I am giving him Monday, then I will decide what to do. I was thinking of posting an ad that says free for the taking, with something good and tell people to keep calling.

That was what I was thinking, the big issue is I don’t know his last name. I am pretty sure I figured out what it is, but I have not confirmed it 100, he said where he was going, he is in the electrical field and his name is not common, I searched and found an electrician’s helper licensed by the state in the town with his name, seems like that is him.

I can't keep up with your thread! Get busy with work and things for a few weeks and I'm something like 60 pages behind.

Two fire trucks? How many parades do you have to be in? :lol_hitti

I think you now have more Suburbans than I have motorcycles and at one point I was up to ten, maybe 11. I've whittled mine down to six complete bikes with one on permanent consignment at a salvage yard until it sells. Still sorting through parts I pulled from the donor bikes and purging what I don't need to keep.

Sorry nothing exciting going on right now. I am dealing with excel spread sheets.

I am going to empty the dump trailer, but that is about it. I have a ton of emails and calls to return, so until Thursday, it will be a bit slow. :(

If it was me... and it's been me in the past... I would just go to where you think he is... and retrieve the hitch... if he confronts you... I would thank him for letting you pick up the hitch that he borrowed. Have your phone set to record all conversations...

I was happy to see it as well, I am still writing the guy off, never dealing with him again.

Dropped the Freightliner off so I can start getting the rear boom removed.

Tomorrow I am looking at a third knuckle boom, yes a third one, it is supposed to be bigger, will know more tomorrow.

I am scheduled to go to NY on Sunday to pick up the second fire truck, also will be going down to Massachusetts on Saturday to start removing the second knuckle boom from the truck, won’t be picking that up for a couple more weeks, but the seller asked if I would help remove it from the truck, figured it was a good idea, that way I make sure I get the parts off without any destruction.

Title came in for the OGMC, so I should have that registered this week, hopefully will have the repairs done as well, would be nice to start driving it.

Lots going on, tons of things in the tower end as well, lease negotiations galore.

Got the boom off the new Freightliner, they did almost everything, wasn’t expecting that, but the guy is really excited about the boom. He says he will help me paint the truck, so I guess I have to pick out a color now.

The crappy part about the Freightliner is that the engine has lots of idle time on it and it smokes pretty much all the time. To top it off, since it has almost no driving time, the transmission is really tight, makes it hard to shift. I am hopeful that moving the seat back makes some difference, but I am really looking forward to getting the new engine and transmission installed, it will make me smile. Basically when I get done, this will be s hot rod, except a big truck.

I picked up the OGMC, found out after driving it that there was a HUGE fuel leak. I think if you lit a match, it would have followed me all the way home. I am trying to figure it out now, looks like it could be just the fuel filter, but it is hard to tell, the truck is too tall for me to reach anything, the pitfalls of a lifted truck. The nice part is that I don't have to jack it up to change the oil. ;)

They are generally fun.

Pulled the fuel tank down enough to see the leak, now I have to fix it. I ordered some parts and tools to do it correctly, can’t really drive it too much, but I feel good that I found the leak. You just could not see it with the tank in the way. I took Bev home, seemed easiest, one of the only trucks I own that doesn’t have any fluid leaks. ;)

No red, maroon is as close as I get. Red pigments are some of the most expensive to buy, so I am staying away from that choice anyways. Most likely it will be blue, or silver. Just have to look over colors and see what I want.

Got the OGMC fuel leak fixed, but it is a temporary fix, at least it will not piss fuel everywhere now. All I have to do is get the fuel tank back in place and it had more fuel in it than I thought, I think the fork lift is going to be used, the floor jack just keeps sliding out. Can't wait until I have an installed lift, doing this **** on the floor *****, especially since I have a lift out back in storage. :(

Got a few more gallons out of the tank, should be a bit lighter and easier to handle now.

I still need to gather some tools for tomorrow, going to help remove the knuckle boom from the truck down in Massachusetts, not ready to pick it up, but the guy needs it off the truck, so this was the compromise we came up with. I am currently looking for a mirror that will fit the fire truck in NY, don't want to drive back without one, would be a PITA.

No luck on the mirror, but fuel tank is in, no leaks, just need to attach a few clamps and reinstall a filter that I unbolted looking for the leak. Need to gather tools for tomorrow, no clue what exactly I am going to need, but I figure the other guy has most everything already, I hate bringing tools to a job like this, really easy to lose or confuse the tools, but I want to get it done.
