OK, I have a plan, but no way is it going to happen this weekend. I think it will take a full dry day with a helper, a long day, but I think it can be done. I just have to set the stage so that when I have help we aren't tripping over things or just moving things redundantly for no reason. I am resigned to the fact that I will not be setting up the stock room this year, there is just no way, it will take a month or more of dedicated work to get that setup and that isn't going to happen this year. This is going to involve setting up more of the green Vidmar shelving, kind of in the center of the shop space, between the two overhead doors. The only sucky part is that there isn't enough room on the back side to use the forklift to load the shelves, I need 9' of space and I will be lucky to get 7' 6". I can still use the floor area for things with the pallet jack, then I can hand load lighter things onto shelves above that stuff. Ultimately the top of the two rows will store the bridge portion of the crane that ultimately will be in the stock room. By doing this, I can clear up floor space so that this winter I can use the shop, for real, I do not want to go through another winter where I can't really use the shop for anything other than storage. This shop is going to end up being the fabrication shop, the Hill will essentially be the automotive shop with basic fabrication tools/equipment.
I have spent the last couple hours measuring things and playing around with possible layouts and the path forward is laid out, feels good, even if things need tweaking as it goes, I can see the path forward. I like that.
