It's looking like a great space to work in; those skylights will really add to the 'warmth' of the building.

Any idea of how you are going to attach the shed roof(s)? Will their ledger boards be just beneath the loft windows to get maximum pitch?

Yes, we set the ledger boards 24" below the window. This will allow a 4/12 pitch for the lean-to steel roof.

They will be installed after the tax appraiser visits.

The siding has been ordered and I'm still waiting on the door delivery.

Electric is next.

Thanks for the kind comments.

Regards,

.

Cedar facade and most steel siding have been installed. The trailer pad side is done, the guys will be back next week to finish up.

Still waiting on the garage door hi-rise hardware, it has been almost three weeks.

The rain gutters are scheduled for this week as well.

I'm hope to have the inspector come this week to sign off on the frame. Hope my handrail will pass -

It will be good to stop paying for off-site storage!

Regards,

.

Yea! finally the garage doors arrived....

I opted for the hi-rise and the special hardware took almost a month (or so I was told).

Shell is done.

Only outside pics tonight but some inside will come in the next few days.

The shot from the main garage in the first posts shows how far we have come.

Most of you will think I'm crazy but I'm a furniture/antique guy and I couldn't stand the sight of the chip-core/Advantech floor upstairs, it was driving me nuts, so I had 20 sheets of 3/8" AC sent to cover the floor. Also added a second storage shelf along the full length.

More pics to come.

Regards,

.

Here is what it looks like inside w/ all the doors closed. The skylights do exactly what I wanted them to. Eventually I'll box them off.

Then the second floor w/ shelves on both sides and the AC plywood on top of the Advantech floor.

Regards,

.

Looking great! Any plans to put a fine French finish on all that plywood? lol

This pic is after the second coat of poly - third went on tonight. It takes less than an hour to lay coat down.

It is starting to look like glass. . . while that was not my intention, it is easy to do and since it is a garage I don't really care so much if some dirt/bugs get in it.

The coupe likes her new home!

The building inspector signed off today . . YEA!

He did tell me he wants a guard on the stairs and might pay me a visit sometime to see if I did install one. 

No electric for now, I’ll just use an extension cord for the battery tenders as they don’t draw much amperage. In the winter I’m not going to plow for it as it is really just for storage.

I do need to work on an asphalt apron in front, that will be my next project.

Inside ceiling height is 11’3” and those are high-rise doors. The man door is 42” so I can get a dirt bike in and out w/o opening the overhead doors. The side picture makes it look small due to the larger door.

There is a layer of AC plywood on top of the Advantech substrate upstairs w/ three coats of poly.

Floor load is rated for 40lbs/ sq ft. I do plan on putting a couple of dirt bikes up there, they are light enough to push up the stairs on a ramp.

Thanks for looking!

Regards,

Al

Looks great! You got a lot further than I did in your year.

Thank you sir. Now I just need to find a nice lt blue '69 GP!

Just like you I'm still waiting on the assessor before finishing.

Still have the lean-tos, wiring, insulation and drywall.

Happy New Year!

Here you go - I know the seller and the car - you won't find a nicer one for the price!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pontiac-Gra...ace091a21&item=321284282913&pt=US_Cars_Trucks

Thank you! That brought back a lot of fond memories of the back seat :). Mine had the same color interior, was a Model J w/ the flat wheel covers.

It was this color scheme below.

One like this is what it would take for me to spring these days. I have five cars now.

Best Regards, and Happy New Year!

Figured I'd throw in an updated pic.

Nothing doing on the inside yet, still just 2x6 studs.

Did add a new car though.
