They were probably easier to source, but I completely agree. I think it was a smaller company and to make the four wheel drive work, it was easier to get those axles than some of the heavier duty ones.

It really ***** because I can't get the plow hooked back up without either getting a forklift out to it or dragging a jack out there, would be no issue at all if I could have the plow in the front of the quonset hut, it would be about 3 minutes to hook it up. The snow pack has lifted the truck just enough that I can't get things attached. I am going to get the forklift out and lift it up so that it will be at the proper level. At this point, my efforts have just about take my back out. I guess I should have hooked it up yesterday, but I was trying to take some time with my GF and a break. Whatever, it is what it is and there isn't anything I can do at this point.

I've been scrambling just to get a 1098 form TO fill out!
Irs has one you can download and print, but the "red copy" that gets sent to the dumb fucks is not "scanable" and will not be accepted and "penalties" may be due.
It sure seems like making things difficult (compliance) is a priority. Calling the local irs office in hopes of simply stopping by and picking up the form connects you to a low level goober who knows where, but not a lot of Mainers use "ax" instead of "ask". Then you need an appointment and the first available time is over a week past the deadline. 😡
Similar experience with the state. They sent 1 page out of 3, then the email address for questions doesn't exist. Tried 3 times.

I am going to try and not get too dirty, but today I have to add waste oil to the tank, last night I went below my self imposed "safety line". I need to move a bunch of things to get the tank close enough and get enough room for me to setup/run the pump. I figure there will be drama surrounding this in some way, shape, or form. Stay tuned.

Only a few distractions so far and I almost have all the copper, brass, and wire separated out, might even be able to take them to the scrap yard tomorrow. I am saving some of the larger wire to process further, but not right now, only one tote, 6 gauge and up wire, so it should be easy to get the jacket off.

I see the chiropractor tomorrow, I am expecting things to get worse before getting better. :(

I want to hit the Salvage Garage tomorrow afternoon, I would like to start putting some supplies and tools away, even a few things will be better than nothing. I plowed a bit the last time I was there, made more of a mess than anything, the Hyster forklift was in the way along with a few other things. I am already thinking of stuff to take to the Spring auction, I just hope they have it locally again. I want to be ready this time, only have about two months to have things together and I know that time will fly by.

Strouty there comes a time when just getting rid of stuff and getting it out of your way becomes more important than keeping it around with the intent of repairing things to get a better price. You seemed to be making better progress in scrapping stuff. Maybe now should be the time to move some of the project stuff that is not getting done so you can concentrate on other things.

I am only keeping the easy stuff, it is one tote and then the hand could that are outside under the snow. I really am using it as an excuse to finish setting up my powered wire stripper, going to need something to test it with.

I still have some miscellaneous **** to deal with, it is really low value wire, I don’t have enough of it to actually want to bring it in, so it may get tossed.

Next step is make the room for the oil tank, then setup the pump. I am going to eat dinner first, that way if I get too messy I don’t have to be all oily for dinner.

I am messing with email setup, I got a new phone and watch, they are both different enough that I have been on the struggle bus getting them the way I want them. Nothing like new tech to mess everything up. I need to be up in two hours, I suspect I will be lucky to get an hour of sleep. :(
