **** the double french door was laid out 6'ft too far to the east so they mooved it back towards the middle of the building.

[Days 5,6,&7 of the living quaters started out in the Snow and ended up Hot humid and nasty but the show goes on.

Thanks for the information on your product. My floor man is checking on the type of sealer he had purchased with the Kemkio concrete stain product he has for the floors. Once I see what he purchased for the shop area I'll be giving you a call.

Clean and stain floors. After the floor was stained the Rains come again. It might be dry enough to apply sealer by Friday. Im thinking about setting out some crawfish traps in the yard. They are starting to come out of the ground from all the fricken rain!!!!!!!!!!!!

IT IS 8 DAYS AND COUNTING WAITING ON FLOORS TO DRY FOR LAST COAT OFTHE SEALER THIS FRICKEN WEATHER IS DRIVING ME NUTSSSSSSSSS. ITS EATHER 20 DEG. AND RAINING OR 75DEG. AND THE FLOOR IS SWEATING.............. WE DID MANAGE THE 1st COAT OF SEALER YESTERDAY AFTERNOON

Hopefully you will see it by the end of March. we are back on track three different contractors are working on it today. HVAC, Electrical & Plumbing. If the rain holds out by Friday farming the lean to for the west side of the building should take place and we can get out of the MUD.

We had a pretty good day,the heating and air started. The electrical Panel and some wire installed and some plumbing.
