It is already 40 and sunny, my back and my arm are a bit sore, but no where near what I expected. I am going to load up some stuff at the Hill, then go to the SG and try and get some stuff done. The plan is to move everything that I can with Clark, then bring him back to the Hill so I can move more stuff there. This is going to be a marathon week with lots of after dark work too. I am going to get ready for the snow, one way or another.

Once again I have been out fumbled, the booster pack (12/24 volt and my only one) is over at the SG right now and I am at the Hill with a 5 ton Army dump that won't start (24 volt), I may be able to jump start it from the Mitsu, but I am not sure the cables I have will reach. Anyways, I ordered another jump pack to leave at the SG, but now I am thinking that I am buying one more, then I have one at each location and the one I usually keep in the Burb. This has messed me up on more than one occasion and recently too. In the end spending the money will be worth it just to avoid these situations, without the dump truck, I can't even do what I needed to do and that is frustrating. At this point if the jumper cables won't reach, then I will take a few things over to the SG that needed to go there anyways and then I can bring the booster pack back. All I really needed to do at the SG is unload the track crane and move a few things around, so it isn't a big deal, but it is annoying I will be wasting an hour plus of daylight to go and get something. 
It wasn’t very warm in the shade, the wind cut through you and felt nasty. Got the track crane unloaded, then unloaded the generator from the F-350, figured out my plan of attack for the rest of the week, I also have the booster pack with me now, should open up a world of possibilities.

We just dodged a bullet on that one. Only went out for 30 secs, there is a huge swath 1 mile east of us from I94 up to Eaton rapids all out of power. Did you get yours back yet?

Do you have too many truck at the SG, or just too many in general? I know the answer to that question is very hard to answer, says the man who has 9 vehicles, of which 7 are driven regularly.
Right now I have extra vehicles here (at the SG) that would not normally be here, but in general, wherever I am, I have too many vehicles.....
I am making progress, but it is like the game "parking lot", things need to be moved multiple times in order to get things to where they need to be. Biggest issue I have is that I don't have a good place to put the small stuff right this minute, I sold that flatbed gooseneck trailer and it was loaded with stuff that is now on the ground. I wanted to build the pallet racking to put all the loose stuff on it, but right now getting the trailers and non running trucks put away is far more important in the overall process. I forgot to bring the drone over to take some before pictures, but I will bring it tomorrow and at least get some "in progress" pics.

I can just see this stacked in the corner of the cleaned up lot..... you'll then move it ten times before sending it to auction.......
Looks to be a nice idea for an industry that has a lot of material or tooling buffering needs.
For you, I see this as another project that will take away from truck time.... But hey, It's Monday, hence my mood.

It looks cool, but im thinking more for a production house. And it just saves not having a forklift in that space right? I'd think a little electric and plain pallet racking is more configurable. Just an opinion... i know i get crazy ideas too.

The price is right, so I will buy it and sort it out later. I can use just the pallet racking and it is worth the asking price for that. There are over a hundred "shelves" each shelf acts as its own pallet and it can be adjusted easy enough based on the space you need. It is something like 3 3/4" centers, so you can really squeeze things in. The SG is getting a makeover soon and this would be a nice addition, it is the right height as well. I have had to cut down every other rack that I bought so it would fit my ceiling height. I currently use the stack rack, but that isn't the best for adjustability, you have to permanently cut the vertical braces if you want to change the space between shelves.
What I really like is that it can be configured in a lot of ways, I could see incorporating one side as my Lista wall, then having the other side be racking, this would open up my "stock room" to becoming a much more versatile space.

i didn't think about the machine access. Could work out great with heavy tooling like chucks and whatnot. Lots of machine shops have jibs for every machine. Not sure what you have planned.
It would be a stockroom with a bridge crane, you really can’t beat that? I think it will be worth getting it, long term my setup was going to cost much more, this will add another dimension to the stock room that I had never thought about before. There will be plenty of extra shelving that can be used elsewhere too, so it is a win win in my book.
Been shuffling things around, I forgot how nice it is to be able to move stuff out through the muddy areas with ease, CLARK IS GREAT.
The new gravel is awesome too, I can get things behind the shop with Guido no problem now. I have not figured out how I will be storing Guido yet, I really don’t want it inside, takes up way too much room, I might try and make a covered area for it on the backside of the shop, we will see, I know I am going to run out of time, it always seems to happen like this. This year I was on track too, stupid COVID. Oh well, at least I survived.

Assemble them next to the SG and skin them with metal siding. New storage buildingI may be buying some Vidmar stuff, but no drawers, just shelves.........
I thought about doing something like that HJ, but I do think that I can make it work in conjunction with the Lista wall when I reconfigure the stockroom at the SG. Everything has been moving like molasses this year, more so than other years, I also am having a crazy thought, very crazy.
Since I have only cut up one of the Lista storage wall uprights, I could actually use them over at the SG without cutting them and essentially make what I want to make now, like this winter. I would still have some of the storage wall components that would be used at the hill, just not as much stuff. This might be a bad idea, but it is definitely an idea, I would need to order some more Lista parts to complete things, but it could be done for sure.

Candidly, Strouty does get a lot done, but I think a couple less projects and a skosh more attention, and we would see some pretty neat stuff. Just when there is starting to be forward momentum, then another deal of the day comes along. Not looking for perfection, just need to focus long enough on one project to get it to the point of working. I was happy to see Perk was working until it got smucked.....I know it wasn't exactly his vision, but at least it was working and adding value to his projects.

Today should be a good one, yesterday revealed a bit of a plan. I needed some pallets, drove through the local industrial area on the way home last night and found a nice pile. I am going to grab the drone today, and my little air compressor for the flat tires, I loaded the fork extensions for Clark too.
The Stak system is cheap, it is going to take two trucks and trailers and about 14 hours to get it.
As for parts, I would use it for steering boxes, engines, transmissions, and other heavy things that I have scattered around. Stuff that really shouldn’t be stored in a trailer or conex. I feel that it could be a very easy way to add a ton of storage space inside without taking up too much floor space.

Everything is taking much longer than I would like, with two people it would probably only take 1/3 of the time, moving vehicles in between moving other vehicles slows things down. My plan is starting to shape up, I know I won't have things exactly the way I would like, but at least the snow will be manageable and I should still be able to get to most things. Unfortunately I do need to put the non running burbs way out back, so they may be stuck there all winter, or I could leave them out front, I will need to plow around them. At least that way I could bring them inside as I am ready to start dismantling them, who am I kidding, I don't have time this winter, I have an office, another shop, and another house to work on, out back they go........
