Wokspaces above 1200 squarefeet.
So far today has not been productive, I have the 3500 on the lift and the oil is drained, can't find the filter wrench anywhere. These are in an awkward location, so you really need one to get it off without putting a screw drive through the filter...
I just wanted to do some routine maintenance and instead I just spent 20 minutes going through drawers and boxes, not sure why I would have taken the filter wrenches, it is the only place I change oil on the smaller trucks. My guess is that I brought them to the Salvage Garage a while ago and just don't remember, I feel old. I guess I am going to buy a dedicated filter wrench that fits the 6.5 diesels and it will stay with the oil drain setup. The worst part is that I am looking for a cluster of four wrenches, they have a sleeve that holds them all together, so it isn't exactly something that you overlook or mistake for something else.

My old man told me that when you can't find something, it's time to start cleaning up. Usually after about 10 minutes I find what I'm looking for. Good luck.

Had days like that. It is also why I have some duplicate sockets. Needed a 50mm socket, knew I had one, but couldn't find it so I bought another. The next day I found the missing socket. Same thing with a 32mm socket. Pretty sure there are some others in the toolbox with the same story. We moved several months ago and I still can't find my T-handle allen wrenches. I don't think I will find them even if I order a new set.
I would have never found them, they were at the Salvage Garage. I got an extra oil filter, a fuel filter, 3 gallons of oil, so now I don’t need the ladder, but I am pretty sure I know where it is, and a trailer to help make snow removal more difficult.
I am headed back to the Hill now, so I can try and finish things up with the 3500. My Brother needs to borrow the F-350 tomorrow, so I need to get the snow tires swapped over on that too.

I used to joke about bying Memory Foam shoes to help me remember things, well i'll

It was for a big diesel military generator. I originally wanted it for the axle and rims, but when I got there I found out it wasn't full air brake, it is air over hydraulic. I paid $400 for it and the rims are worth that, tough to find the 6 bolt pattern with a 22.5 tubules truck rim. They are usually the two piece 20" tube style.

I have no problem stabbing an old oil filter or using the giant Channel-Locks, but those filters in tight recessed places ****. I bought a huge collection of filter sockets some years ago, and still seem to be lacking one that fits.
Sunny today, feels really nice after the cold, windy weather we had.
I am at the Hill now, got to collect a few things and move some tires, then I am headed to the Salvage Garage. Yesterday ended up being productive, but I didn't finish things up until about 10PM. Changed the oil (and filter!), adjusted the rear brakes, changed the fuel filler neck (had rusted through), filled the washer fluid, swapped to the studded snow tires, and changed the thermostats so I can have heat. Then swapped to the studded snow tires on the F-350 along with a couple other minor things.

We got some of your weather today Strouty..... it's been cold and we have snow, but it warmed up (38F) and rained today, and now temps are dropping back down and some snow is coming. I'd rather have snow than rain, sloppy mess, but at least the ground seems to be very frozen, so that helps.
Hopefully your day went mostly in the direction you wanted, and you continue to get the help tomorrow.
It was a decent day Kent, moved a bunch of things into the storage trailer and got more prepped to move today. We are supposed to get those upper 30s with some rain today as well. I am going to try and take advantage of it and move the box trailer. If I can do that, then I think I can get the front yard somewhat cleaned up for future plowing. Right now it is a mess and there is no place to move the snow.

Since it was warm on Wednesday, I did manage to start things and shuffle a bit, looks like next week is going to be warm again and I will put in some more effort. Can you tell where the trailer was?

Right now is not too cold, but I have a mess inside that needs to be handled before I can finish cleaning up things outside. A few things are coming into the shop and a few things are going out, but the whirlwind of trying to beat the rain has basically plugged up the front of the shop. I am optimistic though, looks like next week I should have the entire front yard cleaned enough to actually be able to plow snow, side and backyard, well, different story. I am not going to try and do much as it won’t be worth the effort at this point. I have had a lot worse and I am prepared for things to be a bit unruly once the snow starts to pile up.

Sounds like a good plan! I know snow is not your favorite thing. I just figure as long as I can plow, snow just means a shift in projects until after winter and mud season. I've plenty to keep me busy.

Like the way you have organised that trailer Strouty, very nice! Good mixture of various storage solutions and good use of space.
Where does the strap that keeps the drawers closed connect to @ the bottom, looks in the picture it goes to a plate, is that screwed into the floor of the trailer?

I bought some smaller plates to attach to the floor, those were a bit too large, trying to keep all the floor space free for rolling things in and out. The straps won't be perfectly lined up with the center of the drawers, but they should work well enough to keep things from becoming a problem once the drawers are loaded. I was going to use plywood, then a 2x4, then a cargo net, but the single strap per cabinet should work the best. Once the trailer is parked it won't really be much of an issue until I have to move it again.
To be clear, this is not going over the road, just in the yard from time to time.
Also the Yard Donkey is absolutely perfect for moving trailers around, it needs a bit more attention, but it functions well. I plan on adding more mirrors and some lights.

Thanks for the explanation Strouty, clever solution imho because it will be quick to put in place and to remove afterwards & doesn't take up a lot of space when not used.
The space when removed was the biggest part of my decision process. So all 8 of those cabinets are completely empty and then is room for another 10 or so of the black totes, I can't remember how many of the revolving drawers are open, but I do know there are more of those as well. When things warm back up I will be able to consolidate like items and really get to fully take advantage of my system.

Kind of cool seeing the QR-codes.
The cool part has been using them. It is still a battle to remember to use them first and search later...
I have to print up more for the totes, I am almost out and I also want to duplicate them on the opposite ends so it doesn't matter what way they are stored on the shelves.
Last night when I went home I checked the weather and it didn't even slightly resemble the 1" plus of snow that I am now seeing on the ground. Did I mention that I hate snow?

Will you plow the snow so it won't freeze up, or chance having the rain clear the snow for you? (I almost always clear the snow, but I'm protecting old folks who might fall.)Decorating is over, ended up with close to 4". I hate snow.
Today is cold again, by Friday it will be 50 and raining, then Sunday is back to a deep freeze.
I am still not sure what I am doing today, going to probably be a mix of stuff, my plan is to stay warm.

At this point I am on the edge about the snow removal, I think I am going to be ok, but I am going to clear a bit out front at the Salvage Garage, it was not plowed at all, so there is quite a bit more snow than anywhere else. I still have a few more things to shuffle before I can do that, but I am close. As long as I can hit it before the end of today I should be set.
