I decided to stick the compressor and air dryer under the racking, I won’t be messing with it for a bit, most likely going to be sold, looks like a funky flange mounted motor, 460 volt 3 phase, doesn’t seem to be a dual voltage either. The air dryer is single phase, so it will be useful, pretty sure I am going to use one of the rotary screw compressors I bought a couple years ago, with the future addition of the plasma table, bigger sandblast cabinet, and possible paint booth, having nice dry air is important.

I do think I would have been better off not taking the compressor, but I am sure it will sell at some point for some dollar amount. I need to get it listed, just wanted to figure out if I could replace the motor with something 240 volt and actually use it. It has low hours for a rotary screw, I think it was under 11k. I just haven’t had the spare time, at least now it is out of the way.

I just got to the tower site, uneventful drive, other than remembering how much of a hot rod Bev is, very fun to drive. I really need to get Bev usable again, 13.5 MPG around town. With all the tools in the back total weight was about 13k, when I get done it will be less than that. One more of the many projects. ;)

I got the other water tote out, it was put way in the back for storage, so I had to move a few extra things. This one is plumbed for the water pump hookup, so it should make things easier. I am about out of steam, running on hate and contempt now. ;)

Hate and contempt were most of what I had for years. Then I retired, to a land where there are lovely cuddly puppies, a pool, and plenty of projects of my choosing.

That sounds nice, someday, just not this someday.

I have a couple errands to do, then I am going to the Hill to unload the Muv-All and free up Perk. I still would like to get over to the Conex and do a test lift, but need to get my grass seed and hay spread first, that is the most important thing.

Almost done dinking around so I can start my actual day. Not that I wasn’t doing things, just not the most important things. I am thinking I need about 5 hours to get the rest of the seed spread, then the hay, then water everything. We will see how long it takes. I do have about two hours tomorrow before the town people show up for the inspection, but I would rather be done today.

Been a slow start, I am back at the Salvage Garage got to give Bev a shakedown before I get everything loaded up, need to get fuel anyways. Guess I will be working tomorrow too, what’s new? ;)

I got to setup one of my collapsible cage crate thingies, they are pretty nice, should be a great thing to have for all the various things I have, mostly be more for temporary storage, like grouping project parts together. I really like the way they fold up and they stack both open and closed.

I don't see those too often here and they can bring a good price when they do show up. I seen some plastic fold down bins on a sell last week that looked questionable on condition.

I have some plastic ones, but they all have something broken, the metal ones are really nice. I have other larger stackable units but nothing as easy as these. Eventually I will have all my pallet racking setup and then I can use all my cool things.

An extra 10 minutes to get a bird out of the Quonset hut, would have left the door open, but the bird was turning all the motion sensing lights on.

Also, Chuck is lucky, I have not seen any of his family, even the turkeys are gone, but I have seen a coyote.

2.5 hours in, even my overestimate was low. It doesn’t help that the black flies are thick. Between the hay and the flies, now I know what a barnyard animal feels like.

I am almost out of hay and I may need more, depends on how picky the inspection gets, last time they didn’t really care about the area down where the old tower was. I am leaving that for last, it will get a thin layer of hay, at least on the areas visible from above.

Made it home so I can do a quick bit of grilling, then back to the Hill, I am clearly not going to get to the Conex today, would be good if I can at least unload the trailer. Tomorrow morning is all messed up, PT and then the actual Doctor for the elbow, hopefully we will at least move in to the next step. I don’t really even have enough time to get hay before the inspection, but they were already going to hold back some of the escrow account until the grass has grown in, so this should not effect things much at all.

Are you really using hay, or is hay just the generic term for straw and hay in your neck of the woods? If you're using hay, is straw not available in your area?

Hay is much cheaper around here. Straw not nearly as easy to get and much more expensive.
Not much wheat or oats grown in the northeast, I take it.
Way to start off the morning, wrong appointment time, I am 30 minutes early. :(
You're making me feel good. Even when I put it in my phone, I get the times wrong sometimes.

This one was more a function of lack of sleep, went to be about midnight and got up at 5:30, even my eyes are fuzzy this morning. I am done with PT, now waiting for the Doctor. Then I plan on trying to water the grass seed. I will be curious to see how far the water goes, I have about 600 gallons, might need some more tanks.

Doctor gave me a cortisone injection and is going to find someone that does the Tenex procedure, he felt that since I had good results from the left arm, it would be a good chance it would be the same for the right arm.

I am at the Salvage Garage dropping off some things, then headed to the tower site for the inspection. Most likely won’t be doing much today, elbow is a bit sore and starting to stiffen up a bit.

Also, got the auction results, ended up clearing just over $7k, so in the end I feel fine with what things sold for. Still would have been better if the forklift was not sabotaged.

I need to make up a priority list for the week, should be able to do that easy enough.
Rather than making a super long list that then turns overwhelming, focus on either top 3 or top 5 items to get done. I know you have a huge list of things you'd like to do, but those aren't all top priority items. Office is likely top of the list, what is remaining to be "good enough" to call done? Again, it doesn't have to be perfect, just good enough that it keeps your dad happy. Functioning internet, printer/copier available, and working computers. Did you get the big copier moved up there or not? If not, does a cheap printer/copier from big box stores check the box for the short term for good enough?

Good luck for the week!

The office is so far down the list right now, I have to deal with grass and an elbow.

We passed final inspection, they will hold $2k until we get the grass really growing. I am going to have to water things every day for the next week, there is hardly even a chance of rain for the next ten days.

Bev is back to being a water delivery truck.

B3ADE571-0CB9-4763-95D0-26400F764444.jpeg

Looks like 300 gallons will do one watering. I am going to see what size tanks are available, would be nice to have a bit more breathing room. I really need to build my portable water setup, now is not the time, but since when has that ever stopped me?

I talked with the auctioneer and he told me that next time I am allowed to withdraw any item until they start actual bidding. He was a but concerned to hear about what happened, but there is nothing that really can be done about it. He also said I was perfectly fine to attach the key with a cable next time so it won’t be as easy to “lose” the key.

Will Bev hold two of those containers side by side or front to back?

Ron
Unfortunately not, side to side the bed is tilted funny, so they wouldn’t sit properly and there is not enough length for sure. I am buying a new tank, it is a vertical tank that holds 405 gallons, that gives me more capacity than I need and it will work with my plans to make the package fit the little dump trailer.

Ron, I guess technically I can fit two tanks but tying them down would be a real hassle, Bev wasn’t designed to haul much on the bed. I plan on removing the rear box and using it as a job site box, just need to find the time…

Unless the auctioneer takes possession of any keys and witnesses/confirms machines are runners in listings this sort of thing will always happen.

Northern Maine grows both, rotation crops for the money makers, taters. Still much more expensive and I doubt Strouty cares about weeds that will come in the hay ;)

Weeds are green, that is all I care about.

I have been researching skid water tank setups, still trying to figure out the best route, most use gasoline engine pumps, I would like to use my pressure washer for the system, but have no idea how it if you could make the water less powerful for a garden hose.

I went to bed at a reasonable time and slept in. The arm feels much better today, after the shot it hurt pretty much all day. I had to stop and buy a bag of ice to help make it through the last few hours.

I am going to do a few things at the Hill this morning, then go to the tower site and try to finish things up, then water everything.

Ball valve with a bypass line to control the pressure, simple to set up.

I am not sure on just bypassing the flow, the pump is a 3500 PSI at 3.5 GPM, most of the pumps for sprayer systems (that still use a bypass) are 6 to 20 GPM, but from 60 to 300 PSI. 3500 PSI is still 3500 PSI.

The camps need some cleanup, but we have a year round renter now, so no summer rental drama. I am sure there will be dog drama though, but we won’t find out until my Stepmother starts yelling. ;)

What’s the problem with actually using a regular pump instead of the power washer?

Wouldn’t it make things a lot easier? I know that’s not something you like to do. :lol_hitti
