Thanks guys, not a miracle, just doing things that need to be done.

Right now I have the plow hooked up and I am revisiting the wiring, looks like I left a few things not finished. Have done some temporary wiring to figure out how it works and I now know exactly what I have to do, at least for the plow to function properly. I have not checked the lights yet, but I need to get this thing outside and then get the other one inside. It is supposed to precipitate tonight and I would prefer that the non running vehicle be inside instead of having it melt inside tomorrow.

And the maroon burb is inside. I am thinking it is time to go home, didn’t eat lunch and I have plenty to do at home, at least the truck is inside. Now all I have to do is fix it.

The last couple days have kind of felt that way, but I knew there was an issue with the maroon burb, it did some funny stuff this summer and all my research led to the injection pump. I was ready to do the repairs, but it stopped having the issue and just kept working. Now I wish I had fixed it in the summer, but I couldn't bring myself to fix it when it was still working. So the maroon one is most likely going to need an injection pump, but I am going to do all the things that should be done and get it over with. The list includes injectors, glow plugs, fuel lines, lift pump, check over fuel lines, vacuum pump, check starter out, oil cooler lines, and a new PMD.

Has the maroon burb got the funky electronic DB4, or the older one that's cheaper? I have a buddy that his dad had one of the electronic ones that was always a problem. and was quite expensive to get a new pump.

All of mine are the electronic ones. I have not had nearly as much trouble with them as others have had, usually the problem is just the PMD/FSD, so this could be my first actually bad injection pump.

More snow today, should be just an inch or so, then another 2-4” tomorrow. I am soooo excited.

I drove Bev the last couple days, but she is a hand full in the slippery stuff, makes me think I should but the bullet and get new traction tires for the rear, right now she is wearing steer tires as I was doing lots of highway driving.

Today I am definitely going to figure out what plagues the maroon burb, that way I am not just blindly throwing parts at it. I will still probably replace a bunch of parts, but if it is not the injection pump, I would prefer to not spend all the time and money for no reason.

Spent the day getting things situated, now I need to work on putting stuff away, we moved way too much stuff and moved it quickly, now I need to sort things and put tools away.

Dump truck looks like it will need some parts to dump again, need to check with manufacturer about availability, most likely will replace entire pump due to costs.

There is actually quite a bit of room, once I sort some of the **** and put things away, it should be better.

Going to work on wiring up lights and things for the forklift today, also need to investigate the burb. They said we were getting another 2-4” of snow, I think I have 3” already and it is supposed to snow until about 5, tomorrow is supposed to be colder, then Thursday will be low teens, can’t wait.

Too early for this much winter already. At least you are ready for the white stuff. I was hoping for a warmer winter but now I hear the forecasters are changing that prediction for this half of the country.
Your shop looks great actually. You are bringing vehicles in and out as needed and have room for repair work etc. The place is functioning nicely.

I just finished reading through the entire thread over a few days. You've made a lot of progress in the shop, and you should be proud of that!
I like some of the vehicles you've got, particularly the 6x6, and that 37 Dodge. I'm also into tracked vehicles, can you share some more pics of that little tracked vehicle you posted a little bit ago? Check out the links in my signature for some of the tracked projects I've got going on.

For keeping track of projects, I use some simple tools....
Colornote on my smartphone: master list of big picture projects, and then individual lists for specific projects. I list at the top items that I need to buy, and to-do items. As I finish items, I list DONE and the date and move to the bottom of the list.
Since my smartphone is almost always with me, I can easily add things as I think of it, and it's with me when I'm in the store buying things.
I also keep a small whiteboard in my office, and I have my top priority items listed there. Having that visual reminder helps me stay focused, and not get sidetracked.

On the Mill, Lathe, drill press... what's the main thing you're interested in doing with those pieces of equipment? I use my mill the most, so handy for a wide variety of fabrication.

I feel your pain on the burbs, especially the one with the starter issue. I had a starter go out on my 3/4 ton chevy truck, but fortunately it was in the parking lot of the parts store. I ended up changing the starter right there after getting a ride home to change into shop clothes. Access was decent, but it's the 6.0L gas engine.

I've got many other projects as well.... I feel your pain with the projects, but I also enjoy the thought of them, and most of them I have de-prioritized for now while I focus on the top priority ones.

Thanks guys, been busting *** on Clark, totally redoing the wiring, I have a buddy that makes fuse and relay panels and we are doing a custom installation. I am using this as practice for the M37 and possibly the J5. Should be done by next week, will have all the lights working too.

As for the snow, we are closing in on another 8” so far. I measured this morning and it was over 4”

I am bummed too, we could be having a great time. Instead I am here stuck with 8” of snow and no vehicle to safely drive. Bev weighs about 12k pounds with 8k on the front axle, basically I have to put it in neutral when I come to a stop light as the automatic trans tries to overpower the brakes. It is downright scary. I am going to wait for a while before leaving, hopefully the roads will be better and traffic will be less. I need to have Clark movable tomorrow so I can get the plow lights figured out on the black burb, really annoying that I can’t plow after dark, the ford has no alternator and the burb has no headlights, go figure.

I figured out that the high beams were working on the black burb so I plowed, then tilted the lights down a bit and drove it home. Hopefully it will start this morning, it is only 20, but I am not sure it will start and it is plugged in.

I think I finished cleaning up the snow at the house around 11:30 PM, but it was still fairly warm and there was no wind at all. Of course around 1 AM the plow went through again, just hope he didn't make a mess of things, whatever is there now is probably staying there for a bit due to the fact that there was lots of water draining across the front of my driveway, so it will freeze.

Should have the forklift running today, fingers crossed.

Time is money... big money... if it's gonna take you a bunch of time to make the wires you need... Ponder the true savings. Waiting is also time... that has a value.

Tomorrow will be sorting and cleaning, I have found a bunch of things that should be grouped together, today was an eye opener, I had to place an order for a bunch of things that I "knew" I had, but couldn't find anywhere. Maybe the stuff will turn up later, if it does, great, if not, then at least I ordered what will be needed for the next project.

My burb started no problem, I guess I am not remembering things very well last year. Plugged in with the 5 glow plugs it started with half the glow cycle no problem. Maybe I am just losing it?

I am at the shop now, need to fix the handle to a shovel. This shovel has some meaning as it was my GF’s late Dad’s shovel that broke and he wanted me to fix it, I did, then when he passed, I commandeered it again. I have fixed it twice now and it gets worse each time. Probably have to make a new handle next time.

One of the top ten worst thanksgivings I have ever had. Got trapped in a corner so I couldn’t get out from the table without have nine people move, then my GF makes desserts, yet one base pecans, the other is all marshmallow, both of which I hate. To top it off no cranberry sauce at all.
