I doubt it. Unless you have a lot of guys working in there at once. 200a is super overkill for a 1man shop

Syncro300 needs 100a. You can do a dual lug 320a meter box and run 200a to house and shop. That is common and what i did.

I would never consider 200a too much for a one man shop. Couple AC units, decent lighting, an air compressor and a welder and you are climbing the amp ladder quite quickly.
Total amps of usage does not necessarily equal your panel. You need to do a load study to determine where you are at vs where you need to be.I totally forgot about the air conditioner, if I go by breakers, I would be at 160 for the welder and air compressor and another 30 for the air conditioner. Then I have the lights and ceiling fans. Yup, 400 amp service is in my future. The best part is my electrician buddy says we can run another 200 amp panel to the other end of the shop so I don’t need to buy a monster 400 amp panel, I like that idea.

If true, i would think you could hotwire the fans to whenever the power switch was on.

Wait, the toasted bits are resistors. Looks like R1 and R6... if they burned, something shorted. The circuit was pulling more power then they could handle. A bandaid is to bump them up to 1 watt or 2 watt resistors, then see what gets hot next.
Yeah, that's what i was thinking too, the burned bit is a big resistor, so that says something IC/silicon related stuck on and it pulled a lot of current. Gotta find that or it'll be tough to fix it.
I am calling Miller today to find out what I can get from them for service manuals.
It still may not have the type of breakdown I am going to need, but at least I will have what the technicians have. There are a few places that sell old boards, I am going to get a price quote. If the technical/service manual doesn't show any sort of values, then I am kind of stuck as the resistor that fried is totally unidentifiable at this point.
