That's the kind of thing we're looking at, too. A lot of the damage will not get sorted until after Mud Season.
Damage to the working waterfront is vast and devastating. I’ve seen some pics that are just awful.

Looks like a tough one to fix. Is the bed empty now?
The bed is empty, it dumped fine, it just stopped part way down when I lowered it. The rams still work up and partway down, will need new rods, but it may be cheaper to find some surplus cylinders. I think we now have an official name for the truck though. Sergeant Gumby. Honestly for the carnage I would have expected to hear something. There could be a pin that is stuck and things didn’t pivot, I won’t really know until I get to pull them out. I can say for sure it won’t be for a while, not doing it in the cold, Gumby is out of the way and the dump body is supported by the safety stop.

I didn't realize that 2 were bent, but looking close at the pic I see it now. Wow. Just doesn't seem like that oughta even be possible.

That is not going to be an easy fix. I'd bet that rotating member the rods attach to is frozen or very tight.The this happened, still not sure how, but it happened, going to be a fun repair.

Wow, those rods are solid, forces required to do that are massive, amazed it didn't rip off the mounting plates

For some reason, I hate spending money on batteries..... I know they are necessary, but when one craps out in one of the vehicles, I just cringe.... logically, I know it's not that big of a deal....

I have another dozen on the floor, all great batteries, just need to start using them. I was trying to use all group 31 style with studs, but the military forklifts are just going to be the odd ducks. I have to figure out where all the batteries are going, the Tru-Hitch needs some and I am pretty sure it takes group 31. The big tilt trailer will need some, I need some for the log loader, Buck will be due for some, so on and so forth, I also want to have a couple spares at each shop, the plan will be to keep swapping things out for AGM batteries, they had a few more, but I didn’t want to spend over a grand today. 
What in the work kind of jumper cables cost $800?

So worth the money! I have a 25' set of 1/0 jumpers that I bought in '03 when things were affordable. I love jumping someone without my truck running when they are arguing about revving it to 2k rpm. "Either start your junk or I'm leaving"

Overall, I wouldn't call most of them mistakes.
Typically, you're either looking to expand your capacity, make money flipping a machine, or chasing a long term financial reward. Three categories I and most people here would support.
The rub comes when you attract projects faster than they can be completed, which causes bottle necks, and other people don't live up to your expectations.
Maybe you are just overly optimistic in these areas.... (As am I. And, I love a deal probably too much.)
On the plus side, your available floor space at the Salvage Garage has been steadily increasing over the years, so you're on the right track!

Can't you make your own set from wire and clamps? That's a LOT of money for jumper cables.It is two sets, but still not cheap. 25’ long 1/0 duplex wire, rated for 1000 amps. I really want some that are 3/0, just to say I have them.

Is that what you call it? Lol.. I gotta hand it to you man, you always get a chuckle out of me.
I second this motion. I highly recommend the 1/0 or even 2/0 jumper cables. They make life so much better working on heavy equipment. However US marine 2/0 is $6.70 a foot. 1/0 is $5.40. Good quality alligator clips are $100 a set. $400 a set is leaving a lot of money on the table.
On the other hand, you have enough projects. Maybe spending the money to save the time is a good deal.
