I love the worm hole idea. Are you going to add that to your list, 86turbo dsl's or mine? Though I think Kay would probably have the best chance at success on this one. Speaking of 86td, has anyone heard from him? I keep threatening to try to get caught on this thread, but it's a big un.
I'm alive i swear.... just crazy busy.

Someone needs to create a GJ wormhole so we can all help each other without having to travel, that would be nice.

I am working on the latest computer, need to start updating software and syncing data, but I think I screwed things up by installing the POE filter on the coax. There was a ground and what looked like a filter already installed, but I could not confirm if it was the proper filter, but now that the new one is inline, my downloads are fluctuating from 5 to 10 Mbps, strangely, the uploads are still in the 15 to 20 Mbps range. I will uninstall it and see if things change, hopefully that will be my issue.

I brought an older printer upstairs, I ordered pieces and parts that I needed to complete a cabinet for office supplies, next week may be one of those weeks where I ignore everyone, not sure if I will be able to get everything done without being that drastic.
That is a worthwhile idea and I am sure there is some quantum physics/mechanics/Jedi master/NASA guy here that can work it out. I am about as far south in this country as you can get, especially compared to you on the northern tier....

The local fiber is really reasonably priced, if you want a gig it is $79 a month, sure to go up, but I am looking at upload speeds more than download. I can get 50/50 for $36 a month and it is not a shared line, so it acts more like a T1.

It is supposed to rain tomorrow, so I am back at the tower site, going to spread the rest of the seed and hay. Where I watered things, there is grass growing, so it won’t take much. I can also see that I need to get some weed killer and start spraying the rip rap, things are growing rapidly and that is without water. :(

My elbow is sore and I just hope I don’t end up with more itchy stuff. I hope to have this done early enough to actually get some of the other things done, but this is pretty important, especially since I will get free labor to water everything. ;)

For not having rain for a couple weeks, the water table at the Salvage Garage is still high, the back area was still soft even walking on it. I had to drop off a couple things and figured I would pull the HD series dump truck around and get the batteries topped off. I am now headed off to get some lunch for me and Chuck, they will be vastly different meals though.

I did two things today, preordered the fiber lines for both the Hill and my house, then I setup the Conex move, I really can’t believe how inexpensive the guys are, they told me $187.50, I countered with $250, but they sent over the quote for $187.50. I definitely can’t do it for that price, now I have to get it up on blocks before next Friday. Plan is to do that tomorrow, probably get the diesel generator out from between the buildings at the other tower site as well. I have help and I think it is a good idea to do both things when I have help.

Is fidium going nuts down your way also? There are fiber trucks all over the place up here. We got cable four or five years so not sure if fiber will come here or not? Hope so, I just got rid of cable tv, don’t miss it at all. Love to have two gig fiber into the house.

Yup, they started down in the Biddeford area, I got it at my shop last fall, love it. They say Portland is a couple weeks away from scheduling. Not sure about the Hill, but they ran the cable a month or so ago.

After all the BS with the P15 screws, Apple actually shipped the case as a totally different unit, it has no hinge mechanism at all, so I can’t even install the base plate without dismantling the entire computer, then installing a hinge, then putting everything back together. I remember when I ordered this computer, they had told me there was no adapter to make them into a VESA mount, so I ordered this one, it cost extra too. Well, now I either need to swap the other computer out so it has a baseplate and this one will mount back to the arm or I wait until next week when the new arm is delivered. I am not thrilled about either thing at this point. The other thing I could do, would be to open another one of the wall mount units and just set the computer up in the old office at the house as a temporary fix for my always seems to be, permanent problem. I am exhausted at this point, almost more so mentally than physically. Going to unload a few things from the Burb, they get ready for tomorrow and see how I feel. I am guessing it will be a cross between mildly infuriated and exhausted.

Hearing the latest saga with the mounts and computers is disheartening to listen too, so I can't imagine how you feel. With as much on your plate as you have, I'd suggest you find the quickest, easiest way out, even if it means shelling out money.

I ordered the mounts that I need, but they won’t be here until Tuesday, I am going to setup the old. Computer in the old office using a wall mount, in reality it is the quickest way to get this done. I thought about just trying to prop up the iMac, but I know how that will end.

Priority list for today:

#1. Conex lifted and blocking under it

#2. Ramp truck wheels installed

#3. Generator extrication

#4. To be determined

Great news! I figured out why the internet wasn’t working, apparently I had too many yellow cables…

I had the modem hooked into the hub not the router, so only the first thing was getting an IP Address, once I swapped the two yellow cables everything works now. Thank you Tom Cruise. ;)

So one of my biggest annoyances is now behind me. On top of that, we have the generator out and back to the Hill, the ramp truck is back together and we are about to clear space for the Conex. If the weather holds we are going to look at the trailer brakes on the long tilt deck and then get to work on some inside stuff.

We are jacking up the trailer now, actually cleaned off the slab first, no need to kneel on those tiny rocks. Chuck has been supervising what we are doing from his office. We still have a couple hours before the rain hits, so we are trying to get outside stuff done first, then we can work on inside stuff. I am watching what I do, I don’t want to overdo the elbow, it is ok so far, but I suspect it will get pushed just so I don’t interrupt production. I have to think long term, think about tomorrow, and next week.

Trailer had captured hubs, so it wasn’t something to tackle with the rain headed in. It is up on jack stands with the tires off, so one step ahead for the next time. We also pulled off the fifth wheel adapter, going to order a gooseneck setup and wanted to see how stuck the fifth wheel setup was, turns out it wasn’t that bad at all. I wanted to order the new one, but most have a safety pin, contemplating adding one, so I am waiting for a bit before ordering.

Decided to rework the seat for the Mitsu, didn’t get to do the final installation since it was pouring out. When done, it will have a Burb captain’s seat. While my buddy was doing the fabrication, I worked on cleaning up the tools and supplies, made a big dent.

Plenty to still get done, but the more pieces of the puzzle that get used, the better the overall picture looks. I have to do a bunch of things with the ramp truck before Dad finds a use for it, or an excuse for me not to use it.

Mission creep, been working on computer software updates and extending my WiFi network, now that I have things figured out, it will be much easier to make this happen. I am about to go try and install the seat in the Mitsu, might be tough by myself, it barely fits through the door.

Everything creep, nothing done from my list, but a bunch of other things got done, definitely need to work on staying on task for the next couple weeks. It is really tough when everywhere I look, there is another project or piece of the puzzle. I am trying to organize things as I go, but I do not really have enough space yet to handle a deep dive into this. I am working on cleaning up the house at the Hill and I am gaining, there is a lot more space than there was earlier today. I guess I have to consider the small victories, if I can even call them that.

Stupid internet, Spectrum *****, I can’t wait for the fiber. I have been chasing issues all afternoon and none of it was my fault. The internet would cut out for 10 seconds, then come back for 20 minutes, then go out for 3 minutes, then come back for an hour, then go out for a minute, then come back on for 5, rinse and repeat. We just setup my old modem and it worked perfectly for 5 minutes, now it is off again. Originally I thought it was a setup issue on my end, nope, just Spectrum’s BS network. :(

Rant probably not over.

Now everything is working perfectly, I still have an appointment for a tech tomorrow afternoon, hopefully they can figure things out and at least get my speed back. My temporary modem only does 30 MBPS down and 6 up, I had 580 down and 25 up earlier today on the proper modem. All the pretty green lights, I need two more routers to really cover things, then I am going to work on shooting internet to three of the semi local towers, I know I have line of sight, so should be doable.

I was moving some of the really old computers and one of them had the remnants of the arm mount on it, sure enough, I found the rest of it and it is the right one, wish I had seen that a couple days ago. I am going to use it for the not as old, old computer, so I can start getting things transferred over. The other arms should be here tomorrow, having an extra day is still an extra day. As for the new arms, they are actually a different color, so they won't be redundant, I would have bought them anyways.

I think I may have found the files I needed, they were hidden in plain sight, my Dad's previous secretary was a frugal woman, so she reused folders. Basically the way they were leaning, all I could see was what was written on the backside and I thought that was the contents, I just happened to move them and see the other side. Go figure, I have probably quickly looked at those a few times now. :(

I found almost all the info I need for the tower, I have to scan some documents, make a few copies for the field, then go and take a bunch of pictures and measurements to confirm things. There have been changes over the years that don't appear to be reflected in our records, I will have to take a quick look and see if I can find any digital copies. I suspect that these changes were made when Dad was a bit lax on the record keeping. Once in the new office, I hope to change all that, both digitally and hardcopy wise, if he wants to sell any of the towers, all the info will have to be available anyways. I may take out the drone and use it to do some aerial images of the tower sections, you really can't get a good shot from the tower itself and ones from the ground won't get you an elevation shot, so you still can't see things clearly.

I am scrambling to make room for the Conex, need to try and somewhat level out the area where it will be living. Not that I can’t move it, when empty it would be a piece of cake, I have moved the other ones full and that makes things rather interesting.
