Thanks for sharing. Reminds me of my grandfather's barn we used to play in when I was younger...great memories.

Any chance of seeing the house floor plans with the addition? Kinda interested in how you've got things laid out.

I must give a shout out to Ryan.. I just realized I was on the home page... very humbling after all the incredible builds that are far beyond this one, that truly inspired me to build my dream garage.. Tho I know it's the enjoyment I get from just messing around with projects from tinkering on my bike, to creating really fancy firewood, is what we all live for. Whether its pulling the tools out of an over crowded one car garage to a fancy barn, it's just the sense of satisfaction creating, working on and fixing that I believe that what we all enjoy the most.

I know my limited talents will never do it justice, and there are so many really talented individuals here that can fix, weld, design, create and dream far beyond what I could ever accomplish. :bow:

I'm just glad to share my vision of nirvana. I can only hope that when I'm gone, there will be someone else that will love and enjoy this space as much as I do.

Okay, this is officially one fantastic project.

The barn captured my interest because you have the RV garage and work shop incorporated into the same foot print. Your use of the Ship Lab siding and Timber Frame construction just adds to the rustic mastique of the design.:pimpflash

I really must congratulate you and your bride for all the great touches you have included. If Jealousy is color, I'm a box of crayons at this point. :beer:

Incredible! A really well-executed plan. Having lived through a couple of major remodels, I know that doing the house and garage simultaneously was really f'n brave!... ;)

Congrats on the front page mention. Just crawled through all 5 pages and didn't realize how much I had been drooling until the end haha. Looks great. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see updates on the benches, work areas, and final stages of the build!!!

I haven't seen the black walnut bar top finished yet. If you have yet to do so, the product you want to use to make it pop is from http://www.bestbartopepoxy.com/ Just a friendly tip.
My wife and I used it for a small coffee table and it came out awesome. Once I find a nice slab I am going to use it again. Great progress on both projects.

Beautiful build! As I am in the process of planning a build myself I have a question. It doesn't appear that your foundation wall is tied to the footer or re-enforced with any rebar? Issue? Non-issue? Perhaps it was placed in the forms after your pics were taken?

Fantastic build. It looks very well thought out and practical. You are right on with the barn colors.

What size is the TV? 80" , or bigger?

Why did it take the installers 6 hours to to the tv and speakers?

Thanks again for all the words.. its definitely encouragement to keep trucking.. As I've mentioned, my wife and I are just tired of dealing with construction and we're looking forward to just being settled in and enjoy our home.

PugetDude.. I think F'ing Stupid is the words I would use now..LOL.. We really didn't have a clue before we started how invasive this was going to be to our everyday lives.. :willy_nil

Capegls.. Thanks for the link.. I love the look that leaves on the wood..I've showed it to my builder as the bar top is still getting shaped and not in finishing stage yet.

sean844.... I don't believe there was a rebar connection from the footing to the walls, and not sure of the significance of that. Possibly because it was back filled completely, and no cellar, there wasn't a requirement for it.

Audicon.. It's the Sharp 90".. looks freakin' awesome!! They had to mount everything to the walls and ceiling, including the Bose surround sound. The wires were run in the ceiling, but that was it. They also got the entertainment center loaded with the blue ray, xbox,wii and PS4, connected and using the one remote control. Then calibrated and tested everything. I payed a flat rate so I didn't care how long it took. They were there until 6:30 on a friday night still smiling.. they rocked!!

Notgrownup.. Thanks, motorcycles were some of my first passions.. My first was a Honda Ct90 when I was 10. I love to ride, and touring is something I really enjoy, to get away and clear the head works wonders for me.. I'll do 800-1000 miles a day when I'm solo..

There is still a little work left on the barn and inside the house. They've started siding the house, and the masons show up next Monday.

The backyard is a mess as we've torn up all the Stamped concrete that was all around the house and pool when we moved in. It looks good, unfortunately it's slippery as Hell when wet, and it was an accident waiting to happen.

Started here..





Now this started..







Added another shed for the pool toys and winter storage for the furniture..



After we moved in, we added the hot tub and pad.. Not knowing better, we tried to match what we had.. Thought maybe we could save it..



nope.. wasn't going match the new so it had to go..



Ended up have about 8 trees taken down coming up the driveway that were either diseased, broken or in the way.. There was one beauty right on the edge by the house that my wife and I both tagged...:lol_hitti

A half hour after the tree guys left, a new one showed up.. :eye crazy:



A real pretty one.. a Sugar maple for in front of the Barn..what.. I love picking up leaves in the fall..LOL





Last week pallets of materials started to show up for the walls and walkways..







There is a huge push right now to get everything down in the next couple of weeks before winter hits.. I'm starting to panic a bit to be honest..:(

The new pool liner is in, along with moving the skimmers to the side where all the leaves collect, I've replaced the pump and filter, and added for a new diving board and slide.



The water truck had to run 1000 ft of hose to reach from the road to the pool..





Those are 10 new Hemlocks to help hide the neighbors, they're great, but I did remove the woods separating us, so I thought I'd try to replace some.. besides, I don't really want to see them either..lol!!

This week should be pretty busy with them starting the walls and decking in the pool area. I'll post more next week..

Wow, lots of work happening on that house. It'll all be brand new when you're done. The next owners will be grateful! haha

Well I dont o 1000 mile days but I will muster up 600-700... I just turned 88000 on my 07 Electra Glide, FriendFeed mine just traded his 04 GL1800 with 300000 miles on it....My bike is my Prozak...lol....

Well it's been about a month now, and we're making progress. Unfortunately not as much as we'd like..LOL!! The weather has just been fighting us for the entire project, so why should I expect now it would be any different?:dunno:

The House is getting there.. The siding started a few weeks ago. We're thrilled with the color.





the color in the pic is off in this one..



the front doors went in..



The three season porch on the side is going to be a great space..




at least the inside is now finished.. The Great Room has really come together..



We love the bar!







This is an island over by the pool table.





My wife kick *** Karaoke stage with stage lighting I can control with my iPhone.. and no-o I don't partake, I'm the stage manager..LOL



The Theatre seats.



To watch movies on.. It looks spectacular!



And the pool table.



Thats my wives signed Nicky Sixx guitar in the corner..



And the upstairs loft with is a home office and gym. Don't mind the mess as we're unpacking still.





Over all, we're very happy with the results.. Outside and Barn to follow..

Thank you Ron, I'll only have a social drink on occasion but thought the room really needed one. The refer holds soda and water..LOL!! It truly ties it all in as a focal piece of the room. I'll pass on the compliment to Peter, my builder. He'll be thrilled. He and his crew worked for weeks on it.

The Backyard has been slow. It's turned cold, we've had snow, and now a deluge of rain.. We're pretty much at a stand still until spring.. Tho some of the walls are up..





The hot Tub pad is down and it's finally got water back in it. It took a few weeks longer than I hoped, and it sat thru a cold snap without electricity. I was really afraid of busted pipes.. thankfully its fine. Feels good on my old bones too!







The pool got the new deck with brownstone edging. We love the color the new liner give the water. Not for everyone, but we like it.













And the kitchen is in..











There is still a boatload of landscaping to do around the house, and we really hate that its not done. Everyone is promising to be done by Memorial day.. we'll see..:dunno:
