What a great thread this is. I love to repurpose anything. I just built a pole barn garage and am in the beginning stages of it. So far I have only repurposed a few things that I have done recently. I hope to be doing a lot more now that I finally have a shop to work in.

A bathroom cabinet take out and fence boards I had laying around into a nice bench.

And the leftover lumber from my garage build into some nice work benches.

Repurposed Bisley(or clones) 6-drawer small cabinets, usually held quires of paper in offices. They're not BB drawers, but well made and slide easily. Drawers are 3" high, 11" wide and 16" deep, so provide a decent amount of storage area to augment my toolbox.
At the moment they're taking the overflow of various spanners, and I think I'll have all my socketry in the main box. I'm keeping my eye open for more of these to pop up on Craigslist / Freecycle (these were free and the pair of them fitted on the back of the Suzuki).
It's surprising to see how large they are compared to the OE toolbox - lots of space I'll soon run out of, probably :)

Oh man I am not sure how i have not had an extra minute to post on here? my whole shop is built with recycled material! just about every piece of equipment, benches, cabinets were designed for something else at on time or another. here is on of my purpose built benches. materials used an old door,a couple lab bench legs, some desk drawers, recycled casters, couple pieces of plexi glass.couple of old file cabinets.

I found an old set of kitchen cabinets that fit perfectly into my shop.

The work bench I the last photo is made in part from shipping crate material.

A telescoping lift arm transformed into an oil filter crusher. Goes in my shop press and crushes filters no problem. Going to get another press to put this in and dedicate it to crushing filters

I found the build thread on here and bumped it a couple days ago. I believe he got most of it for free and some cheap on C/L.

I picked the gear up at small auction. Set me back I think $100.
The wife thought I was crazy when I got it.

She has had the lady's she works with over for party's and they all want it.
A few of them want it real bad. And made some big cash offers.

Our living room is often used as back drops for family photos.
And some times I don't even know the people.

Everybody tells us it looks like the inside of a Cracker Barrel

If I could get the pics to show up bigger id show off more of the stuff
If anybody would want to see it.

Thanks
Johnny

Camshaft lamps with thw gear as the base, but you need the oil through hole

An old 1 3/4" exterior door re-purposed as a new desk in my kids room. Made the legs from 1/4 cold rolled steel round stock. They are copied from a picture off the net that my son found and very sturdy surprisingly enough.

Wow, some of you guys are really creative. Some excellent stuff posted...

I'm not as fancy as many of you guys. Here's a shop decoration I made from a junk tailgate.

I had a buddy to the paint work.

I liked that tailgate up until I read the fine print, ford sux :lol_hitti

Haha... There are actually a few old Chevies that I'd own (55 Chevy, 62-64 Impala, another early 70s Nova, and of course a few different trucks) but my hot rods are Fords... this was just more of something fun. I've already ruffled a few feathers posting it on a local forum. :D

 my friend calls me a car nazi, I was born with gm blood in my veins. There are a couple fords I like, first being the early 30's trucks and I like the fox body mustangs but I'd have to have 20 or more Chevys in my driveway first :p

Good thinking on that repurpose job and great job your friend did lettering it!

The ottoman I made from pallets.

the table is an old wire spool, with a foot rest made of pallets, and lazy susan on top from pallets, covered with beer bottle caps. Makes a great drinking table.
