No one sells duplex cable that large without buying a lot of it, I have done two separate cables before and used a sleeve, but it just wasn’t the same. 25’ of 1/0 cable is pretty pricey anyways, then the clamps are about $65 a set, so as much as it sounds like they are overpriced, they really aren’t and you definitely get what you pay for. If I buy two sets then get 10’ of the duplex cable, I can make up some pretty adaptable sets of cables. One set would live at the Hill, the other set would live at the Salvage Garage. I have had a couple occasions where I didn’t have my truck with jumper cables, no way to easily jump a vehicle and that can ruin my entire reason for going to either location. I figure saving the day a few times and the cables are paid for. If they are taken care of, they last forever, I still have my good set of smaller cables from when I got them for Christmas at 17, only 31 years ago. Sometimes good equipment is worth the investment.

Wokspaces above 1200 squarefeet.
With heavy jumper cables, I prefer separate cables. They don’t seem to tangle as much and it’s easier to roll them up.

I got some large shrink tubing and cut it in 2-3" pieces and randomly slid it along my 2 cables shrank it down
and it made it easy to store them

Unfortunately my favorite supplier doesn’t carry the duplex cable anymore, nor the good alligator clamps. However 50 foot of 1/0 welding cable is $340 bucks. 2/0 is $380

A couple of wire ties or some cable lacing and they are one cable.
I highly recommend making one set with Anderson connectors on one end and permanently wiring and Anderson on one or two of your most used jump vehicles. It is so nice to not have to open the hood. Wire up a short piece with the clamps and you can still use them as regular jumper cables if your primary is out of service.
Or if you want to be super fancy, you can put them on both ends and then one set of jumper cables becomes a giant extension cable. It adds $120 bucks or so to the build.
I did it for my F350 and it was wonderful. Didn’t have to drag around 50 ft of cable when I didn’t need it. I mean 25 ft of cable works 95% of the time. However when I couldn’t get close or pull out the extension and now I had 50 ft. I also had a winch on an Anderson as well as 100 ft of 6 gauge and some 12v lights and power tools.

Yup, This would probably align with many of us that work a day job. Whether that may be office work, manufacturing or service, etc. Some days are hard to be fulfilled with a perception of hard to see progress. It can be a churn. Hence, I'm often amazed at the latitude that you do have for much of your working days. The days that are most fruitful is when there is a clearly defined purpose and goal, and it is realistically achievable. Candidly, it is remarkable at the level of bureaucracy in many companies.....I wish it was that way, but almost no work I want to do has gotten done, I take that back, no work has gotten done except for office work. Even that feels like I haven't gotten anything done.
Hopefully it get's better on your end, but just know that many people feel the same way about paperwork... or emails/digital coordination......
It’s a mess here, driveway is ice, little melting later as temps go up but doubt it melts driveway. Ice *****. Wife almost went it ditch about a mile from house, made it to work safely though. Main roads will clear up. Side roads not so much.
I have to try and get the sander setup, the Fird is inside thawing out.
Glad I came up to the Hill yesterday, the waste oil furnace was out and it would have been a worse problem this morning. That furnace is totally random as to why it decides not to fire, I hope the newer furnace does better, won’t know until next winter though (maybe longer). I plan on bringing in the next tote of oil today too, would be good to let it warm up a bit before transferring it into the shop tank.

I actually think it got tossed out, I remember a piece of rubber that had disintegrated that I threw away last fall, I am thinking it was just **** rubber that wasn't UV stable. I ordered a real 3/8" thick mat that is designed to be in the sun, I may have to trim it down to clear the wheel wells since it needs to hang out of the back of the truck a ways. It is more of a skirt than anything, just there to keep the salty mess from filling the bumper and receiver tube.

I used to get 100' rolls of belting from the gravel pit and cut side and rear skirts for our trucks. We used IH 3600 series dump trucks with spreader inserts in the dump bed. It sure helped keep the box cleaner.

Crunch time repairs ****!!!!! Hope it goes smoothly.
That poor U-Joint, it saw salt all year long thanks to snow and boats. We got it taken care of, but it took some effort to get the old caps off after we cut the cross out. At least it doesn’t slam or squeak anymore, vibration is gone too. My back is not so happy, I am grabbing some dinner, had to come back to the Hill to put away the 3500 and the army forklift. I am not sure what tomorrow will be like, I have heard a couple different guesses, so I figure I am ready for whatever the ***** throws at me.
