Not sure if this pair of Easco ratchets really qualifies to be in the 'vintage' tool forum, but they are some nice ratchets. I'm looking for a 1/4" drive version to round out the set.

Everybody seems to enjoy the Craftsman Butterfly ratchets, right? Here's a trio that I've pieced together from the flea market. The selector on the 1/2" and the 1/4" seem to have lost their chrome finish.

^ defying all explanation, both Duro and Indestro used the same part number on different models of ratchets. you've got two 4487 Duro Chrome ratchets in the fourth photo, one is 1/4" drive and one is 3/8" drive.

(Indestro did the same with the 2888 and 2889 models - looks like you've got a couple of them in the sixth photo - with the oval handles. Are those fixed male or female drives on those two?)

Those are both 3/8" female drives with plugs in place. I posted them earlier on the Duro/Indestro thread.

Here is my Bonney R701 3/4 ratchet, actually the only Bonney ratchet I own. It's kinda weird because it looks like an SK on steroids and has a detachable handle.

davethorik- I want to show the similarity of this Crescent 3/4 ratchet to your Bonney. Different snap ring of course, but you'll see in my next post something else.

Crescent Life-Time 3/4" Drive LS70, 20" Long and they came with a rubber grip.

Patent No. 2982161, belonging to Crescent Niagara Corp.

Very interesting 3bay!

Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk

Agreed. Did Crescent ever make their own rats or were they always contracted out? Those 1/2 dr of 3bay's kinda look like SK except for the snap ring differences. And that 3/4 does look similar to my Bonney.

Some Crescent ratchets are clearly the older different style round head Wright or an easily recognizable New Britain. These :dunno:, not sure if they just look similar to S-K and Bonney or what.

Added a few ratchets to the box over the weekend.
Old Hinsdale H-1 (pat. pend.) and a pair of SK ratchets. The 1/4" drive probably isn't old enough to be in this thread, but in my experience, the SK-Wayne ratchets don't show up too often. Both are in fantastic shape.

I did find a few other ratchets over the weekend as well.

Nice Bonney sweetheart! I really like those ratchets, very smooth action and the handles are comfy.

Thanks Sam! It's the first one I've come across. I was surprised by the smooth action. Really nice. But, sealed/non-servicable, right? I just sprayed a ton of PB Blaster into it. :dunno:

Unfortunately, the handle has a bit of chrome loss and box rot. At least it still works well.

AFAIK they are unserviceable, which is the only reason I have not made mine a daily user. I don't believe they are very common outside of eBay. The only one I have seen in the wild is the one I own.

Those seem to be very rare. I have never seen many. Very nice find! congrats!
I picked one of them up last year at flea in the $3 bin. I couldn't believe I found one in the wild.8e95dd352dfc5a77030cf53ee5bc8021.jpg

Who picked up the hindsdale on the bay? The one similar to the rare Craftsman. If so post up some pics.

More Pawn Shop finds. My favorite is the "Frankenstein". It was in a "clearance" bin for $4.50.

That Walden flex head is beyond cool, not sure I have seen one before. The Walden refrigeration ratchet is unique, I didn't realize they offered one.

Picked up this ratchet at a flea market today. Haven't been able to find the company that made it anywhere. The company name stamped on it is Pfnfns Corporation USA.
Anyone know anything about it?

Thanks Twertsy, yep, that's what it is. It's a Penens R-10 1/2in ratchet. Going by the way it was stamped, I would never have found it.
